    As I sit here on my lap top..watching tv..and chomping on a slim jim feeling as bloated as can be...I've come to realize the holiday foods, sweets, and cravings have gotten the best of me. There is no doubt in my mind that I have gained 10 pounds and to be honest it is pure laziness and boredom..which causes me to eat. I'm not a fat girl...I know thats what all heavy-set people say but really I am not. I would love to lose the 10 pounds I've gained though. I know the logical way is to exercise and eat healthy. Well lately I've been super busy with work and school and college registration stuff I just haven't had much time to worry about it. But it's a new year and I want to crack down. NOW that I've told you all my life story, my question is...what are ways that I could lose some poundage? Please spare me the obvious eat healthy and exercise...yes I KNOW this is the best method and I plan to exercise more and eat healthier however, I am looking for suggestions.     Is it wise to have the Acai Berry pill or do the Colon Med during Atkins, or will it ruin everything? Also I want to know how to transition out of Atkins. I know that there's a maintenance phase, but I have a lot of trips planned for next year, and I know that I can't follow it forever. Is there a way to transition to more and more carbs maybe like 5 grams every 2 weeks? And please don't say anything like Atkins is unhealthy, or you made a mistake.     My current weight is 155lbs and I'm around 5'7" (1,69m). I have been on and off diets for years and I am trying to lose weight for the last time, because this lack of willpower is just ridiculous. I'm not going to starve, because I do want to maintain my health. I plan to exercise a lot and eat a little bit over 1000 kcal per day, additionally drink more water and eat less fat. I'd really appreciate if anybody of you could give me some tips on how to succeed this time. What kind of exercises would be better to get in shape and not have saggy skin. What helped you to lose weight? Any small, personal tips like drinking iced water, exercising at specified time, eating grapefruits etc. Everyone who's lost weight must have had some little habits that helped them and I think that collecting all these tips and sticking to them would help me A LOT! I plan to run when it gets warmer, however, I have lots of free time for different exercises, I just don't know with what to begin. I used to be on Atkins's diet, but it didn't seem to work for me. As for my meals, I'll eat less fat, no sugar or sweets and more grain products like rice and oats. I was checking calories in various fruits and kiwis & lemons seem to have the least. Kiwis are full with iron and C vitamin, but I have no info about melons. Not that I'm going to eat only those, just that I'm getting prepared. Is it even possible to lose 30 - 35 lbs in only 90 days? I read that 1 pound per week was healthy, but, oh well, beauty takes victims, doesn't it. So, any tips people? Please? I live in Europe, there's ice everywhere.     I have battled with weight for about 6 years since I hit my early twenties. Due stress, comfort eating and pure lack of exercise. However in the last couple of years I tried all sorts, gym every day, atkins, reducing calories etc - and in general I don't eat junk because we never buy any. I lost half of what I wanted to lose to start with and another half this year. I did it by quitting the conventional diets and following a plan I made for myself after understanding my body, metabolism etc. I really think that a lot of people would benefit from and and see results, however in order for me to share my experience it would take me a long time to write everything for others to follow, that's why I was thinking of starting a diet / weight loss book or programme of some sort? I would have to write this book / programme and it would take long and don't want to be disappointed with no sales. I know it works - but how many of you would pay for a diet / weigth loss programme. [Not a get skinny quick thing - but you see results in week one or even a few days] - there are no side effects and I would want my customers to verify with their physician before they decide to follow through. If you have had weight issues and struggled or are still struggling would you pay? My idea is to split it into 3 phases, so that after pase one clients who see change will come back for phase 2 ($20 / £10 per phase) etc.

    The atkins diet doesn't even seem species appropriate. They say eat eggs,bacon,sausage,cheese,tofu,vegetables. no fruit, no whole grains. Type it in on youtube " simply raw diabetes" well he ate like 55% meat. Thats too much meat. It shouldn't exceed 25% of your diet! Plus the only nutrient missing from a raw vegan diet is B12, so bee pollen and honey should be added.

    I need to loose about 10lbs in 3 weeks before my friend's wedding on halloween as I've recently put 10lbs mainly due to stress and a lot of stuff going on in my life . I also plan on doing vigorous exercise to accompany it. I heard that when you go off low car, you immediately start gaining and there's no hope of keeping it off. Is it possible at all to keep it off if I watch total calorie intake, exercise and keep a healthy balanced diet? My plan after i complete my diet would be to go on a 1000 carb/1000 fat&protien diet which I would stay on for life as well as doing good exercise a few times a week. Is this possible? Or would I immediately baloon up after I start eating more carbs?

    Okay a little about me- I am 5'1 or 5'2 and I weigh in at 200 pounds. I need to lose weight, and Ive been struggeling for years. Ive tried Atkins before, and I remember I lost like 8 pounds the first week...Unfortunately, it was the last week as well. I remember quitting, because I felt very limited. I now live in an apartment with my boyfriend, and I am not tempted by little debbie twinkies my parents used to buy! (Etc,etc,etc) Now that I control the shopping, I can get what I need and stick to it. Anyways, I began reading the Atkins book I have again, but again, I so see alot of limitations!! It looks like I can only have cheeses, meats, and vegetables. I tried to go shopping, but everything has tons of carbs!!!! All I really got was string cheese and sugar free jello and diet soda and maybe a bag or 2 of frozen veggies!! What the heck do I eat??? So if you could give me a typical day and what you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that would be GREAT!!!!! Also- I know some of you might try to say "Try this diet" or "Try that diet" but I dont have the money really for like nutrisystem, etc. And I have tried previous diets before, but I know this works the best.     So I decided to put myself on a new diet starting tomorrow. I work 2nd shift so that gives me plenty of time to get up and do this. My diet plan was kind of like Atkins, but it's not. I was only going to take in carbs for lunch, maybe just a bowl of something carb related. Like pasta, mash potatoes, etc. Then go for a nice long walk, maybe about 2 to 3 miles shortly after eating. Then when I get home from work, around 11pm have something small like a hot dog with no bun or a burger patty and a little bit of vegies, or some fruit? Also my job, I am always on my feet, not doing crazy labor but always moving around. I work at a fast paced resturant. Do you guys think this diet is a good idea? Think it may work? Please give me your honest feedback. Thanks.

    I'm trying to lose 5 lbs (well technically I've already lost 2 so 3 lbs) so when I go on vacation in a few weeks I won't feel so guilty about enjoying myself. And yes, it does make a difference. If you're going to comment to say who cares, don't waste yours, or my, time. My parents also decided that they wanted to lose weight (about 2 or 3 times more then I plan to lose) and they decided to go with the Atkins diet. I figured I'd do it with them. I started at 120 lbs and lost the water weight (2 lbs). My only problem is I've lost my appetite. I eat the same things every day. So when I get hungry, I think of the foods I'm allowed to eat and decide I have no appetite. Then I don't eat. So I don't feel very well. I've also started doing yoga and occasionally belly dancing with a show on TV. So the bullet point of this is: What would be the best way to lose a few pounds in a few weeks? Should I keep doing what I'm doing or just do something like weight watchers where I eat a larger variety of food at small amounts. p.s. I'm 5'3" so don't think I'm crazy I'm just trying to get to a weight that I feel comfortable at but is still healthy.

    hey everyone! i have been trying for a long time to lose weight.but failed with all those atkins, master cleanse, and way too many fad diets to list. im a female, 16 years old, 5'5, and weigh 146. last year, at the same height, i weighed 120. so i'm trying to get back down to that weight. anyway... what do you think of this? run 3 miles in morning and at night. crunches,lunges,squats,pushups,weights. DDR, Wii Fit, exercise videos. (exercising is pretty easy for me, its just ridiculous how much junk food i eat!) &as far as meals go... breakfast-cheerios and fruit lunch-turkey sandwich and veggies dinner-grilled chicken salad so based on the exercises and those meal plans.. about how long do you think it'll take to lose all the 26 pounds? 2 pounds a week? possibly 3? im just tired of trying to rush it all, and always failing, i want to do it the healthy way this time. thanks in advance to those who answer!!! i REALLLLLY appreciate it!:)

    i have tried numerous well known diet plans such as south beach and Atkins but they seem to target weight loss in the stomach area but that's not my problem i have a 24 inch waist i am 5'4" i weigh 145 lbs. and i am 16 yrs old and i have 16" calves!! it might not seem that my calves are huge but i am extremely disproportionate!! i have tried tons of different exercises like cardio (i did a lot of biking at low resistance levels and a lot of elliptical), yoga, pilates, weight training and nothing helped i have also tried jogging for long periods of time because i heard that would help but they got bigger!! both of my parents are certified personal trainers and don't know how to help me. i recently went back to school shopping and found that no jeans would fit me (even bell bottoms) because they were so tight in my calves. PLEASE please help me. I also consulted a doctor on this and he said that he didn't know what to tell me
