I am currently 17 years old (I will be 18 when the baby arrives on April 26, 2009). I am insured under First Priority CHIP. When I looked at their website I found that maternity costs were covered up until I am 19 years old. I have found a OBGYN and hospital that both accept CHIP in my area. I was just wondering if my insurance will cover all of the costs with the exception of co-pays (which I will obviously cover).
By the way, I am not looking for criticism about my baby. The father and I have never been happier and we are going to do everything in our power to make the baby's life amazing. I am simply asking a question and I would like an answer. Thank you!
Open Question: Whole Life vs Term Life ?
Right now I have term life insurance, but I am trying to determine whether I should switch to whole life. I just noticed after 3 years that my premiums at 58 will go up almost $250, that's crazy. Then I realized if when I do turn 58 if I don't want to continue with that policy due to high premiums, I will not get any of my money back. I don't like that. I don't believe I need a high insurance policy, and I understand whole life cost more, but I am wondering if I should take that risk.

Open Question: My ex-girlfriend thinks I'm abusive?
Yet, I'm so incredibly in love with her. She tells me she's really glad that I don't live near her sometimes. I have yelled at her a handful of times (never in person) and I only cuss out of anger. I break stuff when I'm angry I need phone insurance cause I need a new phone every 3-6 months. Back to the point though, what is the best thing I can do? She says the plan (general plan, not just cause she thinks I'm abusive) is to move on for a year, until we get our licenses. I've never harmed her in any way physically. I have made her cry too many times to count though. She says she's in love with me. I just want to make her happy and never ever harm her. She just will do something small, like go with her friends to the beach and there will be guys there and she walks down the boardwalk with him, hand in hand or she might go drink a very little with them and her gal pals. It just worries me, and I'm bad at reacting to stuff like that. She told me it scares her when I'm angry.. god, I just don't know what to do. I ask anybody for guidance. Please show me the way. I can't afford therapy, with money and with my dignity. I never want to fight with her, but it's like my blood runs cold when she does something to make me mad or upset. We are to a point where we fight everyday and can't stop it. I try and try to help myself, but it just doesn't work. I'm not depressed, I'm not suicidal. I just dislike where I am, and I want to be with her. Only if she wants me there too, though. Please, what can I do? What should I do? I can't to lose her... I've told her more times than you would believe that I am so deeply in love with her, and she's my everything, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I'd give anything to be with her, but... I'm starting to feel as though she is too scared to have me around anymore.

Open Question: I want to join the navy reserves but my husband doesn't think I should...?
because we have a small child under the age of 5 and he thinks if i join the navy, i will never be home, and this only good for single people. I resigned my full time job to spent more time with my family, we both agreed on this, but after I did, I found myself thinking about our future, we were so used to having two incomes that it seem like we were getting behind in our bills and i have no health insurance or life insurance or dental. I married at a very young age (18), I'm in my 30's now and have no education except my high school diploma. i just feel that if something would ever happen to my husband, i don't think I'd have anything to fall back on. He is a very good man husband and father he does a lot for us he helps me out a lot at home and with our child, so i;m not afraid to join the navy because i know he will take good care of our child. I just think if i join the navy we could take advantage of good benefits for our entire family. At first he was ok with it, but now that is becoming more real he does not think I should join, i know i'll be gone for at least 6 months at first... with boot camp and school, but after that will it really be only a weekend a month and 2 full weeks out of the year? i'm I being selfish? I'm sure many of you know how things always come in sets of three. Well, I am a single mother of two young children and am currently a full time student. Today things have just crashed on me more so or less. I have been hiding constantly from everything. Especially from dealing with Matthew. I have to call the insurance company back for Scott and Leah after I go to the Monett police station and request for a copy of my written statement to give to the insurance company. I also finally have to get my xbox 360 sent off. I have to do ALL of my laundry, clean my room, etc. I have to make sure I keep things up, especially at home so I can be ready to leave in a month for Washington. From that moment I also somehow knew that something happened and I didn't posess my own heart anymore, as I had when michelle left me. She had a big chunk of it as did allison. But before I knew anything remotely concrete about her as I did with the others(allison and michelle) she already had a humongous place in my heart. I was immediately jealous of anyone who got to spend more time than I did with her, jealous of anyone who recieved more attention from her than I did. I didn't even have any stated claim on her. It was so irrational, so naive, so over jealous, so posessive. But a lot around her at times I'd find myself to be extremely cocky at one moment, and so vulnerable the next. It was my emotions becoming bi-polar influenced by my muse of earth. Yes, the popular question often asked by many. Who made the first move? Who kissed who first? She won that one. She kissed me out of nowhere and it left me dazed and confused. Also I felt lost at times when I thought about it and what it had meant, if anything? Who knew? I surely didn't. It's an up down on me. I never know when she is going to lift me up and make me feel quite special or when I'm going to sink into the quicksand. It doesn't last long when I sink. But boy do I brood on my thoughts for a while. Sometimes I got upset by some of the things she does or says but I tell her or I let it go easily. I don't really like fighting. But through all of it the distance, the me angry occasionally at what she says, through me saying my girlfriend and everyone asking where she's at. I DO love her. Unconditionally. I don't think I couldn't love her. I believe she is so beautiful. She doesn't think so but with her brilliant flaming hair and her ocean deep blue eyes, her wit, her charm(she says its non-existant) her singing, her poetry; especially her poetry with intense passion and some with heart felt, gut wrenching, despair, pain. The way she hugs me, holds my hand, kisses my hand, kisses me, keeps me up and takes care of me when I'm about to fall. The way she says my name, or calls me baby. The way she sings for me , or just when she sings out of no where.
She makes me happy.

I dont see how anyone could be happy with the current state of healthcare. In this country many people have jobs, but arent offered affordable health insurance, or even if they are the coverage is minimal at best. If people were wanting to take on a prevention approach to diseases like cancer they would not be able to afford it. For example my friend has a suspicious mole- a few of them actually- and works very hard. But with her coverage and the cost of doctor's visits, lab testing, and MRIs, she would not be able to afford life saving procedures. Why is this acceptable?

I have a friend who is doing a diy divorce because his attorney wasn't doing his job so he fired him. He filed a petition in November. She never signed the papers so she was served with papers back in February and still refused to sign them. The papers included how much child support he is willing to pay(in which I think is a reasonable amount) and he is willing to help with additional needs. They are also on his insurance. She called him and said now she wants alimony. He refused, if it wasn't for her cheating they would still be together. He finally has a court date for a calender call. He attended the calender call. She didn't show up the judge told him to request a continuance. I don't understand. why? I thought a continuance was for buying more time. If someone could help to help my friend. He's lives in Georgia.

I have a situation that I have been dealing with since March. I have a guy who has, in writing (email), that he is going to buy my boat. He lives about 8 hours away from me and in the same state (Florida), but he has excuse after excuse for not sending me the deposit. He has also emailed me that he will pay for the slip fees while I wait and has supposedly tried to send a check twice via certified mail. Unfortunately, he has not produced a tracking number as I instructed him. No doubt he is jerking my chain but my question is, is he legally bound to go through with the transaction based on our email correspondence? Obviously, I am tired of his crap. If he is not bound to purchase legally, is this grounds for a civil suit? I have spent thousands in insurance, slip fees, and maintenance waiting for this guy to go through with his word.
I forgot to mention- the boat has been listed in multiple places since this has been going on. Several buyers have fallen through and I have dropped the price to a third of the boat's value to unload it. Still no luck at all, but I am still actively selling it.

I'm 30 and have struggled my whole life. I was on medication but didn't stick with it. There is a free mental health facility but i can't drive there-I used to go there, but then i got low on gas and i have no one to take me (now i have no license). I'm not working and hardly ever leave the house. I have no quality of life. the only thing i look foward to is practicing music, but what good is it if i can't get out there and jam, and also make money to buy worthy equipment in the first place.
I don't have heath insurance and owe the hospital a few hundred dollar from a couple years ago.
Let me add that just walking to the store or someone knocking on the door of my mom's house freaks me out. I'm an alcoholic and used to drink like crazy...i don't now, but then i again i never leave the house. I don't want to have to drink to function.

I'm a 22 year old white male who is up to my ears in debt. Actually, I put my unknowing parents further into debt than anybody should ever be. It started a few years ago when my diabetic step-father went into a diabetic coma, had several TIA's (strokes) and became fully disabled. Shortly after this happened, they lost the house they lost the house he had lived in for 20 years. Luckily, my mother was granted early retirement from the State of Illinois, and upon retirement, decided to move to Florida. The move was due to a number of reasons including the fact that my mother's mother, and older sister live there, and also my step-sister. The move to Florida was a major mistake, and the 3 of us are paying for it to this day. In fact, there was only one good thing to come out of the 3 years we spent there, but I'll get to that in a minute. My mother was given $91,000 for her retirement, and like a fool, put it down (well, half of it anyway) on a stupid manufactured home, and took out a mortgage on it. I (18 at the time) decided to go with them to Florida, because I was involved in certain activities that would lead to me getting killed, or imprisoned. I was scared for my life, so I fled to Florida to live with them. It turns out, the silver lining of the whole experience was that upon arriving in Florida, my diabetic step-father was placed on the top of a very long list for kidney transplant recipients. This was a gift and a curse. Yes, it saved his life, thank God, but it also placed up in a world of debt. The doctor's fee alone was over $144,000 , not to mention the other fees associated with such an operation. After filing bankruptcy, I thought that everything was going to get better, but I (as usual) messed things up for everyone else. At the time, I was making pretty good money, and thought I was ready to take on the responsibility of a car payment. I went with my mother to a used car lot, and convinced her to put the car in her name. They gave us a loan for $9,000 and set me up with $276 monthly payments. That was pocket change to me at the time, so I figured I'd have no problems keeping up with my payments. I was wrong. My step-dads health got worse, and he started to make trips to the hospital a few times a month, which led to even greater bills. With my mother retired, and step-dad fully disabled, I did the only thing I could, and relinquished everything I had to them. After doing so, I couldn't afford to have insurance on my car, so the loan company took it upon themselves to provide me with their own insurance, at the cost of $2000 every 6 months. My monthly car payments skyrocketed up to over $400 dollars a month, which they are still at now. Shortly after losing my very well paying job, we were no longer able to afford the mortgage payments, and ended up losing the house in foreclosure. When we defaulted, all that was needed to own the house free and clear was $10,000. We tapped every resource available to us, and still ended up losing all the money invested, since everyone we knew was either unwilling, or unable to help. After losing our house, we moved here to Austin Tx. where my aunt gave (loaned) us $2,000 to pay for moving expenses, and pay first months rent on the place we're at now. I'm currently working at yet another dead end job, and we are once again on the verge of being homeless. On top of this, I'm getting threatening letters and phone calls every day from the company that gave us my car loan, stating that if I don't give them $11,000 (the amount remaining on the loan, due to the added insurance) in x number of days my car will be repossessed, and I will not see it again until the full balance is payed off. If you are still reading this, than I can only assume you are concerned for our family's well being, and I am hoping that concern might lead to some act of kindness. I'm only 22 and am not very knowledgeable in debt management, but all information and advice is welcome and appreciated. If you might have $11,000 or anything for that matter laying around, and are able to help out, you are a godsend. okay so my boss is always at work. its a family business consisting of my boyfriend his brother and his other brother is the boss then there is a manager. all summer it was just me my bf and his two brothers working at the pizza place. his brother Pat (the boss) is really lazy constantly complains hes bored and need more orders more money and that hes tired and hungry! and when we get an order and im out back smoking or eating for a few minutes he will come get me make me stop what im doing to go do something he could of done when he wasnt doing ANYTHING! or ill be making a pizza or a few and things are coming out of the oven he'll just be walking around bored and ill just keep looking at the oven to see if he take things out but never does! he is always taking advantage of me my bf and his other brother. wasnt paying us for the longest time!!!!!!!!! but was paying my bfs car insurance and phone bill was suposed to be paying our rent then 3 months later we find out we owe 3 months of rent that we ended up paying our on our own! my bf is late 4 months on his bike payments.... rent is finally caught up! if this pizza place doesnt do good his dad could lose his house and everything he has! keith (bf) got a job offer from his old boss to go back there, i really want to just to get outta stress and his insanity annoying brother. my bf says things WILL get better. he left me with a decision if i wanna stay here or go to work at his old job. right now im trusting my bf that things will get better. but what do you think of this situation? please help me! im STUCK!

I don't even know where to begin...my life has been living hell since April 2007.
My parents started to fight right around then. I didn't think it was serious until one night in June. Usually it was something little, like money or something (they are HORRIBLE at handling money), but now it was something more serious.
I just remember my mom lying on the couch because she was feeling sick...my dad stormed in...at first I was going to say in a joking way, "wow, you look mad", because that's what we do is joke around, lol.
So I decided not to because he looked especially angry. He just said to my mom, "get up". And she just said "what?" And my dad kicked the couch probably 2 or 3 feet across the floor and yelled it again. So they started arguing about some questionable pictures he found in her car. Apparently my mom cheated on him, but they were getting a separation and she was extremely depressed...I could understand that. You would have had to been in that household to understand just how depressed she was.
It was probably one of the worst fights they've ever been in. We had to go to a hotel overnight...I didn't talk to my dad for days. He did apologize, and I believed he was sorry. He's a very good person and a good father...I know these things can happen with a man and a woman. I don't hold it against him anymore.
Anyway, the fights continued afterwards. I became more and more depressed and anxious. I thought that was the worst it could get, but I got a call while I was on vacation with my cousin about my parents fighting in the car...my little brother was so upset that he threw up.
While all this was happening, my best friend was dating my ex, whom I was in still very much in love with. So I still had that to worry about.
Around September, my dad moved to Florida...after a few months, taking my brother with him (we all agreed on it for different reasons).
Me and my mom moved into an apartment by ourselves, and that's when I really started to get dangerously depressed. I started cutting myself, had suicidal thoughts, was pretty much emotionless and looked close to dead in school...and my mom was out of control. We both needed some kind of therapy, but couldn't afford it because my mom didn't have enough energy anymore to go to work every day. She had a boyfriend and would constantly tell me too much about their relationship. I would end up giving my MOM relationship advice!!
After a while, she decided she missed my dad and wanted to go live with him again & start over as a family. I said I would THINK about it, but the next day she sold some of our furniture so we could go. I was upset about it and didn't really want to go, but we did anyway. It all happened in about a day and a half, so I didn't get to say bye to my best friends or anyone. On top of THAT, I found out more than half of out belongings left in the old house were thrown out by our landlord because my mom never paid the rent and didn't get all out stuff.
I was miserable in Florida, too. Neither of my parents had jobs, so it was a rarity to eat a whole dinner. I could barely go to school because I was too depressed & had a group of girls constantly harassing me.
Eventually I wanted to take action of my life and move in with my grandma..I saw no other option, because I was close to killing myself.
They all ended up coming back.
Now me, my mom and my brother live with my grandparents...my dad live with his parents. My mom is okay now, as well as my dad, but I think I'm still depressed. I stopped cutting, I stopped having suicidal thoughts, and I'm happier than I've been in over a year...but I still feel like I'm trapped in my life, like I'm helpless. I was supposed to get therapy when I got here, but it never happened because we didn't have insurance OR money. Everyone was too busy getting their lives on track, so they didn't really pay much attention to me or my brother. We're about to start school, but I'm such a wreck I don't think I can handle it. My social anxiety has gotten so much worse over this past year, it's hard to go to a mall without thinking I'm getting judged by 1/2 of the people that glance at me. I asked my mom about getting a tutor to come to our house instead of going to school this year, so I can get the help I need, but she said no. So I'm going to school.
I know I won't be able to continue without a counselor of some sort and my family is some of the hugest procrastinators I've ever seen in my whole life (hence the whole summer going by without a mention of it). What can I do in the meantime to help myself?
Sorry I wrote so much, I know that is a MASSIVE amount of reading to do.

Open Question: Car Insurance in the UK - anyone had this problem?
I recently purchased car insurance online, had my payment accepted and thought nothing more of it - got on with my life. However, a little over two weeks later I was pulled over by the police and told I had no insurance. Rather than allowing me to buy insurance there and then, they impound the car for which I'll get charged £105 plus £12 per day until I can get a certificate of insurance. I will be fined £200 and have 6 points added to my license. No money has been taken by the insurer from my bank account nor do I have an email notification of the policy being accepted. I've since phoned the insurers who have no record of my original quote (though they do have a record of an amended different quote under the same reference number as my first quote) and bought my insurance to get my car back. Has anyone else had this problem?
I've had nothing through the post - no insurance certificate and my partner can't recall receiving anything. Sometimes she'll open my post for me and file stuff away. As I say, I merely applied for the insurance, paid for it and thought everything was fine and got on with my very busy life.

I have been offered 10,500 SR Per Month by a Saudi Company (based in Riyadh). This salary package includes all benefits i.e. housing and travel. I have been offered a family visa and also the travel and visa expenses will be covered by company(reimbursed after my joining). I will also be provided 30 days leave annually with ticket charges provided by my company(for all family, family includes 1 wife and 2 children). Health insurance is also covered, but i don't have the details about it.
My History:
I am currently located in Lahore, Pakistan. I am currently earning a package of 100,000 PKR per month (including all benefits like bonuses, medical, provident fund, etc.). I am married, have 1 baby child and i live with my parents and sisters in Lahore (house owned by my father).
My Lifestyle:
I enjoy a good living in Lahore, like weekly eat-outs (even weekdays eat-outs) with my friends or family, Monthly shopping, etc.
I have 6 dependents, and a big house to maintain (utility bills, maintenance,etc.).
Now according to my calculations, a good living with 1 wife and 1 child will cost me almost 8000 SR Per Month in Riyadh, Saudia. But i have to support my family in Pakistan as well, and also do some savings. I need to live in a good house in Riyadh, like at least a 2 bedroom flat / villa with all accessories of life and comfort.
What are your comments on this offered package? I will appreciate if people living in Riyadh would comment on this one.

Open Question: HPV because of Negligence?
My fiance's ex-girlfriend failed to tell him she found out while she was pregnant (thank God it wasn't his child). They did however sleep together after she found out she had it, yes... while she was pregnant. Anyway, She remained Silent even when he dated other people! I just found out I have a High Risk type of HPV and I am FURIOUS! I'm not sure how bad it is yet because I can't afford to have a colposcopy done because I have no insurance right now. This could affect my chances of having children or getting cancer! I want to just beat the crap out of her! But I don't know if that would do any good. In addition to this, she will not stay out of his life. She has infiltrated his family and our mutual friends! She is the most manipulative compulsive lying psycho path I have ever met! 6 months ago I was engaged with a good job. I was 26, a rep for a pharmaceutical company, and engaged to a beautiful girl. Then in January, we were in a bad wreck that was her fault and 2 people 2 died. She spiraled downhill and we broke up. Then I lost it with my boss and he fired me. I didn't work for a month, and I moved to Colorado to be closer to my family. I figured I would find a job when I moved here. Now I'm here, but I can't find a job and I'm living at home. I am an independent person who is used to success, and this is just really hard right now. I've been offered s few jobs, but they were either for way less than I was making or I just couldn't bring myself to do it (life insurance sales - no offense to any life insurance salesmen!). I've been sitting at home all day and sometimes I think I 'm goin crazy. I've been out a few times, but I can't bring myself to meet anyone other than the couple of people that I go out with. I usually just drink until I'm drunk. I apparently am as happy as can be once I'm wasted, but that's no help.

If he works a job he gets a little over half of his paycheck taken away and he can't make the bills. He's in the process of getting SSD for his mental ills but without any money or health insurance it's taking a long time and even when it does go through there might be a chance that he still gets nothing due to the child support. The moms are uncommunicative and fled the state before he could do anything about it and now his life is a complete wreck. He was under the impression that both girls were on the pill and clean. Clean they were but no forms of B.C. So after all these years and hard times is there anyway that he can make the child support end?

I'm in my early twenties. I graduated with a B.A. I don't have any money. I took out student loans to get the degree. I have a brain disorder that isn't well controlled (no one's fault). It's hard for me to work 40 hours a week, and it's nearly impossible for me to afford my medication (500 dollars a month).
Currently, I'm enrolled at community college, so that I can remain on my mother's insurance. But that just takes out more time of my day that I could be spending working (but again, this is the cheapest way). Except, that I need to take out more loans for useless classes just so I can have a normal life.
I don't know what to do. I don't think I'm eligible for medicaid, because I live with my parents (I would like to move out, but I can't afford it). I keep getting more in debt, trying to take my meds and live and work, but I just want to give up. I don't even think I count as disabled because I can still work (as long as I have medicine).
It seems (please don't attack me) that the best way would be for me to get pregnant so that I can get everything free (I live in NYS... and that's apparently the way the system works).
I could get free housing, have insurance, and get free food.
I've done everything I was "supposed to do" in life, being careful, and trying hard, and it's gotten me nowhere.

What would you do when a non-custodial parent has not been involved in their child's life in over two years? State of Texas says I can't move to another state until I get the non-custodial's parent's permission. Can I ask that the rights of the non-custodial parent be removed? I haven't any family in the area & would like very much to move out of state. All of my family lives up north. My ex does have his wages garnished & does not pay medical insurance. Why is it when someone asks for your opinion on a cat/pet related matter and as part of the answer, you say it should be neutered, they mark you down because it's not what they want to hear and/or because they can't afford it?
Surely if you're going to get a pet, you think about the cost of vaccinations, insurance, neutering, etc before you adopt it? Doesn't anyone think of the impact a pet will have on their life or, more importantly, the impact they'll have on the animals life?
And therefore, doesn't that mean that to be a responsible owner you will vaccinate and neuter your pet (unless it's for breeding purposes)?
And also take it to the vets if it's ill?

I recently adopted 2 ten week old kittens. I would never have considered adopting two cats if I couldn't pay for vets fees.
And JC, I used to foster cats for Cats Protection and they have heard excuses similar to that too!
I agree that we do sometimes get adopted by animals but surely the kinder (and harder) thing to do would be to give the animal to someone who CAN afford to look after it?
Mind you, I was on minimum wage, living on my own and in Dec 05, ate nothing but porridge for a week to make sure my kitty had food and litter and that I didn't have to touch the "vet fund" to care for her.
Yes, it's nuts but it was only temporary (and I don't mind admitting I'm a crazy cat lady!).
Thankfully my next pay was from a new job that paid considerably more so no more porridge for me! But I would have considered giving up Molly if I felt I wasn't giving her the best care available.

When i say cheap, I mean, the cheapest car available that isn't going to collapse the minute i get in it. As cheap as possible without sacrificing the quality. Hope that helps :)
when i say a small car i mean a really small car. I'm an average height girl and I don't particularly want to be driving around in a tank. my mum suggested a 1.1 - 1.4 engine. are there any decent, cheap peugeots?
