Open Question: Career Advice - Post Law Degree in UK?
I am studying for a law degree in the UK. Currently in my final year and I just don't know what to do after. I am not keen on the LPC and It would be too late to apply now anyway. I have looked into licensed conveyancing but I was shocked at the salary of £15,000 and average of £30,000 when fully qualified. Although it did state up to £50,000 if you get a 'full' license and practice self-employed or for your own company.
I am interested in land law, landlord & tenant. I also thought about agency law (such as football agent) and aviation law (never studied at all) but have no idea how to get into this.
Im looking online every day for possible careers. Basically I am aiming for a 2:1 law degree and want to get into a good job with a good wage. I really thought a law degree would pay off but so far I have been concentrating on passing the course rather than what to do after. Its really getting to me that I dont know what to do.
Any advice appreciated. My qualifications are decent without being brilliant. I dont have practical experience but have decent GCSE's with a B grade in core subjects and three A-levels C,C,D in Law,History and ICT respectively. Not exceptional grades by any means but I have worked hard to get this far it does not come to me naturally like it may do to others.

Open Question: A sort of survey/question for aviation enthusiats?
I need to ask a few questions for people who have been to airshows in places such as farnborugh (I need to do this for my GCSE technology coursework) . Some of the questions may be a bit personal. What age group are you?, what occupation are you in?What do you do in your spare time? What sort of gadgets do you own? General interests?
and also do you think that aircraft fumes do affect peoples health and environment just like car fumes? ( especailly in airshows where the area is congested with planes!)

Open Question: Is it possible to borrow money for school and also money to help me live while I go to school?
I live in Michigan and am looking to possibly attend Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology. This school is the 2nd best Aviation Tech school in the nation, but it also costs $30,000 to attend for 20 months. My problem is that I have a mortgage payment and utilities to pay for. This school is 5 days a week 8 hours a day, for 20 months straight, no time off except weekends. It is about 45 minutes from my home, so obviously this leaves little room to work full-time. My question is, can I borrow the monies needed for school, plus an additional $20,000 to help me live while going to school? I know this is alot to borrow but this is a career that I really want to pursue and my uncle tols me he has a job for me as soon as I get my schooling done, starting at $68,000 a year. Do I have any options? Can I borrow this much and how?

Open Question: What should I do to redeem work reputation, get more respect, and earn promotion?
I work in an aviation production work environment with men, half prior military, half locals who either worked their way up through experience or vocational certifications. I am male myself and we all pass the time by cutting on eachother. everyone dishes it out everyone takes it, that's just the way it goes. Sometime early in my 3 years here, I was disliked by a supervisor. I only found out that I was "blackballed" after I changed shifts voluntarily about 8 months ago. All the while, I was expecting a promotion. I asked my new boss what I could do to improve, but he wasn't familiar enough with the expectations of my job to know so he said he would ask my immediate managers and get back to me which lead nowhere. As of now, I am watching many people with less experience who do shotty work being promoted to the level I am working toward within their first year. I fear that I am being unfairly overlooked, disrespected, and trapped. Quitting is not an option because I enjoy the job itself, and nothing else in the area pays as well without a degree. I feel strongly that everyone should respect eachother enough to back off if the teasing starts to be taken too hard. I don't hit below the belt when cutting on people, but I'm afraid this is being percieved as weakness therefore costing me respect and reputation. It wouldn't be a big deal if being well liked wasn't a larger factor in promotion than quality, experience, and work ethic. I realize that HR is in place to help rectify these kind of issues, but being that I am a participant in the teasing, I really can't bring a revolution down on my work place without becoming a prime target from HR and my coworkers. My new boss on the shift has recommended me for promotion, which is good, but I had to prove myself worthy of the next level in order to achieve the one I feel I've deserved for years. I was recently evaluated as "average" even though I was asked to fill in for the floor managers over the holidays over 3 others who outranked me and 4 who didn't. What should I do? I feel like the boss would view an honest share of my concerns as me being a baby and looking a gift horse in the mouth for not being satisfied with my average yet promotable status. Should I start making demands? Any advice is welcome, but let's try and stay away from finger pointing.
Resolved Question: To any Army helicopter pilots, or anyone who knows about flight structures in the army?
I'm applying for a program to let me fly helicopters in the army, and I have a warrant officer board coming up. I looked up some things to prepare for it, and a site told me that I should be familiar with the various organizational structures of the army (i.e. brigades, companies, regiments, etc.). I tried the goarmy website but couldn't find the flight details. Any help? How many people, how many structures are within each one (i.e. 2-5 battalions in a brigade), and specifically dealing with aviation. Flight wings, flight regiments, anything and everything
There are two boards. The first, i suppose, is more like a job interview. The second will be asking me about this and other things

Open Question: Aerospace Engineer Vs. Commercial Pilot?
Ok first i want to thank anyone who took their time helping me with this, as i am quiet confused at the moment and greatly appreciate any help.
So here is the deal...
Im 21, got a couple of diplomas in Aerospace and Aero system engineering.
Have been in aviation since i have been 15, and got about two years Aircraft maintenance exp.
Now, i have two job offers from different major airlines:
1st Aircraft Technician
2nd Cadet Pilot Training followed by a 5 year contract starting as first officer.
Now i have worked in the aviation field before and flow en before and anyone that has been behind a Control stick would agree that there is nothing like flying. BUT i have never flown commercially...
Will my job take up all my personal life?
How long do you have to layover during a trip?
How many flights are you required to fly?
I mean being a pilot is exciting and challenging but what do you have to leave behind?
Thats where i start thinking maybe option one is the right choice with your normal 9-5 and just keep getting licenses and type ratings until you can compete with a salary of a piot...
again i want to thank everyone that answers/ helps me here.

I work for a publishing house and we are contracted with The Mail, The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Times. We produce special interest reports and distribute with these titles (different subject matters are tailored to the readerships of the designated paper) nationally. Obviously, it's you, the reader, that has the choice to read any kind of supplement or report. Which titles or subjects do you think more attention should be warranted to? Any kind of ideas are welcomed, from health to business to entertainment, i.e. 'Economized motoring'; 'Hepatitis'; 'Aviation', etc. Thank you for your suggestions
Open Question: What do you think of this name?
Avia Augustine
It's kind of like Aviator which is what my family does, aviation. And Augustine is just a very pretty, very rare girl name my family loves. So we got the name Avia Augustine. Maybe as a little kid she could have the nickname "Avi"or something.
The other name that if I ever has a girl is Vera Barkley-Gault,
PLEASE don't not say anything about that name that is bad. It's my late grandmother's name, we are from strong Dutch origin and that name have been in the family for years. Plus, the name Vera is gorgeous.
But what do you think of the name Avia Augustine?
No, I only want opinion on "Avia Augustine" not Vera :)

Resolved Question: Can I get a loan for an out of state college for about 100,000?
I'm in need of advice! I want to major in air traffic control, but it is not available in my state! I really wanted to go to alaska to study ATC( 3rd best school for aviation technology). Can I get a loan to get out of new jersey and go to alaska to get my degree? Tuition would be almost $100,000 !!! I would need that full loan....now after looking at all this I have another few questions..
1.
Is it really worth it going to college for four years to make 70,000-136,000 annually ( after graduating) and have to pay a 100,000 loan??
2.
How long would I have to pay the loan off?!?!?
3.
Should I just forget college?
- Oh also I would pay for my dorm room and food and stuff with my money from my part time job, while in college
- Also after I graduate I MOST LIKELY ( depending if there's job openings) would like to stay in Alaska for the rest of my life !
Please help...thanks in advance.
Thanks first poster, you answered all the bottom questions but forgot the main one... I would appreciate if some could answer:

Voting Question: Should I try pursue a life in music or call it quits?
For about ten years now I have been in love with everything that is involved with music and touring (yes even those 1 month tours with no money or a place to stay). When I was 16 I went on tour playing guitar for a band for 2 1/2 months but soon had to quit for school. I have been recording my own stuff and working with a few guys I know who have gone to school for recording/producing for a few months now. Since I was 12 I have played in bands and thought it was what I was going to do with my life. Now I am a senior in high school and I am doing everything I can to make it work. My problem is I would like to do something with military aviation if music never worked out and soon I have to choose to sign that dotted line so they will pay for college. In my mind it is 100% worth it to go toward a career in music, but i just have to think logically as well. This might not seem like a big decision to some...but to me it is the biggest decision I have ever had to make in my entire life. Just the thought of music makes me want to drop everything in my current life and go make it happen. I mean music is my life and I honestly can't see me doing anything else with my life. It's not that I can't do something else...its just that I've always known that this was what I was going to do. Basically I just don't know what I should do so I thought I would ask people I don't know and ask their honest opinions. Thanks for any help I can get : )
-Ryan
Well so far I have got some answers that have boosted my confidence so much. Haha I figured most people would say "go to college" or something like that along the lines of what my dad would say. I also got a really helpful answer from someone who went into military aviation and played music...but I have a different look on life. I believe that if music is what I am going to do then I should go for it 100% and not wait on anything. I mean honestly it's close to impossible for me to finish my senior year and instead just write music. I know there are 100,000,000 other people have the same dream, but I really believe that I have a somewhat different passion for a life in music than the majority of those people that will keep me on track to be a musician...or maybe I'm just odd ; )
Thanks again everyone
Oh yeah and nelliphant...Thank you for your post and you helped me realize another thing. There is not one doubt in my mind whatsoever. I really hope whoever else has this feeling and dream will do the same thing I dream to do because I can't begin to imagine what it would feel like to not pursue this dream.

Resolved Question: What better perks does US Army have compared to Navy?
I'm a female active duty sailor for 2 years, E3, and is currently thinking about joining the blue to green program. I love traveling with the Navy but I can't feel the pride and my morale sinks when i'm on the ship. Months of staying on shore makes me love the Navy.
Should i just stay in the Navy and give myself a chance to feel the Navy pride or should i move to army and give me the sense of pride every soldier feels in the service?
I just don't feel proud with working on the ship and aviation fields in the Navy.

Voting Question: Questions for airline pilots....?
I am a high school senior and am currently pursuing my private pilots license and am exploring career options. I love flying and recently flew in an airline aircraft. I decided that my love for aviation and traveling would make this a great career for me, I just have a couple questions that I would like answered by an airline pilot. Does the career get old, or is there something different every time? Do you fly the same route every day? And, do you have to move and live close to a major airport as your home base? Thanks in advance for your answers....
Voting Question: Hi, about being a pilot?
Hi, i would like to be an airline pilot but my dad keeps on telling me to be either an air traffic controller or to go in to a different profession altogether? I do not want a job outside of aviation and i would only be an air traffic controller to save up for pilot licences? Being a pilot is all i want to do, but my dad keeps telling me the training to become an airline pilot can cost thousands of pounds but it is likely to only take a few years to pay it all off once you are at a major airline. What do you think i should do.
Thanks for your help
