Last night, my husband and I had a cocktail party for his office. (He got promoted). So ofcourse, his secratary slut comes over.. We had a dance floor at our party. Resolved Question: I Was Treated Like A Pariah At My Friend's Wedding, Am I Overreacting?
One of my best friend's (or so I thought) just got married. We've been friends for almost four years now. We've been through a lot together; new jobs, new colleges, breakups, etc. When she told me that she and her boyfriend were going to get married, I waited for her to ask me to be a bridesmaid but she never asked. The wedding was today, and when I went over to congratulate her and her new husband (whom I have also known for four years), they both acted like they didnt know me and quickly brushed me off. I figured that they were busy, even though they were only waiting for the photographer to get ready and went to talk to one of the bridesmaids. She also acted like she had never met me before even though we met at the bachelorette party last week and talked, laughed and drank together until early morning. So I drove over to the hotel with my mom and we go inside to the ballroom and find that we were seated at a table kind of in the corner next to the kids table. It turned out, that the 8 other people who were supposed to eat with us never showed up. So there we are, sitting alone in the corner with kids screaming in our ears and being completely ignored by the bridal party and bride's family (even though I have also known them for four years and been to their family functions. Even one of the aunts who I always got along with and always talked to introduced herself like we've never met). When the bride and groom walked around the room they never came over to our table to say hi like they did with everyone else. It wasnt until the waiters started clearing up the empty plates and glasses did the bride's mom come over and explain to us that the people didnt show up because of a family emergency, which is completly understandable. She then proceeded to take all the extra chocolate boxes for herself and promptly left. I was so upset by the entire day, that I went to the bathroom several times to cry about it. This is my best friend treating me like this, I know its 'her day' but she treated the rest of her guests with dignity and respect and she acknowledged them thusly. What I dont understand is why she would treat me like this. Its obvious that I misjudged the friendship; she probably thought of me as an acquintance rather than her best friend. I feel so disalusioned and sad. My mom and I even left early, before my friend tossed her bouqet and cut the cake. My mom who didnt want to go in the first place, was in shock about how I was treated. What if I went by myself? I would have sat at that empty table alone and ignored and I know I would have left even earlier because of it. This happened today and I still feel like crying about it because I feel like I lost a friend. I would never treat a stranger like that at my wedding, let alone a friend. I know I didnt do anything, or cause any offense. I cant even talk to her about it now or ever because it wouldnt be appropriate. I'm not even sure I want to talk to her again after this. Am I overreacting? I didnt get drunk enough to not remember anything at the bachelorette party. I actually only wanted to stay for the get together at her house but not go to the club because I had broken my foot and wanted to go home early which meant that I didnt drink until she convinced me to go. I then had two drinks that got me thoroughly buzzed but not so drunk that I blacked out or anything. Also, the drinks at the wedding werent free so I couldnt get drunk and make a scene even if I wanted to. wisma, I'm not Indian, I'm white. The bride and groom are white also and the wedding was very small. There were maybe 30 people at the ceremony and close to 50 at the reception. And what word are you talking about where I look down on others? I never said I looked down on someone. I'm only wondering why I was ignored and treated so disrespectively when all of the other guests at the wedding were not. I have only two best friends (well, one now) and few close friends and fewer aquaintences. I choose my friends very carefully and I definitly do not consider everyone a friend, thats just stupid. Also, I was invited to the wedding, to the bachelorette party and even the bridal shower. Otherwise I wouldnt have just shown up and surprised her. At the bach. party she practically begged me to go to the dance club with her and the rest of the party despite my broken foot. I have a natural affinity for composing classical music for the piano, and in fact can compose anywhere from 25 to 50 compositions in a single afternoon with out breaking a sweat. After noting the possibility that this ability might be pretty rare, I started thinking about ways to convert this gift into a business: I figured there must be a niche market out there where this unique gift would put me at a significant advantage to succeed if it is true that there are few people out there who can compose 50 classical compositions for the piano in a single afternoon, and do so continuously. I do not believe that marriage should be a legal commitment, but rather a personal and emotional one. My fiance and I are having a mariage ceremony preformed by a UU minister in a beautiful garden. We will be using a lot of different traditions at our wedding. For example: my mother will walk me down the aisle before my bridesmaids while my husband waits for me and then my bridesmaids and groomsmen will walk down the aisle and each couple will present me with flowers, creating my bouqet. So the love of my life suprised me with some amazing news, a bouqet of fresh roses in a vase with a cute bear and letter, and he got my best friend involved in the surprise too so it took a lot of planning to make sure i wouldnt find out too soon, and he surprised me by meeting me exactly when i got off work..in the process he was trying to catch the train and banged his ankle against the escalator at the metro station and now its sprained and i feel terrible bc he was running to surprise me before i got off work..he even tried to hide it until i noticed his limping and i saw the cut and i forced him to tell me waht happened...he did so much and i want to pay him back. Because im at work i got a get well soon card and his favorite candy and i'll have that mailed to him. But i want to surprise him with other stuff too...what would u guys do? *preferrably from a girl's perspective* we mail each other things as a tiny surprise when we cant meet up that day. its like a small way of saying im thinking of u no matter what:)

Last night, my husband and I had a cocktail party. He invited his ex gf to the party. We had a dance floor at our party. So they went to dance, and his ex starts saying: wow tiger you are such a good dancer! Growl! And starts to stroke the back of his neck! URRGH! Can you believe her? I pulled them away from the dance floor and started yelling at her, she then had to leave. After the party my husband started hugging me and kissing me and I was like leave me alone! And then he said I love you. Me: first you flirt with her AND dance with her and now you love me? And I loose control and start throwing spoons at him! He then grabs my arms and pushes me (hard)onto the sofa and yells KNOCK IT OFF!!!! That nite I made him sleep on the sofa.This morning he left to work without saying anything and later that day I get a tropical flower bouqet, a plane ticket, and a note saying meet me in Hawaii. I seen a picture of a berry bouqet, which I really like, but thats all thats in the bouquet. I didnt really want the bridesmaids bouquets to be the same because then mine wouldnt be unique. what would my bridesmaid hold? and Im tryin to find out what types of berries also? I can only find hypericum berries and it doesnt seem to be the berry that is pictured. Im asking what would go good with the berry bouquet? my daughter is turning 7 on thursday so on Saturday, I'm having a fairy princess party for her. there are 9 girls (including the birthday girl) coming. here is the party -decorations: Floral garland around the front door and glitter along the walkway up to the front door. pink,purple,gold and silver balloons and pink/purple streamers. cake table has a pink tablecloth w/butterfly sequins and glitter scattered all over it. eating table has purple tablecloth w/butterfly and regular sequins along w/glitter. a large vase of fake pink roses and butterly balloon bouqet will be in the middle. Games: -fairy treasure hunt (10 clues were typed up and pasted on butterfly shaped cardstock and hidden throughout the house). at clue 5-girls "earn" their powers (bubbles w/glitter mixed in) and wings. end of game results in them finding a fairy doll to take home. -musical crowns. instead of musical chairs-girls will dance to fairy music. when stopped-they rush to put on homemade crwn crowns are made from garland,pearl strands,and ribbon. game ends when one girl is left. Girls get to keep the crowns as prizes (finishes off their fairy costumes) food: hamburgers,hot dogs,mac n' cheese, and sparkling cider to drink. I bought a bouqet of dasies from a flower shop a few weeks ago and they finally died - so I took them outside to my garden and plucked all the heads off and sowed them into the ground because of the seeds in the middle....will they produce daisies again and be a perennial next year?

I am having an English Garden wedding, but am not being strict with the old-world theme, and am including fun/unexpected touches along with traditional/heritage-based touches. My colors are kiwi, pale pink, white, and silver. The wedding flower is kiwi-center pale pink gerberas, the bridesmaids will have crystal accents in their floral bouqet, while I will have a crystal bouqet. Ok - I love these colors for my wedding color scheme. I really like the color of her bouquet,the darker red flowers and the blueish flowers? What would you guys call these colors specifically, just so I can identify them further than just 'pink (peach?), blue, and red'. Is 3 colors too many?How would I incorporate all three? I am not using flowers for centerpieces (using candles, rose petals, mirrors), my cake table is having the same theme except in a larger scale, and the head table has tapered candles with petals everywhere.
