Related articles from Yahoo AnswersOpen Question: If someone offers to help with your baby shower, should you expect them to pay for it?
Sorry if this is very long, but I wanted to make sure everyone got a bit of an understanding of what I’m going through. I am a first time mom, so all this is very new to me. My sister and sister-in-law (brother's sister) were asking me about having a baby shower and I asked them if they would want to help. I'm not sure if this is where the confusion started since I asked them if they 'wanted to help' versus 'wanting to throw me a shower'. They both have 2 children, so I figured they would know how things work.
I assumed from the beginning that I was supposed to be paying for everything. They never told me any different. They offered to help pay for some things and I was very grateful. However, EVERYONE was asking me why I was paying anything towards my own baby shower when I started talking about budgeting for it. At one point, my sister even told me that she didn't think I understood how showers work and that I was supposed to sit back and let them handle everything. She said 'let us handle this, we're the ones that have done this before'. So, they basically wanted me to sit back and let them plan everything at mostly my expense. I didn't know any better. I didn’t know that in their eyes a baby shower was white linens and catered food with little or no games or decorations. They were talking about taste testing the caterer foods and one of them even spent $90 on lotions, soaps, and little prize gifts for the 25-30 people I wanted to invite (after I mentioned I wanted to have games). I had no idea they thought a baby shower was this way or that they would spend that kind of money just on gifts for the guests. They paid for the lotions, prize gifts, and cake, so I didn't complain. As least not yet.
But every idea I had, they disagreed with. They even stepped on my toes and almost screwed the FREE facility I was able to work out for the place to have the party. Finally, I asked them as nicely as I could about the fact that people were saying I'm not supposed to pay for my shower. They, of course, were quick to say they couldn't pay for everything because of the economy, etc. And, that they could only put in about $150 each, which they had already spent most of just on the lotions, gift prizes, and a cake. They even said that both of them paid for their baby showers themselves and that they thought I was crazy to think they would be able to pay for everything. (I found out later that each of them had TWO baby showers, with at least one of the showers totally funded by someone else).
Personally, I was thinking of a cheap cake and some cute cheap party favors for less than $50. Maybe, I'm missing something. Hey, I understand that the economy is bad, so I gave them the option to walk away. They didn't want to. So, now I'm forced to look like the bad guy and only allow them to make decisions based on what they are willing to pay for. I can't afford to throw my own baby shower on their champagne taste. They even asked me if I could ask my husband's side of the family to help financially with the baby shower. I refused. I do not think it is my place to ask people for money for my shower. I felt bad enough having to have this conversation with THEM about money. They couldn’t understand that I saw no point in throwing a shower if the cost of the shower was going to be the same or more than the cost of the gifts I would receive. I get the feeling they are more about the ‘look at me’ factor than the actual purpose of having a baby shower. I actually would love to just cancel it and buy the baby stuff myself, but I'm trying to not kill my relationship with my sisters totally.
So, I figured if I have to pay for the food and make the crafty items, I shouldn't have to run it by them. I don't have the $400 or more for just the food that they were originally planning for. If I spent that on food, I couldn’t buy the plates to put the food on!!! In my mind, when I thought I was supposed to be paying for it, I was only wanting to spend $300 AT THE MOST to throw the entire party. Does anyone think I'm being too mean? What would you do in this situation?
Open Question: Why don't they make Children's Birthday Registries?
They make registries for Weddings and Baby Showers, why not make Registries for Kid's Birthdays?
I am sure there are plenty of things a 5 yr. old would like to put on their registry .. why not have a Birthday Registry for kids?
Kids have parties and people bring random gifts .. why not have a registry so the child can pick and choose the things they want? That'd be great for someone shopping for a kid when they have no idea what things kids are into these days ..
If you're going to their party, you're going to bring a gift, what would be so bad about having a registry to look at?
Adults get registries for their big events, why can't kids get the option too?
Open Question: Ideas for a quick crocheted baby blanket?
Does anyone know of any patterns for a quick, but pretty baby blanket? Something light since it's for a spring baby.
I had started an intricate blanket that is slower going that I had thought (I'm a perfectionist, especially when it's a gift) and I just found out the baby shower is less than two weeks away and I've got a lot of stuff going on between now and then.
Thank you!
BTW - I would rate myself as an intermediate crocheter, I've been doing it for years but never tackled anything super complicated before.
Open Question: Would you read this book?
Just imagine a world full of magic and mystery, myths becoming real.
That is what Mike Scholmyer wishes his life was all about, but no he had to be born with pale, freckly skin, overweight, and unsocial. He had no friends, except for his little hamster he had in his room, along with the library in the back of his closet. He loved books he lived in a big mansion with four floors his mom and dad were dicorced and he lived with his mom.
Mike was walking home from school one day and saw Bruce NetGal walking down the street toward him. Mike looked across the street to see Bruce's friends coming to him.
"Jay-walker!" He yelled and ran the oppisite way he was going. When he turned the corner onto Blueberry Lane he saw more of Bruce's friends coming to him. He was trapped he waited at the corner for the beating he always got.
"Hey rich-boy," Bruce said.
"Shut up!" Mike whispered.
"What'd you just say to me?" He asked.
"I said shut up, fatty!" Mike didn't know why he was saying these things. His friends pushed Mike into Bruce. Bruce punched Mike in the nose. Mike started crying.
"What a baby!" Bruce yelled and let Mike fall to the ground, then kicked him in the stomach.
Mike started balling, and for some reason put his hand up and said some words he didn't even know bruce got pushed back into a house.
Mike got up holding his nose wondering what happened. He decided to run before Bruce got up and hit him again.
When Mike came home he planned to go through the kitchen into the bathroom and wipe his bloody nose before his mom saw him. But his mom was in the kitchen ordering their maid to cook cookies, and instantly she saw Mike's nose.
"Mike this is the seventh time this week."
"Mom it's o-"
"I have no choice I have to send you to boarding school away from this Bruce. I've called his mom five times and she doesn't do anything."
Boarding school, Mike thought, not such a bad Idea.
"Ok yeah I'll go." Mike said.
"Good you will leave tommorow."
Mike went upstairs to get packed.
The next morning Mike woke up at 9:00 A.M. his flight left at 11:15 A.M. He went into his bathroom and took a shower and got dressed. got his bag and brang some video games for his psp to play. By the time he did that it was 10:30. His driver took him to the airport. He was in his seat by 11:14. He looked around no one was on the plane except him and the stuartess (or something) then a girl came through the curtain and sat right by him.
"Hi I'm Alicia Cooper who are you?" Mike looked at her bright blue eyes.
"I'm Mike Scholmyer." They shook hands.
Mike found out they wuld be going to the same school. two more people came into the plane and Mike found out that there names were Jake and Jassmin Kittinson they were twins.
Right when they sat in there seat the seat belt sign went on. All four put on there seat belt. then without warning they shot into the air. Mike looked outside to see how high they were but the plane was going to fast.
Then something blurred into vision it was a person. At first Mike thought the person was flying then the person came out of the clouds Mike saw it was a male with something black in his hand. To Mike it looked like a black fire ball he tapped Alicia and told her to look out the window. Mike took off his seat belt, grabbed Alicia's arm and guided her over to the twins.
"Guys we need to tell the pilot that there is some kind of terrorist outside."
"What?" Jake asked. he got up and looked through the window and saw the man. The man looked straight at Jake and threw the fire ball at the plane.
"Move!" Jake screamed. They ran to the front of the plane.
BOOM! they heard behind them.
They looked in the pilot's chair no one was in there they were alone. they went back to where their seats were but now it was just air. Alicia feinted Jake picked her up with Mike's help. They saw the ground advancing toward them Mike said some words by instinct and they plummeted to the ground. And then it was black.
Jack woke up in a hospital bed. He had a huge headache. he looked over to see Alicia in the bed next to him. She looked at him and smiled. Jake and Jassmin were asleep in chairs next to the beds. He tried to get out of bed but his back was sore.
An old man came in and said, "Hello are you finally awake?"
"Who are you?" Mike asked.
"Mace Stormbringer."
"Oh ok where are we?"
"You are at SpringWater Boarding school for gifted children."
Jassmin yawned. "Oh your a wake!" She got up and hugged Mike and then Alicia.
"Gifted what do you mean gifted? There's nothing special about me." Mike said.
"Tell me, has anything weird happened to you lately?"
"Well yeah I accidentally pushed a bully across the street." Mike said.
"I made my little brother disapear." Alicia said.
"Nope." Jassmin said.
"Nope." Jake said.
"Well some mages can't accidentally cast an incantation." Mace explained
That's as far as I got in my story. Rate it 1-10, Critisize me please do anything to

Open Question: Any ideas on what to give?
My mom and a friends mom are throwing us a double baby shower. They are both going to be first time grandmothers. I would like any ideas on a cool gift to present them at the shower as a thank you and congratulations on soon becoming grandmothers.
I'm calling it a double shower because my friend and I are both pregnant so the shower is for both of us, hosted by our mothers who we would like to recognize during the shower
Resolved Question: Host Gift for my Baby Shower... I need ideas!?
My mother and sister are hosting my baby shower next month for me and I want to get them something special. I'm willing to spend about $40 on each. They already have all those "bath & body" products and picture frames and whatnot. I'd like to get them something unique or practical. Any suggestions?
Resolved Question: Do gifts given at a shower have to be opened at the shower?
I'm planning a baby shower for my best friend. She told me awhile back that she's uncomfortable with the idea of everyone staring at her while she opens presents. I was trying to think of a way that we could avoid the official everyone-watch-Jane-open-presents part, but can't think of a polite way to do so. Is there no way around it?
Ellen- yeah, that's what I was thinking- that watching her open the gifts IS part of the basic idea. But then again, I've been to some showers where people have said that that's the boring part. Especially when there are a lot of gifts.
Another idea I just had was maybe to have her open each person's gift as they arrive....that way the guest can see her open it, but it's kind of casual at the same time. And then the opened gifts could be display during the shower. Yay? Nay?
Resolved Question: baby shower etiquette?
Hi all. I have a few questions regarding the number of baby showers and etiquette.
I have 4 people throwing different showers. I feel a little greedy, but they are all separate groups and wanted to throw them for the different groups. I.e. work, friends, family, husband's work. I would combine, but the work ones would not combine well. My husband works in a bar and I work in human services. My family lives on the other side of the state from my friends, so there really is no way to combine that one either. I am only inviting personal friends to the friend shower and only family to the family shower, so people do not think I am trying to get gifts out of them.
Also, I read online that I am supposed to give thank you gifts. What are some cute/good ideas for gifts to give the hostesses?
Resolved Question: I want to throw a baby shower but I have NO idea how to..?
I'm 32 weeks pregnant now and I have friends who are waiting for me to have a baby shower so they can give me gifts. This is my first child and I have NO idea how to set up the shower. I don't have extra money to spend on the baby shower but I know that I need the gifts. What should I do?
Open Question: Mommy Shower for the Third Baby?
I'm throwing my best friend a "Mommy Shower" instead of a baby shower. This is her third baby and she doesn't need anything. I want to have it for her to celebrate the new addition to her family. I want some ideas around invitation wording to let people know to NOT bring baby gifts, but to bring gifts for "the mom" to enjoy after the baby is born.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Resolved Question: UK bride wondering; what are bridal showers all about?
I constantly see people talking about baby showers and bridal showers. In the UK we don't have these. We don't really have engagement parties, we have a hen do, and then the wedding. Most don't have a rehearsal dinner. So I have a few questions:
* Can someone tell me what the idea of a shower is and what happens at one? Who is invited? Just family, just bridesmaids, or just girls?
* From what I understand, it's similar to a bachelorette party, but you have one of those too, so how is it different?
* And you give gifts at a shower? But then you give gifts at a wedding too?
* And what's the difference between an engagement shower and a bridal/wedding shower? Is it me, or are you expected to give couples three sets of gifts (engagement shower, bridal shower and the wedding itself)?
- - -
I'm not trying to be rude, and I'm certainly not implying that US brides are greedy in regards to gifts, so please don't be offended. I just don't understand, but I'd like to. Please explain?
So if you give something at the shower, are you expected to give something else at the wedding?
Resolved Question: Gift giving ideas and issue?
I have a great friend. She is unexpectedly, but happily, pregnant. She is about 9 weeks along. Her b-day is Jan. 27th but she is getting married Feb. 27th. She lives in another state, so I am unable to attend the baby shower when she does have one or the wedding. She is aware of this.
I would like to give her a gift, but I do not have a lot of money. But she has so many things going on right now in her life: a birthday, expected baby and a wedding, that I don't know what to give her! I honestly can't do all 3 right now, not enough money. She also doesn't have a lot of money so it needs to be a good idea and light (cheaper shipping) I'm not big on gift cards, I want to wrap it up and make it look all cute.
Thank You
Can't afford jewelry. I'm thinking something under $40. Like i said, I'm broke right now also... thank you very much for the suggestion though.

Resolved Question: What should i buy for her baby shower gift?
I want to buy my cousin a really good gift for her shower. I can't decide what to get... What would be a really good thoughtful gift... not just diapers.. something a little bigger then that. Any ideas??
Resolved Question: We don't want a baby shower, what would I call the get together?
Hello, I'm currently 37 weeks along and was asked by a sibling and a friend a couple months ago if I wanted to have a shower and if I did, they were willing to throw one for me. To make the story short, Most of my family really doesn't get along with my husband and doesn't show much interest in our soon to be born baby. So, instead of having a shower we want to have a public buffee/lunch get together, where it's not just the women/girls that are allowed to come, but the spouses to come as well too. Also, since we've got the majority of the baby items, we aren't requesting gifts...
So in an invitation, how would this be worded? It's not a baby shower, but an invitation to help celebrate the life of our miracle. Meals will be on the house, and everyone would be responsible for their own beer tab.
Is this appropriate to do? A good idea? Just curios...
Any advice is welcome, thank you
Voting Question: When do you normally register for gifts, classes, and parties?

Resolved Question: All opinions appreciated baby shower gift idea?
Hello my sister is having her baby shower in early january and I want to know if this is a good gift idea or I should stick with something more conventional? Resolved Question: Personalized thank you cards for baby shower gifts?
I am being given 2 baby showers that I know of, one of them is February 21st, I don't know when the other one is yet. I know they are not really coming up soon but I am on bed rest and I started looking up personalized thank you cards because I thought it would be really nice and look like I actually put some thought into them. Anyway, I found this really nice website with nice cards, one in particular that I fell in love with is this one...
http://www.finestationery.com/product.cfm?prod_id=64062&cm_thisCategory=3&cat=3&cat_id=3&subcat_id=837
But in my opinion it is way overpriced! $100 for 50 cards is just insane to me...
So my question is, where can I find similar thank you cards for a much better price? I would really like to personalize the cards with mine and my unborn daughters name but I am not willing to pay that price. Any ideas?
Resolved Question: Do you have any ideas what this might be?
Ok so my wonderfully sweet family threw me a baby shower yesterday. My husband being the sweet loving husband he is brought out the gifts to the car and he tripped over a huge crack in the sidewalk. HE got up and said that he was allright but that night when we went to bed he stayed up all night hacking and throwing up I AM SCARED we took to the hospital and the doctors have yet to diagnose it do you have any ideas
Resolved Question: do you think it's a good gift for baby shower?
Hello mommies I need your inut please. It's ok if you hate this idea because I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not which is why I'm asking first. So my sisters baby shower is coming up and I think I have the perfect gift idea but I'm torn between unconventional and conventional gifts. I want to get her a music box that plays "A whole new world" the song from aladin I thought of this the other day when she was singing it too her belly my aka my neice lol. I'm torn though because it is not practical and won't get much use as say diapers or clothes. However plenty of people will be at the shower and I'm sure many will supply these objects. so what do you think honest opinions please and thank ya

Resolved Question: Baby Shower Ideas?!?!?
I'm almost 20 weeks pregnant, and in a week I'll find out what I'm having. I'm already thinking of having a baby shower some time after all the holidays pass, so people will have time to get over the gift buying season for Christmas and all.
Well I've never been to a baby shower before and this is my first, so i've never had one either. So what do people usually do for their baby shower? I know get a cake and snacks and stuff...people bring gifts lol but how should I entertain my guests?
well it's actually my mom and my b/f's mom who are going to throw the baby shower for me, but i do wanna have a say in some things, like i wanna pick the cake and make the invitations :D, my mom doesn't know much bout baby showers either, so i wanna get some ideas
i know lol i'm not "fishing for gifts" everyone i know is very excited bout my pregnancy, lol one of the reasons is bc i'm the first one out of all the friends' g/f's to get pregnant, so i don't even care whether they bring gifts or not, i just know that most of my friends wanna have a baby too, but their b/fs don't want one yet, so i'd like to give my friends a moment to be happy bout a pregnancy and dream bout having a baby of their own :D
Resolved Question: baby shower gift ideas?

Voting Question: Christmas Gift Ideas for Couple?
My hubby and I are getting a gift for some friends of ours who are a couple. I have no idea what to get them, and I'm not even sure if I had an idea that they would even like it. Plus, we are kinda on a tight budget this year. So, here are some things that might help to know to offer suggestions: They are both in their early 20's, they are both former Marines, and they are expecting their first baby in late April. I do not want to get them something baby related; after all this is Christmas, not a baby shower. We visited them in California this past spring, so I thought maybe a framed picture of the 4 of us, but that seems kinda played out! Does anyone have anything they think would be nice? I appreciate it...Merry Christmas!!!
Resolved Question: Baby shower presents?
I wasn't going to have a baby shower this time round as its my second baby and basically I have everything (from before or already bought new).
My best friend last night announced that she is throwing me a baby shower and asked what she could tell people to get as gifts. Yikes!!
Any ideas?? I have all the clothes and toys i could possibly need. Its really sweet of her and my friends to do this and I suggested that maybe we should just go out for lunch and not have presents but my best friend insisted.
Any ideas would be great!

Resolved Question: Secret santa help, please! (10 pts!)?
So, every year me and my cousins put our families name in a bowl, and pick names for secret santa. One of my cousins recently had a baby boy (November 8, 2008), who's name is Shaun. I picked my name for secret santa, and it happened to be Shaun. I have absolutely no idea what to get him. Clothes, he will quickly grow out of, all the toys he needs he got from the baby shower. If you guys have any cool ideas for a newborn christmas present, it'd be greatly appreciated!!
Oh, and by the way the rules are:
-minimum $25
-no gift cards
Thanks guys!
By the way, i'm 15. If that'd make a difference, lol.
Resolved Question: Any baby shower ideas? ?
My best friend aka (Sister-4-Life) is having a baby due in April...she's a teen mother, and we as her bestest friends are planning to give her a "surprise" baby shower. However we need more ideas...I have few planned here they are...
1. Select a theme for the shower....she likes Bratz and she is 15.....
2. Create your own decorations. place a framed photo of the parents-to-be on the gift table for a personal touch. Be sure to provide the mother-to-be with her own special chair next to the gifts and mark it by tying Balloons at the entrance.
4.Make a memorable centerpiece, Diaper cake or A stuffed animal in a basket with baby stuff surrounding it.
5.Decide on the menu. It can simply be cake and punch, chicken wings, Finger foods, sandwiches, fruit or fresh vegetable tray, Nachos and dip, chips n dip, assorted cubed cheeses and crackers, chicken salad, cookies, deviled egges. pasta salad.
6.Plan a variety of games: Some more active games are "Baby Hot Potato" where you pass a baby doll around a circle while you play a lullaby. Whoever is holding the baby when the music stops is out. Keep going until one person is left. Or "Diaper a Doll while Blind-folded." All you need is a doll, a diaper and safety pins and a dark blind-fold. "Baby Bottle Drink-off" is a hilarious game."
7.Gift Ideas for the mommy-to-be a thermometer, pacifiers, bottle, formula, liners (depending on the bottles preferred by mom), nail clipper kit, washcloths, hair brush and comb, travel bag dispenser that gives you a small bag to put dirty diapers into, a new outfit, burp cloth, nasal aspirator, a few diapers, and wipes. Johnson&Johnson also makes a take along pack that has travel size sampling of shampoo, desitin, lotion, powder, baby wash, and a soothing naturals nourishing lotion. Photo Album.
Make a coupon book good for:
•Whenever you need a baby sitter
•1 afternoon babysitting
•1 evening babysitting
•1 afternoon of errand-running
Baby tree- Make something that could hold money for the new born baby
What do you all think, are there anymore ideas for the theme, food, decorations, and how to set it up well for the surprise. I was thinking of holding it at our school in the commons area. Over by that way its a cafeteria where she can go and she will not see anything. That way they can make their way down that trail and then she will open her eyes and see what we have planned.
Resolved Question: Shopping for baby, at a total loss?
I have $50 to spend on my son, plus a $20 Target gift card. I have no idea what to get. My family is going crazy and buying pretty much everything (car seat, stroller, crib, etc), I don't even need 0-3 clothes (except a few pairs of pants and "going out" shirts, you know, not just a plain onesie, but Mom is excited about getting those). I have my shower in January sometime and am not due until Feb 28.
Any suggestions?
Aw please, I ignored "giftfromgod". I love my (4 week old picture) bump! And there's even more to love now!!
Resolved Question: I need original ideas for a Nascar-themed baby shower?
Congratulations to me! This is my first babby shower and I want everything to go just right. My theme is Nascar (Jeff Gordon of course!). Anyone have any good decorating ideas? My whole house is already full of his posters and neon signs from his sponsors so I won't have to do much more, but I thought some rebel flags would be cute.
I'll need to bring in some extra cash to pay for my generosity- should I have a Chinese auction, a raffle, or a 50/50 drawing? Or all three? I have a brand new George Foreman grill (free with Sam's Club credit card lol) to raffle off, and a set of Jeff Gordon snow globes. Also a set of Taz & Mrs Taz Looney Toons salt & pepper shakers that I never opened 'cause they're collectibles. Should I raffle these items individually or in a gift basket?
And for the menu...I was thinking Doritos and french onion dip, and corndogs? What do they normally serve at showers- finger foods or a home-cooked meal? What kind of beer should I get? Many of my friends are overweight so probably a light beer for them, and some celery sticks to munch on. What are some good drinking games for a shower?
Last of all...some of my friends are really struggling, and I know they can't afford to buy me anything from my registry. I invited them anyway, and if they win the raffle, should I make them give me back the prize? Since they're not bringing me a baby gift?
Oh and invitations...did you make or buy yours? Any cute ideas for hand-made invites?
Thanks everyone!
Resolved Question: 2nd Baby and a baby shower....?
So I found out a couple days ago Im having another girl. My daughters will be 16.5 months apart (Approx). I have kept all of my 1st daughters clothes and will be able to reuse just about everything (except diapers and that kind of thing). A friend of mine, who threw my first shower with a mutual friend, said theyd throw me another shower for this baby. I kind of feel weird about having another shower...God knows I dont need anymore clothes and I know people love to bring clothes...Another friend of mine suggested having the baby shower but making it more of a "big sister" party for my 1st daughter (people bring her gifts)...Does anyone have any opinions? Do you think it should be strictly "baby shower" and just request it be "diapers, wipes, etc" or do you think a "big sister" party is a better idea?

Resolved Question: baby shower ideas please?
I need ideas for a baby shower. I have never hosted one before, but the ones I've gone to have been pretty dorky. My best friend, the mom-to-be, is really laid back and would hate the boring games one is usually forced to play at these parties. I want it to be fun and mellow, and I am renting out a little coffee house that will provide food and drinks, but other than eating, and opening gifts, what can we do?
Voting Question: What Would Be a Good Gift to Give Guests at a Baby Shower? I'm Not the Hostess I'm the Showeree! :)?
I know I don't have to give gifts, but I really want to give just a little something to show that I really appreciate everyone's help and support as I bring this new baby into the world! I will still be writing thank you notes of course, but I wanted to send them home with a little something. My shower is today, so it has to be something I can swing in the next few hours and I don't have a lot of money to spend! Thanks for your ideas! :)
Resolved Question: Double baby shower for work?
I am pregnant and my co-workers wife is pregnant. We are due about 2 weeks apart. Does anyone have any suggestions for handling a baby shower. I hate to have 2 separate showers. Then the guests are buying 2 presents and then if we have a double shower, they are also buying double gifts. Any ideas on how to make this fun for both, but not too costly for the other co-workers.
Resolved Question: I need some ideas for a baby shower?
My sister is having a boy, and we are already making like the shower cake, punch, a fruit platter, and veggie tray, finger sandwiches. what else would be good for a baby shower?
**Also we need games to play and win a small gift.
** I also need to know on the decorations anything other than blue and white balloons, and streamers?
Resolved Question: Thank you note etiquette?
I work at a school, and my job had a baby shower for me. I gave birth before getting my thank you notes written. I will not be back to work until February 18 when my 12 weeks of FMLA are over. Should I just mail the thank you notes to the school, or can I bring them back with me when I return in February.
Also, some coworkers gave me individual gifts, and others all chipped in towards a very generous gift card. I know who gave individual gifts, but I have no idea who contributed toward the gift card. Is it appropriate to have one generic thank you card to the school at large, and individual cards to people who bought me separate gifts or should I just do the generic thank you card and say something like, "Thank you all for the generous gift card, and for the many individual gifts."?
Resolved Question: Baby shower gifts for pregnant instructor?
Any ideas, I was thinking about the "sleep pony" books and and maybe something else....
Resolved Question: Gift for shower hostess? ?
My baby shower is this weekend-just a small get together thrown at my coworker's (the host) house. She's an avid reader so I was planning on getting her a nice thank you card with a $25 gift certificate to barnes and noble. Do you think that's a good idea?
Resolved Question: Move in together shower?
Okay... so people have bridal showers and baby showers. I was curious to know if there is such a thing called a move in shower? My boyfriend and I are planning on moving in together in about four months. We'll have enough money, but we thought maybe it would be a good idea to have a party. That way we can get some gifts to start us off in our new apartment.
Any opinions?
Resolved Question: My boyfriend's sister is having a baby shower. Cute baby girl gift ideas? Help Please! :)?
I want it to be unique, preferably homemade, but it doesnt matter. It's a girl, so it should be really cute and girly. I live in a small town, so I dont have many materials to work with, Wal-Mart is about all we got here. I just wanna put something cute together. Help would definetely be appreciated. thanks! :)
