So your to tell me that 2 stupid teenagers can just speed into oncoming traffic which caused me to collide with them. Then the driver gets a ticket for no insurance (the car is insured its her brothers, but not her). She totally messes my car up. The police report says she is at fault but Im the one who has to pay. The insurance company covering her brothers car says they don't know if they will pay because they don't know if she had permission to drive the car or whatever. But they cant let me know their verdict cause she wont answer the phone. Okay so you don't answer the phone I guess that means you get away and don't have to be held accountable. Im going to have to pay for everything. This doesn't make sense. What can I do?

Okay, so I got home and went on AIM on my computer, and a message popped up saying I was signed onto two locations, and then I wondered who else was on it, then my cousin imed me asking why I was on the aim mobile all day so I was like freaking out cause a long time ago like last summer I signed onto AIM on mobile without knowing it costed money to send IMs and receive them and stuff, so I didnt know how to sign off completely and then they charged money, and ended up being like 100 something dollars for the bill, and plus it was my dad's cell phone and he got angry! It was an accident, and I made a mistake and I promised to stop using their cell phone for aim instant messanging forever, now I only use it on the computer (which is free), but today it said I was on aim mobile for the whole day so I checked my dads cell phone and it said I was on aim and My dad only uses it and he never signs on aim, plus it said I was signed on the whole day, and I was at school that time and I never used it, then I went to the aim window and signed off, when you sign off that means you signed off completely they dont charge you anything right? I think it was automatically signed on, i saw that i checked the auto sign on box so i unchecked it then signed off, so does that mean it will never sign on again? We didn't get unlimited texting or anything, so how much do you think they charged us for like 9 hours? I didnt receive any im except for one which said "Hi" from my cousin, and thats it. It didnt send any ims either, so how much was it charged and will my parents find out?

I have been married for 13 years to Mark and we have a 14 year old daughter, Yes we had her first..I dont believe she was a accident..but a blessing.I am 35 and he is 39. It has been a rollar coaster from day one...I have tried everything, given up everything and keep thinking things will get better. When I first got pregnant he wanted me to have abortion and I would not...he was going to leave town with his job and I said so be it, I am having a baby. I was hurt but was not going to have an abortion. Well needles to say he stuck around and we ended up getting married almost 2 yrs later. I guess when we have our problems I always think that he wouldnt be here if I didnt get pregnant. Well we have lastes thus far with plenty of ups and downs and I do love him, but I just dont know if I respect him anymor or in love with him. There has been so many words said that cant be forgotten. Sometimes I wonder if Im just scared to be alone. I feel like I have put up with so much...from him wanting to leave me in the beginning, drinking heavily in the beginning...he makes me feel like Im stupid and fatI dont feel like he thinks much of me. He has no emotins, his attitude is f*** it. He is never wrong...everything is my fault. I used to work at a auto assembly plant and took the buyout...since then I have not worked...almost 2 years...and all I hear is how he works like he is better than me, even though we both decided on this so I could be home and take care of things. I have paid the bills for our whole marriage 13yrs and recently he has been wanting to know where the money is what bills are paid and when...like accuseing me of something, so like always..he never wanted to [aty attention before...I keep a log of everything going in and out on our desk and tell him to feel free to look...so he start sitting down and refiguring everything and telling me what i should pay and when. I guess its his approach and the way he is talking to me...like Im a idiot and he accusing me of something. We have perfect credit due to me paying bills for 13 yrs plus. He is always so distant..he comes home from work and sits on couch and thats it!! Everyday!! We rarly sleep in the same room...for the past week he has given me silent treatment and slept in basement. I just want to know when is it enough, when do you know to get a divorce...my fear is he is waiting till our daughter turns 18..then he will divorce. I always give in...I always try...but when is it enough or not worth it? I am 35 and have given up a good paying job...I dont know what to do next?? Should I try to find a job or should I wait?? Is it better not to work if we are going to get a divorce...will that help me in divorce?? I really want it to work, but at this point I think I am delusional thinking things will be different. I just want to be loved and respected..I dont know if we can ever have that. Sometimes the way he treats me infront of my daughter breaks my heart...I feel like she loses respect for me by the things he says and her seeing me cry all the time.I just so confused and scared and depressed and dont know what I should do...should I set myself up to leave him??

She's often belligerent - when she doesn't get her way, it comes down to personal attacks. She has lost several jobs because she handles conflicts poorly - at one point cussing out a fellow teacher in front of a classroom of 5th graders.
She makes decisions for odd reasons. She decided not to send money to Catholic Charities when she found out they had a $2 Million operating budget for this year for a diocese of 6 million people.
She hides things from family members. Her son was injured seriously in an auto accident when he was 9, permanently disabled, and he was awarded a seven-digit settlement for his care. It was put in a trust for him when he reached 21 (I know this because his mother asked me to be the executor, which I turned down because I didn't feel comfortable taking on the duty). He's now 19 and she tells me "There's no trust, there never was."
She exaggerates, well, everything. At one point she was telling people I was the Chief Financial Officer of my company - I'm just an analyst. Her older son is in college and she constantly tells me that the college (with 20,000 students) is sending her letters every week saying that he's the best student they've ever had.
I mean, she's an interesting person to talk with (when you're not on the receiving end of her jeremiads) but is her behavior worth worrying about?

and when i got my car back after 2 and a half weeks(which is way too long without a rental car) my car came back to me with the back door not opening which i got that fixed and then i noticed that when i turned there was a noise coming from the right front wheel well so i checked it and shure enough the fender liner was loose so i brought it back to fix it and then so i was thinking that maby the door is supposed to sound like that after a replacement but then i got mad and was like this isnt right...i am furious that they did a halfass job on my car and im going to bring it back to get the door fixed is there something they forgot to put on the door or should something be tightened...also is there a place where i can report there bad handy work...this place has been known to do a great job on cars

At the intersection of XX and YY, the light was green so I continued to go straight.
The signal light turns yellow. Unexpectedly, traffic forms and the cars ahead of me stop. Hence, I am stuck in the middle of the intersection.
Note: this intersection is a camera zone (cars that pass on a red light will be fined).
I immediately decide to change lanes to the left, because if the light turns red and I continue to stay in the middle of the intersection, (1) I will cause traffic for the cars passing on YY, and (2) my photo will be captured and I will be fined for “crossing” on a red light.
Note: the lane to my right is backed up by traffic, but the lane to my left is free for many spaces ahead of me.
By this time, the signal light turns red. Thus, I look over my left shoulder, and after verifying 100% that no car is on the lane to my left, I signal and am changing lanes when all of a sudden, a car appears in the left lane and the front left portion of my car collides with the rear right portion of his car. I follow him to the nearest parking lot, where we exchange our information.
Possibility: There was no car coming from the lane to my left when I looked over my left shoulder. But a car was in my left lane when I changed lanes. Thus, he was behind me, and upon seeing the light turn yellow, he too changed lanes.

I accidentally backed into a small SUV today in a parking lot. I felt like such an idiot, but hey, accidents happen which is why they are called accidents. The police officer that came out told me that there would be no citations since it was in a parking lot and there were no injuries to either party. He gave me their info and they got mine and we both got some sort of blue paper for our insurance. It was just for statistics. Their car wasn't damaged, but mine was. I'm sure they will say theirs is damaged later on. I am wondering if my insurance company will even cover fixing either car since it was such a minor accident in a parking lot. Has anyone had experience with this? This accident happened in Texas if that helps at all.

My husband was involved in an auto accident Christmas Eve morning. A lady t-boned a truck and th truck came sliding sideways at him. His car , a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, is now totaled. Progressive says that since they deemed it a total loss and cut the check for GMAC (he still had a loan), that they no longer had to provide a rental. This was news to us, they never sent us anything saying that and here we have been paying for rental coverage for 3 YEARS just in case this were to ever happen. So now we are responsible for going out and getting a new vehicle when we don't have the 1200 or better it will take for a down payment. He was not at fault for this accident, and the lady who hit the truck that hit him still has her vehicle and she has totaled this truck and my husband's vehicle. Is there any way since the at-fault insurance hasn't cut our deductible check that we can get them to pay for the rental car until that point? I feel like we got the short end of the stick here. Any replies will be appreciated. :-)

I was in an auto accident and according to the mri and x'rays I have no broken bones, no damage to cartilage etc. I have pain in my upper back, mid back, and whole upper right quadrant of my body. i'm constantly trying to get comfortable by stretching and get a lot of pain in my shoulder and ribs as well. My chiropractor is saying that there may be some nerve damage so those muscles aren't functioning properly, hence the discomfort. He's been giving me electro stim therapy and back adjustments and it seems to help temporarily. Can anyone explain if nerve damage is reversible and what is the best type of therapy?

Friend's sister, is so sweet. She always worked so hard and completed a degree. She just realized, that people have discriminated for years because of the way she looks, (mentally challenged). She is not, and her sis has witnessed several incidents of people staring and making comments and not knowing what to do. My friend's sister, is a bit shy and adds to the fuel.
Also, she has had a very painful childhood, which makes her appear angry, withdrawn, and sad. I feel so bad for her, just trying to find work or be social. It is terrible, how people that have a certain appearance are stereotyped. I know, this is not new, but this is really beginning to spin her into depression.
Her hereditary features makes it difficult. Also, she was in a terrible auto accident, and left her speech impaired. People also make fun of this, too. She is so beautiful and smart, and this is so painful to see.
She is trying to live a simple life and every day is a battle based on something she can do little about. They don't question my friend..because she has a different appearance. I guess because she looks "normal" (whatever that is), she isn't picked on.
Every time she makes a small error...people make fun of her.
I am worried about groups that try to bully her. But, I get your point. Bullying shouldn't be "normal". I wish people weren't so rude.

my nephew was in a serious car accident and was hospitalized for three weeks. The police were at the scene but did not go to the hospital. No tickets were issued to him. He had car insurance but does not have health insurance, We are in New York. He received a letter from his auto insurance carrier stating that they will not pay any hospital bills until the lab results are in ---to rule out alcohol/drugs. My question is...does the hospital do routine alcohol/drug blood tests. or do the police have to request them?

Hey everyone, here's the story.
I was driving down a fairly busy road during the day. When a traffic light had turn red, the 10-15 odd so cars in front of me slowed down to a stop, and so did I. After being stopped for about close to 4-5 seconds, me and my passenger heard a car honk half a second before a car hit me from behind. Obviously this is not my fault whatsoever, the woman who hit me from behind was charged and her insurance covered my car's damages (close to 7 thousand) haha yeah... hit me pretty hard.
About a month later, the police officer who handled the accident called to inform me that I have a court hearing in 2 months involving the issue. The woman is taking this case to court to lessen the charges. I'm 17 years old and slightly worried about the hearing.
Should I be worried about this? I have two witnesses to this accident. One being my friend who sat in the passenger seat next to me, and the other which is a Tow truck driver who saw the entire thing. I sent the car to the auto body shop right there and then after the police came. And it's good as new now. I'm wondering whether or not I would need to do anything to prepare for this hearing?
Would I need to bring my friend, or contact the tow truck driver? My parents may have to work that day, so I may be alone at the court. Do I need to prepare anything to say?
If I do attend, is there any chance that the charges will be reverse and the blame be put on me?

I was wondering if anyone knew what the deal is with auto insurance after a student graduates from college. I know that once I am no longer a student I lose medical insurance under my parents plan, but is it the same with auto insurance? I'm asking only because I graduated in May and my dad onlyjust mentioned to me that I might not be covered if I got into an accident, which is obviously BAD since it's completely irresponsible to drive without insurance. Any help would be great!
Oh...and I know I could just call the insurance company and ask them, but I don't want to just on the off chance that they decided to immedeitely remove me when I tell them I graduated.
Well I don't have a full time job right now, and I'm working two part time jobs to get by. I don't mind paying them money to keep me on their plan, which they only pay like 200.00 a month for three cars+house insurance, and if I got my own plan it would be like 150.00. I was in an east bound lane and as I approached the intersection the light was green and a car coming from the westbound lane made a left turn into my path. From the day that I bought the car I pointed out a few things that the car needed that I noticed were not right that they told me would be fixed. I have taken the car to Lexus of Kendall a few times because the car promps me that things are not wroking correctly. They have discovered that the car was involved in a car accident and air bags were deployed when it happened. The left front drivers side is where the impact was and Lexus discoverd that wires are servered and the water resevoir tank is cracked due to a collision with poor work done to the inside. I have had the car for three months now. Is there anything that I can do to have the contract voided and all money invested in the car returned to me? Should I seek legal help. I have a good feeling that the dealership knew the car had problems because they dont answer my phone calls, neglect to call me back and dont serve me! Please help.

My fiance and 2 children (2 & 1) got into an auto accident on the 18th of this december. There are no immediate injuries but my fiance is suffering from neck and back pain causing lack of sleep and my children are suffering from psycological damage. My son is constantly talking about how he is scared of the "broken car" and they are both having nightly nightmares. We are considering a child psycholigist (please mind the spelling errors). Are these things worth compensation? Should we contact an attorney considering that these damages are "soft"? I know that "pain and suffering" is the label these injuries are under but is asking an insurance company to compensate my possibly years worth of shrink visits and associated expenses feasible? Any help would be worth it.
Resolved Question: Question for people in the auto body business - Can you hide someones deductible?
I was recently in a car accident. I took the car to a place who fixed my bumper a few months ago when I was rear-ended.
My car has over $6000 in damage and it is just a preliminary estimate!
I asked the guy to hide some or all of the $500 deductible and he said NO!
He said anyone who hides the deductible does so at the expense of the customer - meaning I would not get a quality job!
Can you and do you hide the deductible for your customers?

After his accident they told me the motorcycle policy was cancelled due to non payment. When we bought the policy it was for our 2 vehicles and the motorcycle.Vehicles on one policy, motorcycle on the other. We gave the agent a check and told he to have monthly payments taken out of our account. two months later I recieved a refund check and was told the motorcycle had been cancelled due to non-payment. i informed the idiots that they had set it up to come out of our account just like our auto insurance. The agent said she would mail it back to the insurance co and the policy would be reinstated and payment would come out of our account.( i saved the check stub were she wrote exactly where she was mailing it to and who she spoke with) Two months later he gets in his accident and come to find out they never recieved the check, policy was never reinstated because the agent should have written a new policy instead of just mailing payment and saying the ploicy would be reinstated. I think the insurance company and agent was negligent and they should cover the $7000 damage done to his bike. They are not wanting to pay so i'll need to take them to small claims court

I was recently in an auto accident, the other party was totally at fault, I have eye witnesses that can confirm. I've had a really difficult past few months and I let my auto insurance lapse unintentionally , totally irresponsible of me I admit it. I did get cited by the police for having no insurance, but that's all.
With the exception of the nice fat fine I'll have to pay (definitely will keep me on my toes about auto insurance in the future), is there anything else I'm liable for? Will his insurance still have to pay for repair of my vehicle (the shop put it at 97% totaled, so it might just get totaled)?
I'm not in California, I'm in Guam.
They don't revoke your license here, and I was not given a ticket by the police at the time of the accident. The car was towed to a lot of my choice, so it's not impounded.

I've got a question concerning public records for accident / other types of reports. I'm currently working on a paper detailing the number of reports filed for offenses & accidents versus how many of these are actually resolved (i.e. acts of vandalism, hit / run etc.). I currently reside in Wake County, North Carolina. I'm wondering if this kind of thing is a matter of public record. For instance, if someone reports an act of vandalism to the police department / county, is there a way of finding these reports & whether or not they've been resolved or are still open ? I'm currently undecided on how I want to focus my paper (strictly on auto accidents or a specific type of criminal offense), but I was wondering if there is a place where I can access this kind of information to get started. I've checked the Wake County website, but can't find much to go on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was in a residential area, waiting for my uncle to get home so I can drop off my aunt. My uncle turned into the street and was about 6 houses away and coming towards me (facing each other). A car going about 35, Runs into my driver side mirror. Keeps going about 2 houses down after I honk my horn. She (the other driver) puts it in reverse. And she came out and saw that she hit my side mirror. Attempted to fix it, (just the mirror fell off, 1 clip is broken along with the motor is messed up) after failing, we attempted to exchange information. She then said, she didn't have her license with her. I asked for insurance and registration. She didn't have either of those. So I asked for her house address, she wrote it down. And when I received it, between the house number was an "or." She stated that she wasn't sure what the number was. Seeing her house was close, I followed her to the house. My uncle followed me to the house, and asked the lady if she knew that driving without a license is illegal, the lady responded by, "I'm 69 years old, I have been in America (We are Asian) longer than you, I know more than you." She told us to come in, and I then attempted to get a phone number, she then told me she didn't have a number. I saw her daughter go next door, I asked if I could get their number (thinking it was friends/family related). The neighbors only had a cell phone, and she didn't know it on the top of her head. What I told her was, since you don't have a number, I am requesting you to contact me at either 10 AM or 7 PM each day to stay in contact. Ensuring there wont be an conflicts. We left the house, and from there the lady whom had hit me, continued away in her car. (not surprising). I went back to my uncles and called the non-emergency number, and the operator said, my options were to file it as a hit and run cause she was unable to cooperated with half of Oregon's law (not carrying the essentials). But the thing is, if I were to do that I would put my family in danger cause the other driver lives in a poor neighborhood meaning revenge can happen. By filing it as a hit and run, the police would suspend her license. I did get her to sign a paper stating she did hit my vehicle on this date and time.
Sorry for the long format. But my question is, I know that my way of approaching this may be wrong, but it is again my first accident, and having this tough one does not make it any easier.
To sum the situation up, the other driver didn't have her license, insurance, registration nor a phone number. If I file a hit and run, it puts my family in danger cause the other driver knows where my family lives. It is a lower poverty class and that area is known for crime. As stated, I did get her to sign a paper stating she did hit my vehicle.
What I decided to do is, my friend said he can install the whole driver side mirror for me for free. So tomorrow I am going to go get an estimate from a shop. Then go to an auto part store to get an estimate of the part. Once the other driver calls, I will meet with her, explaining that my friend is willing to install the mirror for me. This is what it would cost at a shop, while the part is this much. I am doing her a huge favor by not spending more on the labor. Not to mention the favor of not reporting it to the police.
If anyone can help with this situation it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking into a new insurance carrier, currently with AAA. I'm financing my car and I am not sure what the minimum coverages are that I am required to have(or even what I have right now), but I think it's 50/100.
Also, my PIP coverage will differ in cost depending on whether or not my personal health insurance covers my costs if I am in an auto accident. I have HAP HMO and I cannot find any information in my account about being covered in a car accident.
I don't want to switch insurance without knowing these couple things. I hope this all made sense.
