  • Open Question: My rental condo is in FORECLOSURE... the bank offers me cash!??!?
hey everyone... Just got home from a 2 week vacation... I have been renting a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo in Orange County California for about 2 years now. Yesterday morning someone brought over a paper informing me that the condo went under foreclosure and I have 60 days to move... This is the first I have heard of this... you can not see the door numbers clearly on the door so maybe they have posted some papers on someone else's door and it never found the correct location, or maybe the wind, who knows.... in any case here is what happened... after finding out our home will soon be taken out from under us and checking the mailbox after our 2 week vacation and finding more info about the foreclosure im pretty sure its solid. I tried to contact the land lord MANY TIMES with no results... I have paid my $2,300 rent at the 1st of this month and the check was cashed on the 2nd... im pretty much thinking that im 100% screwed... the letters say that the condo was purchased by another Bank and not a private party or individual... this morning I get a call from the guy in charge of the newly acquired real estate who is in direct contact with the bank... He tells me that the bank is willing to offer me a set amount of cash to help me move.... i tell the guy that i am just a renter and i dont own the property and he tells me that, "If you were the owner the bank would not offer you this, they would just kick you out"... so he asked me if i was interested in the offer and I told him that ,"I already paid rent, why not?!" so he told me that he would talk with the bank and get back to me soon.... not long after that they guy calls me back and tells me that the bank is willing to offer me $3,000 to move out within 30 days... I told him that $3,000 will barely cover moving expenses and not even cover security deposit on a new place and first and lasts months... I countered for $4,000 if they really wanted to help... my paper says i have 60 days.... bank is offering me cash for keys within 30 days... i think they are willing to pay the $3,000 to get me out sooner so i dont destroy the property... is this common for the bank to offer money? if so, dont mean to sound greedy but how much might i be able to ask for... this whole move is going to cost more then i can imagine... plus giving into account that I have been renting a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo in Orange County California for about 2 years now. I was doing Home Loans before the market went under and now I own a semi successful web design company. I pretty much only make enough for rent between my girl friend and I and since the market crash I now have bad credit from my previous High Cost of living expenses and my GF's credit isn't too hot as well. I have ALWAYS paid my rent in time but getting in contact with the "land lord" has been impossible... they are my only hope for a positive review on my excellent rental history for when I move into a new place. Now with having BAD CRDT and NO RENTAL HISTORY and also to make things worse... NO SECURITY DEPOSIT.... i dont really know what I am to do... thanks in advance for the advice.

  • Open Question: I have some questions about Bankruptcy Chapter 7 (state of TN)?
I am going to have to file Bankruptcy Chapter 7. I've tried everything to avoid it. There's no other choice. I'm trying to find a lawyer to choose. Before I file though, I have a few questions. 1) I have a credit card that has a little bit of credit left on it. A lot of people are telling me to go ahead & use that credit & get me some clothes, things I need. Before I file. Is that okay to do? I'm a person that wants to follow the law. Is there one stating you can't use a credit card right before filing bankruptcy? 2) I'll be getting back my income tax w/in the next month or so. I really need it to get my car fixed & do some other important things. It's money I'm going to need (including having to use it to pay for the lawyer). But if it's in my checking account, can they count that as "income" or can they take that money from me (Chapter 7)? If so, wouldn't it look bad if I withdrew it all as soon as it was deposited & they saw my bank statement saying so? I want to do this right, but I want to know what all I can legally still do (like spending a credit card right before filing & if my income tax in my checking will hurt me or be taken from me). Any other advice is appreciated. Thank you!
  • Voting Question: Can I fix my bad credit?
Hi, I am a 27 year old single mother and I am wondering if there is any way that I can still save my credit. When I was 18 I went crazy with credit cards and when I was about 19 I lost my job and was not able to pay any of them back. I got to a point where I just gave up because I thought I would never be able to pay them back. I am constantly receiving bills from law firms and one of them has even frozen my checking account. I am finally in a place in my life where I can afford to pay all of them back (I figured the total amount I owe is probably around 11K) but I am wondering if it is worth it or if I should file bankruptcy. I would like to purchase a house in about 5 years so I need to get this settled. Any advice?
  • Open Question: Bounced check mysteriously cashed again - glitch?
I have multiple accounts with a large bank. I accidentally wrote a check, to pay a friend of mine, from a check book belonging to one of the old and now inactive accounts I have with this bank. My friend deposited it in his credit union account. After 2 weeks, his credit union sent him back a copy of this check stating a reject code of "Unable to locate account" My friend contacted me and told me that his credit union has charged him $15 for a bounced check. When he gave me the account number and check# for the check which I wrote him, I realized that it was not one of my active accounts with the bank. (Also the money was still sitting in my checking account) So I apologized and sent him another check via automatic bill payment. This amount was immediately deducted from my checking account and my friend got the money when he deposited this check. However after a week or so, my friend again contacted me saying that the first check (from the inactive account) I wrote him, has also been successfully honored and now he has twice the money in his account. I was clueless as I don't see any debit from any of my active accounts for the amount of the bounced check. My friend wrote me a check again to return the amount of bounced check. I have looked at all my active accounts but can't locate any debits in that amount.I have still not deposited the check my friend gave me, as I want to do more research going thru my accounts again. Is it possible that this happened because of automatic overdraft protection which my account has? Should I contact my bank? Will I or my friend be in any trouble if this happened because of a glitch in the credit union's systems which they uncover it shortly? My intention to write a check to my friend from a check book which is old (and inactive) were really legitimate and it was purely accidental. Since then I have torn apart that bad check book, so such errors don't happen in future. My question is whether I should deposit the check my friend gave me and let the bank and credit union figure out what happened OR should I contact my bank to update them about this situation? Can this be considered as bank fraud or something serious like that which can get me or my friend in trouble? If that's the case, I would like to know that before I deposit that check and cash it. Thanks for the reply! Like any other human, I have the temptation not to report this to my bank if this happened purely because of an error in the banking system and if it is not illegal in any way. (The amount is pretty significant, almost $4K and hence the temptation :-) It's been almost 2 weeks now and I am thinking of waiting another few more weeks to see if either my bank or my friend's credit union finds about it. My question is whether waiting few weeks to find out whether the 2 banks find out anything about it is a good option without violating any laws

  • Resolved Question: What is overdraft line of credit?
When I signed up for my online checking i was given the option to choose from $0-$1000 overdraft line of credit, but i chose $0. Overdraft Line of Credit You currently have an Overdraft Line of Credit of $0.00. If you need to use your line of credit, there is no fee; you will just pay a variable competitive interest rate of 7.25% on the amount you need. My question is what exactly is overdraft line of credit and what is it good for. Was it a bad choice for me to have chosen $0? does it matter? does having a bigger amount help me? is there any benefits? does any of this help or worsen my credit score? does it even get reported to credit report companies? this is just an online interest checking account. if i never get overdrafted is it fine if i just have a $0 overdraft line of credit? i don't get what that 7.25% means. please help explain what this overdraft line of credit means. and is it good to have a higher amount? i currently choose to get $0 overdraft line of credit what does that mean?
  • Resolved Question: I just received a check that I don't know where it came from in the mail? Do I cash it or not?
It came in the mail via DHL and was written on December 3, 2008. It has a name and address on the package where it came from and it has my full name and address as the recipient. The check is for $3,800.35. Now I did apply for a mystery shopper job so that could be it but the name doesn't match up. The bank is "Navy Federal Credit Union" and it seems legit. I've heard about what can go wrong if I cash it at a check cashing place so I'm thinking of putting into my account to see if it is a bad check or not. I tried calling the number on the package and it said that it was disconnected and I tried calling the bank and never got an answer (too busy). What should I do?

  • Resolved Question: FREE Checking Accounts for ppl w/ no/bad credit?
Does anyone know of *REPUTABLE* companies offering free checking accounts to ppl who have been turned down because of no credit or out standing collection charges?
  • Resolved Question: How would you handle this?
I received convenience check from my bank at 0% interest for six months and did not take into consideration that the check had an expiration date of 12/1/08 for this set of checks. My limit has been going up in increments of $1000 a month (limit is $5400 at time on 12/2/08 it went up to $6000) so I did not see a problem in writing a check for $2000. The person I made the check to went to my bank and opened a checking account and the account rep. and teller did not catch the error. Of course, the check bounced even though there are fund available because the date was past due. When I went to my bank to correct the error and ask what my options are I was advised by a license account rep to open a new bank card and I would be able to us the 0% financing immediately, she lied. The only thing I could do with the new card is to use the limit of a cash advance at 23.00% and only get $1800. Now, the bank rep is saying that she never said I could get the $2000 @ 0% nor can I receive it immediately and she now does not know what the new card offers are or will be. I spoke to her supervisor when the transaction was two days later and she assured me that the convenience check would arrive today, of course they did not. I feel that there is a bait and switch going on because the supervisor said that the rep or any bank person for their company would know what the new cards offers are because they are done by a different company. Now I have two credit cards with very high limits but at this time the first one is at a high % and the other in unknown. Your thoughts please, good bad or indifferent. I am frustrated and just want to know how someone else would handle this. Thanks in advance. I agree I should have not assumed that the monetary increments was an indicator of continued increases. The bank did know the check was out dated because there is a 5 step process on checks that should have been done to avoid bad checks and had missed this step been done the bank normally calls me on large amount to be approve but did not this time (the manager opinion). Also, there was no money transferred just another credit card with no advantages of 0% financing that was offered on the 1st card.

  • Resolved Question: Is it possible to delete a collection debt from your credit report?
Hi, I worked at this place and it went out of business. My boss had gave me bad checks which made the checks return resulting in making my checking account go negative. He kept telling me he'll try to find ways to get the money to me, but til this day I haven't seen any money from him. It would've gotten paid a lot sooner but I had no extra money because I had to pay for college and rent for my new apartment I just moved into. Anyway, so the account was closed and charged off at 781. I just pulled up my credit report today and it was reported to a collection agency. I was wondering do I pay the bank back or do I pay the collection agency? And is it possible for the bank to remove it from the file after I pay it? It totally sucks because none of this was my fault. How was I suppose to know my paycheck would bounce. :( Anyway please help! Thanks so much! PS. it's only like 3-4 months old if that helps!
  • Voting Question: Why do I still have bad credit?
I had a divorce when I was younger and fell into the credit card hole 7-10 years ago, since, I have never had good credit. I have a cell phone I pay monthly, a checking account I never had a negative balance on, I even "rent-to-own" a few things only to have it show on my credit report as "Paid in full...good standing" but only after I paid it off, it was never revolving. When I apply for credit, I get denied based on past credit history and no good revolving balance. How am I supposed to get any credit at all. I even got turned down for a fingerhut account. I want out of this mess. I make nearly 60k a year and am stuck. I'd love to buy a new car without being asked for a co-signer....HELP

  • Resolved Question: Can I get a bank card for my boyfriend from my account?
does he need to get a credit check if I am still the one responsible for the account? he has bad credit and can't open an account, but he has wages to pay in and can only pay them into a bank account. If he pays them into my account, he needs to have access, so we are wondering if this will work? it's not the account that I use so he wouldn't have access to any of my money and I also have internet banking so I could see everything he was doing. I take on board all of your comments. I haven't made up my mind yet, I am just trying to figure out options and wondered if it were possible. I have another account for my money.
  • Resolved Question: What qualifications do you have to meet to open a checkings account?
I have always had an account at Bank of America, but recently pulled my money to make a large purchase. I went negative after I pulled out and my other wrote a check not knowing. I live in a small town where there is no Bank of America around. I need to open a checking account at a local bank, but it says they do credit checks. They never did a credit check at Bank of America. I have the WORST credit, do you think I can open an account anyway? I'm scared to even try, being a small town, I know alot of the people at the bank.

  • Voting Question: Please help me with my DEBT questions...ITS LONG BUT PLEASE DON'T IGNORE?
ok so I am 19 years old. the day i turned 18 I messed up... I went and got a credit card, phone and a car.. all of the above is part of my debt, sadly. My car got repo'd I now owe about 8800 on it. my cell phone bill is being covered just owe 2something. and my credit card and over draft fees I havent checked up on but I dont know how bad it is becuase I was just able to open a bank account with bank of america and I thought you couldnt do that when you owed a bank money,. anyways my BIG problem is with the car. the lady said I have until the 26th of this month to pay 5something then continue it each month but if I dont pay then Honda is going to take legal action.. I asked if she could go lower and she said least she can do is 3something, everyone i talk to says that if i put in an offer they should take it because all they want is SOMETHING. I want to tell her this month I can pay 3something and then after that do 2something and when I can I will pay more. But how does this all work? she was talking to me like she knew I didnt know much so she was trying to make it seem like i have no options. I work as a customer care rep. • Resolved Question: I don't trust my husband, am questioning my marriage.. I really need advise!?
My husband & I have been married about 2 years now & I'm questioning why we're still together. I had trust issues w/him from day 1, b/c he cheated on me while we were engaged. It was not a physical relationship (I'm pretty confident in this assertion), but he had emotional ties to someone while I was completely unaware. I found out by peeking through his Blackberry while he was sleeping one night. We lived in separate cities, & yet I (at that point) decided to give it another chance. I loved the guy. I took my time gaining back his trust, & honestly (naive-ly) I did not ever question him dealing w/other girls. I don't know why, but I did re-gain that trust back fairly quickly. We got married. Shortly after our marriage, he starts hiding financial information from me. He closes OUR bank account, transfers all of our wedding money into a new account w/just his name. I get letters from our landlord saying our rent has not been paid, yet when I say I want to discuss this w/them, he says, "I'll do it" & gets furious. Long story short, he hides financial info. from me. He hides what he earns, does not have me on the bank account, & has credit cards I didn't know existed. Last week, I found out all of our wedding money is spent & he borrowed from his parents--something I would've opposed. He did not even give me the respect to talk about it & make me aware of our finances. I do not work b/c I am a full-time student, but one thing is for sure--I live like a student. I don't waste b/c I'm not earning. I know how to get by. But if I'm not told of what's coming in, how do I function? I've asked numerous times, & even contacted the bank myself. He changes the passwords, or literally lies to me about it. We are now in counciling b/c I just do not know how to communicate w/this guy. I have tried every approach--speaking softly, yelling, questioning..everything. My father spoke with him about how he should not hide finances from me, he said he would and yet has to. This was over 6 months ago. Well, aside from ALL of that, I came to find a slew of porn on our computer. He's been frequently checking various porn sites throughout the duration of our marriage. This hurts. We spoke about it once, & he was saying he never does that. I expected it while we were apart, & I never said anything to him. We were far away, I'd rather he sit in front of a computer and masturbate than go out physically try. And besides, I wasn't there. Now I am here every day. There have been times where he cannot "rise" to the occasion, yet I see he looked at porn frequently. He lied about it at first, until I proved it. Then, when cornered, admitted that he looked a few times when I was away or had my period. I checked through our server history (I'm ridiculously slick w/computers), I noticed he looked frequently. He also had numerous videos downloaded onto our comp. He went out of his way to try to delete it, I just think it's wrong. I think it's wrong that we spoke about it and he couldn't be honest? Or the fact that he went through hurdles to hide this from me. Or the fact that he looks so frequently? And at specific people? It just hurts really bad. I look at him like he is so sleazy, & I just can't have him look at me. He says he needs a "release" when we are going through other things, but never considered that I may have needs myself? I just feel like he has no value for our marriage. First the finances, now finding some of the sleaziest garbage on our computer? I really just want to get away from him. I don't even want to be his friend, how can I sustain a marriage with this guy? I feel as if he has no respect for me & no regard for our marriage. I'm just really let down, & generally miserable for the most part. I try to focus on my own life & get things done for myself & not try to think about this. But it's like there's an elephant in the room. We don't communicate, I've exhausted myself trying. We are in marriage counciling, but as soon as we leave, maybe a day or two later, I just start to look at him with a sort of disgust again. I know it sounds harsh, but I question this guy's character quite often. I feel like I jumped in this, & I blame nobody for that but myself. I don't want to "quit" w/out a fair fight, but I'm on my own here. He's proven to have very little, if any, respect for me. He's proven that he'd rather do as he pleases instead of discussing things with me. He's proven that he is not ready to be, or not passionate about being, married. And I don't feel as if it's fair to me. Everyone keeps telling me it's going to be harder on me (I come from a very cultured old-school family who completely disagrees w/divorce). I don't need to hear that when I'm feeling like this. I just honestly do not know what to do. I can't continue to feel this way. Can someone please help me figure out what I can do, myself, to make this situation better? I am willing to make positive changes, I just feel as if I am alone. And after seeing
  • Voting Question: Why can't we have taxes work like a bank?
Why wouldn't it work in America to have paying taxes work like a bank? They take the taxes out of your check, but it's held in an account for you and the government use it as a credit for use. This way you can have access to your money for medical needs and emergencies. Plus, the more money you put into taxes the higher your interest rates. It can be a incentive for paying taxes and when you retire you get your money, the more put up the more you have for retirement. Is this a bad idea? Is it too late?
  • Resolved Question: Is paying off your credit card in full every month good?
I am going to put all my bills/spending on my credit card and not touch my checking account untill it's time to pay the card. If I pay in full every month will that be good or bad for my credit? Will I get charged any interest? I always heard that having around 25% balance of your limit is a good thing....
  • Resolved Question: Bounced Debits at bank?
My step has a BOA account. We purposely didn't give her checks because we knew she was irresponsible. So in Feb 07 I opened a BOA account and put 4k into it and then let it sit til she graduated HS in May07. Then in May07 turned it over to her. The debit and I monitor it. Well she blew that money in no time flat. Then she had to go to work and she had a nothing job which she got fired from. Then 2nd job got fired from. Finally Feb08 she got a p/t job which thankfully she has still. All this time I have monitored her account and until May08 was covering bounce fees etc. Well I told her that you are 20 and I am stopping this as of May08. Which I did. I still monitor it cuz she crashed her car and I said no more free handouts, you pay us back. Well it is now Dec08 and since May08 she has bounced 56 times. She bounces between every single check. She is set up for alerts but she pays no mind to them. She purposely bounces. The alerts will go to her email and she knows she is negative yet she eats out anyway with the boyfriend. I told her you realize you have given the bank $1960 in bounce fees since May08. You are almost to your $2600 you could have had to fix your Fiero. Her other car she wrecked. My concern now is since the account was turned over to her May07 she has continously bounced. I didn't cound anything from 07, just started May08. If she keeps this up I am not sure if the bank will just let her keep it up cuz they get 35 bucks or what. I know if it were checks and she was writing bad checks she would be in jail I am sure. I would think it would be the same with debits but all the bank does is charge her 35 per bounce. I have had no information from them as far as do it anymore and we will close account or contact DA. Does anyone know the consequence? I am trying to give her a consequence worse than bad credit. Like if you do it 1 more time BOA will turn your case files over to the DA and you can go to jail. There has to be some way to turn a light on in her irresponsible head. Unfortuneately she lives 1000 miles away with her mother. We didn't raise her, her lazy irresponsible mother who spends money the same way, but a bit less irresponsible did. Thanks!!! I don't cover her. Haven't since May08. But what they do since she has her paycheck direct deposit is she will bounce and like now is negative 240.50 and she gets paid Friday and whatever she is negative of couse is taken. She doesn't pay the fees outright. They post it to her account and it shows in the red. I guess cuz she has direct deposit this is why they do it that way. They don't turn off her card. For instance she was negative on the 5th of Dec already yet yesterday she went to Waffle house and spent 24 bucks on her and her boyfriends meal. I was hoping that once you went into negative with a debit card they would see you are negative and not allow any further charges, but they don't do this. They just sit back and let you continue to be negative while they get the bounce fees. She has been negative up to 380.00 bucks and they still left her card on. I have called them and asked that once she is negative can they turn off her use of debit til she is positive and they said no. So it is all about them collecting those fees. And since she is with BOA and everything with them is online and she only has the debit card she just debits and they just charge. I told her the talk of them raising it to 50 bucks per bounce 1/1/09 but she is clueless. Her debt hasn't been paid by us since May08 and yes I know it is stupid but she is my step and I have no say. Hubby makes all the money. I had my first job at age 11 paper route and on my own working for an airline at age 18. I am now 43 and have always done for myself and survived without any help from anyone else. That is why my credit score is 810 and I do have a nice savings that hubby doesn't know about. I work f/t and am in Doctorate school. My step graduated with a 2.1gpa. She is a big time loser and my hubby and I fight all the time over her irresponsibility but cuz he makes more money than I do and I hate arguing cuz it gives me a mirgraine I just give up. I warned him when she was 7 and a slob and disrespectful that if he didn't nip it in the bud he was going to have issues. His reply was she has two parents stay out of it. So I did and now she is 20 and I finally got to say I TOLD YOU SO. Which he didn't like one bit. And it is all in her name. Infact I won the arguement about car insurance. He got her a Fiero 2yrs before she turned 18. Paid 2500 for it and spent 7500 fixing it. I said she is not getting til 18 and can pay her own insurance. I said you give it to her sooner and I will divorce you. So when she was 18 she got it and had to pay for her own insurance. She has wrecked 3 times so far. He bought her a caddy from one of his accounts. She wrecked the rear of that and he said well I guess I will have to sell my motorcycle to buy her another car. I said you sell your motorcycle and I am gone. I have my own bike and we have them to ride together. That was the point. By him selling his he is telling me that he doesn't want to ride with me and enjoy time together. His loser irresponsible adult daughter is far more important. I am not asking him or never have to alienate her. I have steps and all was great. I just wanted him to quit being her carpet. I just want this to stop. She is an adult. She has no ambition but to work her measly 5 hours a day and remain under her mothers roof. Her mother doesn't bail her out of anything cuz she is smart and knows that either daddy will do it or grandma will do it. But in May08 I got so sick of this crap and said look I don't work to support your adult daughter. I work to support us and if you give her 1 more cent or bail her out 1 more time I will divorce you. I don't need you.

  • Resolved Question: did you read part 1? this is part 2, do i have abuse case?
    12. She was still sending me terrible text, and I was crying. couldnt believe this from a woman who cheated, and I forgave. I told her I wanted to move home, and I finally found and had a key to the house I bought in Florida. She went to the police and filed a restraining order, using the 2 other police incidences in #1 and #6 as proof of violence. When I was served, I couldnt believe it, and called her to ask why since I had proof I didnt get violent and learned of adultry 2 days before i left, and that i forgave her with a kiss. 13. I told her I still had hope in a good life, because I had a great job, and had been excelent employee for 8years. So she calls my company and tells them I abandoned her, and I was at home drinking and doing drugs. All that was a lie, but since she is so sweet sounding and beautiful, they believed her, which lead to them laying me off. 14. Then she takes text to police, and says i violated resraining order by texting, and I am still wanted in that state. She was even texting and calling me, but ofcourse she didnt tell them that. She even wrote me posing as her friend, but later found out it was her. 15. Many months later, I find out she had secret myspace account, and while all this was going on, she was telling the country singer from above that she loved him almost daily, and she was even helping him with promotions and stuff. The things she wrote was very vivid and sexual. I was expendable at this point, unfortunately she tried to ruin my life to make her look good. 16. After spending last 2 years of every holidays alone, i joined a dating site since she obviously moved on. She found out and told them I was married and it said I had a bad mark, and everyone saw and account was cancelled. 17. She stole my credit card #, and overcharged my account, thus making many charges come up short, and I was charged for everyone. 18. Beside hacking into my computer many times, she also hacked into ex husbands and wrote me a letter. He wanted information because he wanted to sue her and retain full costudy form a woman who is obviously insane. She has been committed before we maried, but sweet talked her way out with charm. 19. She also recently filed asault on her ex, who is a Sherriff, and luckily a neighbor witnessed encounters ans she was proved a liar. I believe she did all this to make her look good, by making her look bad. It must be strange that 2 guys would divorce someone who many people say is the hottest woman on earth, so she needed credibility by ruining us. 20.Upon first divorce hearing 2 months ago, she lied to the judge about how much money she had in house, and how little i had. She also left out the part where she has a job, so I told judge she does porn, and my wife hesitantly said yes. She was on the phone, so she didnt know if I had evidence or not, and agreed. She acted like she wanted part of my unemployment check to judge, and said I didnt need the 450week to live in San francisco area. she told judge i was doing side work as an electrician, which in the 22years i never have. She has, and to this day, checks my phone records, and calls any girls im talking to. She tells them im still married, and that I beat her. She sends them pix of scars saying surgery was from me, and to be scared. All I want is a family and a wife. I dont care what she looks like, I just want a good woman. Strangely, my wife does not want me to be a father and have kids, which is my biggest goal in life, so she calls any potential women, even though she never tells me she wants our marriage. I still try to reconcile. My vows said thru sickness and in health. She is so insane tho, and still mean as ever. She doesnt want me, and sends me text accusing me of being some sort of cheater because ive dated a few times in the last few months. She had an affair with 3 men atleast, and one for 1 1/2 years(country singer). She is now doing 1 on 1 porn, and watching them too. she doesnt think thats cheating or dating because she needs the money. she claims she only makes a dollar a minute. when she tells me she made 200 in a week, I thought, wow, thats 200 minutes of doing anything they ask or want of you. I was giving her 800 a week for a 5 minute phone call a day. The only fetish I had, was that my wife be kind to me. Instead she said the most repulsive horrible things, and i kept everyone of them on my phone and email. Do I have a case? Thanks for friendship fst. lela, I have thought about making this into a book or movie, but dont know where to start. 2 titles i was contemplating were, "why you dont want to marry a supermodel", or "the non fictional wife". what do you think?

  • Voting Question: Are customer service reps on web sites permitted to be rude?
I have had a bad experience with a web site and have been threatened with legal action because I wanted my money returned and my checking account credited. How can I get the word out to others not to use this site?
  • Resolved Question: bad credit score... help?
I am 21 years old and I have had my checking/savings account with the same credit union since I was 16. I have my line of credit loan-which has a $3,000 limit-through them and I have had this for almost 2 years and have never been late on a payment. I had a Maurices credit card for about one year and was never late on a payment and I closed the card as I no longer needed it. I have had a target card for about 2 years and have been 30 days late once due to military obligations and they refuse to fix it on my credit report. I have about 5,000 student loans which are deferred until may 2009. I had a chase credit card that i settled on-the limit was 800 and i settled for like 650 which was stupid but I was uneducated and thought I was getting a good deal at the time lol-I had a Kays jewelers card for about one month but closed it because I only got it in the first place because my friend worked there and he needed to meet a quota-stupid, I know-and I also have a military mwr chase credit card that has a 500 limit that I have never used. I had one collection item-an old cable bill-that was paid in full about 6 months ago. I have rented two apartments and left on good terms and was never late on my rent at either residence. I know this is a lot of stuff but I used to have a credit score of 780 which was very good for my age. I am a little confused as to why my credit score went down so quickly. It is now 562. I would like to finance a car within the next few months as I just finished college. Could it be because I closed so many open accounts at the same time? Could it be because I recently got married? I know my husband has a lot of debt but that shouldnt reflect my score should it? I am a little confused and any info would help. Thanks for reading my novella lol! Stephanie
  • Voting Question: Where do I go from here?
am a 24 year old woman living in georgia. I am learning disabled and suffering from depression. For several years I lived with my mother who was my caretaker. She was both mentally and verbally abusive and molested me as a child. When I was 18 I was sent to work at a menial shirt pressing job, which my mother collected all my funds. And I was only allowed to have what she alloted me to have. I was denied both an ID and a driver's license. I was abused on a daily basis. To the point of contiplating suicide. A couple of months ago I found my boyfriend and moved in with him. I told my mother that I would no longer tolerate the living situation she had put me in and would no longer be controling my money. I also made my emplyers aware of this fact as well. The next week I went in to work, only to discover that my emplyoers had handed it over to her anyway and would NOT repay me the check. I called the bank to see if I could cash my check or not (my mother had been cashing it for four yeras) and I was told that unless I had an ID I could not cash my check. I then found out that my mother had opened an account illegally in my name, takken out credit card, run up an overdaft fee and written bad checks in my name. I went down to the bank to talk to someone in person. Where I was told that the bank would allow me to use my school ID to cash my checks and that I could open up my own account. But the very next time I went in to cash one of my checks I was told that the bank had opened up a fraud investigation and had frozen the account. Along wiith my 100 deposit and any chances of getting my check cashed. Things were equally bad at work. Wheere the emplyers who had handed over my last check against my will refused to cash any of my checks and tried to cheat me out of my vacation pay. "mysteriously' forgetting to pay me on the check they were suppose to. So I had no way to cash any of my checks and make it back and forth from work. (My boyfreind is unemployed.) I ended up having to quit work. Which means I'm out of unemplyment since I wasn't fired. Plus that was the only job I have ever had and I doubt I can use them as a referance now. So that coupled with my learning disability means I will have a hard time getting another job. I am unemplyed. Learning disabled. And depressed. I have a bank account I cannot use. Ex empolyers who tried to rob me blind. A mother who robbed me blind. And a bank robbing me blind. And no way to support myself. I do not know where to go fro here. Any advice woul be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Angel scoggins

  • Voting Question: What should i do about this!?
Ok here is the thing. I got a letter from Bell saying that they were sending me to collections. ( I requested a breakdown after being charged over 250.00 for two months of only text and a few calls) Well i never got the break down and just got the letter. I had to wait to get paid before i could pay it. I checked my online account with bell and got the amount owing just so i could pay it off before it went to collections. Well i paid it through my bank and then called to let bell know that i had paid. So anyways i find out it has been sent to a third party collection agency already! I phone like last year to have my phone number changed but they are idiots and never updated it so bell called my mom (which is my old number). Anyways since i paid that amount owing to Bell how does that affect the collection agency now? I am deffinently not going to pay twice. How bad does this affect your credit rating? which by the way is spotless right now! I haven't received anything in the mail stating that i have been sent to collections? Normally would they send something?
  • Resolved Question: How bad is a phone collection going to effect my credit!?
Ok I am currently 21 years old, I have in the past with out any co-signers managed to get first a limited credit card then a loan for my Tundra which was about 18000.00, an additional secured loan and another small loan. I have never missed any payments (all come out of my account right after I am paid) and my rating is quite good. My soon to be hubby has the mortgage on his account and we have never missed any payments. He has two trucks of his own and his credit rating is in good standing as well. I just wanted to point this out so you don't think i'm some bum that doesn't pay my bills! HOWEVER! when I was 18 a few months after i moved out of home and across province i did get my first cell phone from Bell. Unfortunatly I have had horrible service from them. When we moved into our permanent home I called and asked that they change my address. I also wanted to try the ebill feature they have so that i would get my bill in my email. Have never received one. OK. So I also gave them my BF number as a contact. After all that i checked my account at bell.ca and find out after two months my bill was over $250.00! I didn't have any features. only text and phone. so as you can imagine i was upset and requested a break down of the bill. well instead i never heard back and i went and check the amount owing today and payed the bill through my bank after i received a letter in the mail threatening collections. Well i called them to let them know and i find out i was already sent to collections. They were calling my mother after i gave them my BF"s number! to say the least i am pretty upset. Can i request that bell take this off my credit score since really i wasn't even notified of being sent to collections first? How bad is this going to hurt me? Two of my loans will be paid off in the next few months and i am getting married in july so i wanted to take out another loan for the wedding. Will i be able to???
  • Resolved Question: How can a credit card company send me to collections 20 days after I paid the debt in full?
I set up 3 payments to a credit card company and the last payment came out of my checking account Oct. 1. I then recieved a letter from a collection company saying I owed them on this debt. They said they recieved the account from the original creditor on Oct. 23, 22 days after I paid the account in full. Now I have another mark on my credit from the collection company. I can not get the credit card company to give me a strait answer on why this happened or how they are going to fix it. They keep saying they will let a supervisor review my account and they will call me back, 4 times they have said this. Then today they tell me that another collection company, NCO Financial is handling the account......lol I dont know what to do. Can anyone help me and advise me how to get this fixed. I am so frustrated and I am planning on buying a house this summer and I dont want another bad thing on my credit! Thanks
  • Resolved Question: A close friend borrowed a lot of money and four books and I haven't seen it since? Should I ask for them back?
Okay, major moral dilemma!! Sorry for long post. A very close friend whom I've known since middle school, and who was very responsible and mature all through high school, asked to borrow a few good books to read in Summer '07. She loved to read and was looking for a new author or genre. In August '07 she needed some money and (I know, I shouldn't have, this was dumb) I lent her $150, with the promise of getting it back that next week. Two days later, her brother totaled her car. There was nothing she could do about that, so I told her that if it took her a little longer to pay me back, fine. In February '08 (almost six months later) I got a check from her for the $150 but was told to wait until next week to cash it. Every week I went to the bank and asked them if there was funds in the account and if the check would bounce. Every week, they told me there was not. Since then she's totaled two more cars, been arrested, been hospitalized for attempted suicide, and accumulated thousands of dollars of credit card and student loan debt. Basically, a lot of bad stuff has happened to her, some of it bad luck, some of it her being irresponsible, but most of her being irresponsible was because she was misdiagnosed with a psychological disorder and given medication that made her unable to really make good judgments. What I don't understand is why she hasn't given me the books back, even though she claims not to have lost them. I understand financial hard times, but she claims to have a steady job. I (and other mutual friends of ours) remind her every now and then about the books and money. My question is, of course I want the books back, but should I demand the money back too? On the one hand, I was brought up that you should always pay off your debt in full ASAP, and I think she should be held accountable for the money. On the other hand, she's had a really hard time this year. But it is $150, which is a lot of money.... I'm NOT dropping my friendship with her over this. Yeah, she is unstable, but unstable, suicidal times are when you need friends the most. Every friend she loses pushes her closer to the edge. However, I want her to get her life back on track and part of that is being responsible, including financially responsible.
  • Voting Question: I know this makes me sound stupid...?
...but when I was 18, I got a credit card with a local store. My credit limit was $1,000 and I maxed it out in 3 days. I was doing really good making my payments on time every month, and then I got pregnant. Now, my son is 2 years old, and I havent made a payment in a couple years. They hired a collection agency, and now the collection agency I guess has hired a law firm to collect the debt. Anyway, I didnt have a checking account, so My fiance said I could use his check. Long story short, the past 3 months, I have told them to go ahead and take the money out (they offered me a settlement), but then on the day it's supposed to come out, it never does. I few days go by, and I have to pay my other bills, so I have to use the money, and then the lawyers check bounces. And now, the law firm is calling my work, and left a message on my answering machine at work for me. It is not a personal phone line, and it is an answering machine that the whole office can listen to. I just somehow think that is illegal. So, anyway, that made me very upset, and then when they called my work again today, the guy was very rude, and persistant on getting another check (which i told him i dont have), so I kind of told him to take the check and "shove it up your as$). Which i know i shouldn't have done. He called right back, and I got my boss to answer and tell him not to call again at work. I know I sound really bad, stupid, and immature, but i'm really not. I just am a single mother, at 22 years old, living pay check to pay check, and it is either pay my BGE bill, and rent, or pay my bad debt. What can they do to me? I know my wages could potentially be garnished, but I can't get arrested for this, can I?
  • Resolved Question: Should I use my credit card like a bank account?
Long story short. I had a bankruptcy many years ago. I have one credit card and a car loan. I make good money. My FICO is 690. I can't get a checking account. I could not even get a savings account until last year. Although, the savings account fees me if I use it more than once in a cycle. $2 here $4 there. Last month it was over $45 is fees. Worthless really since I can't write checks off it. I can use it for paying bills online but it costs $2 every time. I have a credit card with 18.8% interest and no annual fee. There is a 2,000 credit limit on it. I have used it twice in the amount of $300 and paid it off. I was wonder if I could use this card like a checking account? For example. Pay all my bills online with the card. Gas the car, buy groceries, and whatever else. Then when I get paid, put my check into money order form and send it to the credit card company or better yet western union it. It would really make my life easier and I would be beating the interest rate by paying the balance off in the cycle. Also, it would look fantastic on my credit. Bad idea or good?
  • Voting Question: Family- Money repayment?
Almost 2 years ago, my brother borrowed some money from me for a divorce he was going through. I didn't have the cash, so I wrote him a check out of a credit card account. I setup the account so he can pay the payments directly to the credit card company. Which he has paid faithfully (minimum payments of course) Over the past 2 years, he has steadily added little bits of money here and there to the account. It's currently nearly $8,000! Now the hard part! Due to some bad things happening in my life I am almost ready to file for bankruptcy. (ch7 wipe out the debts) When he found out, he is ecstatic. He doesn't have to pay back the debt as far as he is concerned. On one level I agree, I am getting rid of the debt, I guess he should be absolved as well. On the other hand, I have lots of family members that borrowed CASH which eventually led me to start using Credit cards because I no longer had cash to pay my bills. Should I just ignore those debts as well? My wife is adamant, that he owes us the money, not the CC company. What do you guys think? And please explain fully your answer or reasoning as "he still owes you" is not a full answer! Thanks in advance! Jay Wow, Shame on me??? Without being rude, I would say you don't know my situation and leave it at that. Anyone with an intelligent response, or at least non-judgemental. Almost 1 million people filed for bankcruptsy in 2007. Should all those people be ashamed of themselves (some i would imagine, but not all).
  • Resolved Question: Old acct from Dish tv since 2002 unpaid. Can't contact correct people to pay bill. I need help please ?

  • Voting Question: Searching For a Personal Loan?
My husband and I are searching for a small personal loan. I have bad credit and he has virtually no credit. To complicate things more, we do not have a checking account. We are only looking for a loan of about $2000. Any suggestions?
  • Resolved Question: How can I come up with five hundred dollars in one day?
So, I lost my license and I need to pay off the fines and fees by tomorrow or else I will have a warrent issued for my arrest. Does anyone know how I can quickly come up with five hundred dollars in one day? I am talking about maybe a bad credit loan that doesn't need to have a checking or savings account, or maybe a payday loan place that doesn't ask for a checking account. If you can help me it will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.
  • Resolved Question: How can I get a checking account?
About a year ago my husband opened a checking account with a large bank. He had me go to the bank a few weeks later and do a signature card so that I could cash my child support checks there. I never really did that though. The check cashing place was closer and they only charged $2 for the child support checks. I never used the account. I was just on it. Some how he over drew or what ever you call it and now it says he owes them over $700! I had nothing to do with it, but I'm afraid to go open an account of my own somewhere, by myself only because I'm afraid they will try to collect it from me and I don't have that. I just don't know what to do. I don't know why the thing was overdrawn and he says he doesn't either. But I don't know how to go about getting my own account somewhere even if it is just a savings account which for me would be ok anyway because I don't really write checks for anything. I always use money orders. I don't trust banks really but you can't do anything without a bank account. My son asked me if I wanted to go into a savings account with him but now I would be so embarrassed if it showed up that I am a bad risk or something. I am in my 40s and have paid cash for everything my entire life. No credit cards, loans, or even a mortgage ever. Now what. I just want a place to put my money when I get it to save. Thank you
  • Resolved Question: Ever delt with NCO or a debt collector?
a few weeks ago i received a phone call from a collecting agency NCO and the guys name was Andrew Glay. this guy was nasty it was for a credit card that me and my X had that was 8 years ago. He was demanding 4500! This guy told me if i do not pay now he will file a lawsuit and possible file fraud charges that would warrant jail time. After a while somehow he knew i had a BoA credit card with a limit of 12k and its attached to me checking account. He then when of telling me he has lots of lawyers in my hometown of Grand Rapids MI that will help him sue and file charges with the police. well i gave in and gave him the line of credit to pay off, he also noted a 250 dollars service fee. after looking at me statement it showed NCO payment of 4500 and another payment of 950. I called up and inquired on the 950 payment and said it was 250, Andrew Glay was on vacation this week i talked to a Karma she said this has been paid you should of paid you bill then the service fee would not be so high. I goggled this NCO an found nothing but bad things about this .
  • Resolved Question: Will this hold up in court?
In 2001, me and a (girl) friend went to Wells Fargo to open an joint account. In which she went and wrote over $2,500 in bad checks. Now its been a rough few years and all and it is still on my credit, not to mention its hard for me to get an apartment now. Its been over 7 years now and its still there. Now note that ALL the checks have her signature only, NOT MINE. Should I take her to court for this or should just let it go? Can this hold up in court? I'm doing this now because she said she paid it off (through her Uncle), but it is still on my credit from her checks she wrote.
