I'm 23 and have avg. credit, and I'm trying to finance a car that is 16k, but I'm going to put 5k down so I'll be financing around 11k. Is it a bad or good idea to fill out a dealership online application for credit? How long will it take to know if i'm approved or not? I always thought it was a bad idea because the dealer would know you are interested enough in their car before you even get there, so they won't haggle the price down too much.

I'm sorry its so long and it might not seem as bad to you but in my eyes its horrible there could be even worse and thank god they haven't come yet.
Like all week I've been super depressed because nothing right now is going to great and its not the first time either.
Like I've had a lot of things happen to me.
1st: My mom and dad had a divorce when i was around 3 because he was a drug and alcohol addict.
2nd: My mother re-married to a man named Tony when I was in pre-school and around fourth grade, my bro, sister, and I stayed the weekend at my aunt's house.
We left the house giving kisses and hugs to our Dad (meanwhile my mom was at work) and we came home and we expect him to be there I go down stairs all of his righting and drawing equipment is gone (he was and still is an animator). I run up stairs to see if he's up there all his clothes and everything are missing.
The next day what do you know? They're getting a divorce.
A year later we moved to another city that was closer to family.
It was the middle of 5th grade and I was having trouble fitting in.
I would stay in most recesses, sit on the wall not knowing what to do, just kind of walk around, the more popular kids picked on me a little bit but i got over it after like a month and pretty soon I was making friends with those kids. Now we're best friends.
When it came to 7th grade, it was a total downfall.
I was failing my classes (strait A's in 6th grade.)
I didn't feel comfortable where ever I went.
I missed a ton of school (32 days to be exact from September to January 24th.)
I got in fights (I won them...score lol.)
My mom was taking meds that didn't mix well and they made her seem like she was drunk all the time and it was very scarry.
She was out of a job and couldn't work because of the meds, but she could be a loan officer because she worked from home.
She did that every once in a while though because of her meds made her like that until about 5 o' clock.
Anyway I was't doing well in school, I had a ton of stress over my shoulders from my mom and this girl i really liked and the fact that I was failing. It made me get horrible migraines to where I needed a prescription drug for them. My Christmas sucked because my mom wasn't working so she had no money to buy us things. Luckily my awesome brother jumped in and sold some of his things to help out, and I love him very much for that.
One day my mom was supposed to be getting a $9000 check from the bank because of all her work for the loans she put through and one man at the bank decided he didn't want to give it to her...
and so we had no money what so ever. My mom couldn't pay for our house, they repossessed our BMW (very nice very fast, she couldn't pay that off either my bro did for like 4 months) our house and a lot of other things. They hadn't given us a single notice they just said you need to get out this weekend. Pretty soon it my last week in Kent and I was a wreck I wanted to punch wholes in walls and but cry at the same time. I wanted to find the man at the bank and take every penny he had and have him in the same position we were in.
It also didn't help that the girl I was in love with had no idea I was even though I told her like 11 times. She just couldn't grasp her hands on the fact that I love her. She was my best friend at the time too which didn't help either. She told me she would give me a hug everyday until iI left and tell me how much she would miss me. Boy did I love her even more for that. It came to my last day in that school district and everything seemed to just wind down like nobody really cared, I don't think I saw Taylor that day ( the girl I loved) either. And that tore me up just because I wanted her to know and actually know how I felt about her. I never had a chance to tell her.
I moved in with my aunt in Tacoma and I still live here I'm going into 8th grade this year.
I decided to finish 7th grade in online school because I couldn't take the new school, having to make new friends, homework and all that jazz. The online school were the worst thing I've ever done.

My mom right now lives in Port Townsend and she still doesn't have a job and she has no money she's been living with my other aunt (I have like 30000) and she wants me to move there for school but I refuse because its 3 hours away from any of my friends and Its very boring there.
Today actually my phone was shut off because the couldn't be payed
it's not the biggest deal but its my only way to keep contact with my friends and now I don't have that. :'[
P.S. Me and my siblings still occasionally see my father he went to rehab and he is better now and he loves us very much.

I am buying a 60,000 townhome with a VA loan. My lender is saying I have to bring 1000 to closing, after my 1000 earnest money and after 1600 HUD is paying in closing.. seems a little high to me. Every thing I have found online says closing costs 3-5%, this is approaching 6%.
No shit, I know what earnest money is, and that money can go to either part of a down payment or closing costs in this situation.

I met a guy a few weeks ago at school. Everything seemed well. He doesn't go to my school but his sister does, which is fine. He is in school which is important. Anyway the next few days after I met him everything was great. We had soo much chemistry. I then applied for the loans and signed the MPN. This was on Thursday(8/14). On Friday 8/15 I checked the status of the application online, and it showed I had a sub. loan application as incomplete. It said it was working with my school to find out eligibility and a few other things. I take it this means getting the loan certified. However, it is now showing anything about an unsub. loan. Do they process one at a time? I did not receive any grants,but at the time I applied for these loans on 8/14, I was only enrolled with 6 hours. I now have 12. Would this matter? I will call my school, but since they are closed today just trying to get some input.

Open Question: Help me with a tax related question, please!?
So i haven't worked since October last year (2007) and i was at University. I left University in January, but continued receiving my Student loan until about May.So i didn't really HAVE to work. I wasn't even receiving any government benefits or that!
Anyway, i now have a new job, and as you can see i haven't worked AT ALL this new tax year, so I really shouldn't get taxed at all, considering the allowance of £5k you get. However i did NOT receive a P45 from my last employer (from October) thus had to fill out a P46 when i started this new job.
I REALLY don't want emergency taxed (ouch!) but i don't know what to do. I have no payslips from my previous job as i used to get all those online, and they've disappeared now! I don't know who to phone, as the hmrc website doesnt help, cos i dont know the code for my tax office!

I have been attending the same university for one year. There were no problems with my FAFSA last year. My father began the process of completing my FAFSA in April of this year. I needed to use his information because, according to FAFSA regulations, I am technically still considered a dependent, although I have my own apartment, pay for my food, etc.
Anyway, he started in April, but had to submit a correction in May. I don't recall exactly what the correction was about, but I think it was something minor, like a signature. I waited for my student loans to kick in so I could use them to pay for my summer classes, as well as continue at my work-study job and pay for the health insurance that my university required me to buy. Whenever I went to the financial aid office, they claimed that my loans should kick in soon, and that there should not be a problem.
In June, however, my loans had still not kicked in. I went to the financial aid office again, and they now began to claim that my FAFSA had been selected for verification. According to them, I would not receive any financial help or continue receiving federal work-study money until I submitted extra paperwork. The people at the office where I work said they found it really odd that they had not been contacted about the situation. As a result, I had to stop working in that office, and I made the difficult decision not to sign up for any further summer classes, as I knew I would not be able to pay for them.
The office of financial aid claimed that they needed an income worksheet from my father, and that everything would be OK after that. In July, my father completed the worksheet and sent it. I was told by the financial aid office that there should be no further problems
The day before yesterday, with no prior warning, I received an e-mail from the financial aid office saying that they needed another worksheet before they could award me my funds. They are fully aware that classes begin in one week. As the situation stands, I am now not being allowed to register for classes, renew my health insurance, or go back to being employed in a work-study capacity due to the hold they have placed on my account. The hold is related to the costs incurred during the summer session, which had been set to be paid for with the loans that they are now denying me.
I called the FAFSA people on the phone and explained the situation. A customer service representative said it sounded "very unusual" to him, and that he could not explain what the problem could be. He looked at my FAFSA online, and said that everything looked perfect to him. Nothing had been highlighted or marked as troublesome in any way. My FAFSA had been completed long before the deadline. All the information submitted had been checked out and found to be true. It seems I was randomly selected for verification, as many people are. According to the representative, my expected parental contribution is zero, as it was last year, and it is clear by the information provided that I am in serious need of aid.
It seems that the income worksheet should have proven sufficient in terms of verification. No one I have spoken to understands why they would suddenly ask for another worksheet to be completed one week before classes begin, while they have had access to my FAFSA for over three months.
Can someone please help me? I am seriously considering dropping out and moving out of this college town due to this financial nightmare.

what would cause someone to have a security freeze? i've never been affiliated with the military, I DID suspect fraud on my bank account just two months ago, BUT that doesnt explain why i couldnt get my credit report the same time last year, back when i got my first credit card and had no credit whatsoever (a friend suggested i do that after she found out her parents used her SSN to take out a mortage they later defaulted!).
i thought getting a credit report was simple, whats with the hassle?

Adode reader will not work on my laptop. I've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled about a million times. I can't look at any online bills or esign my student loan because it says "Adobe has encountered a serious error and will close. Try reinstalling the program and try again." I didn't have this problem with my old Vaio, I just got this new one in May.

ok i went to a used car lot called automacks inc. in cocoa florida. i found this car online and liked what i saw and it was with in my price range. well the first week i had it the car overheated and i called the guy and he said that he would fix it no problem. well i didnt really want to keep it because of this but i sighed the papers and on my contract i read that once it was sighed there was no grace period or cooling off period so the deal was done and i was willing to accept this and move forward. so i ended up missing two days of work for this because it was being fixed by his mechanic. it ended up being the thermostat which was not a problem i understand things happen. so to some things up after i got the car back it drove great its an 2003 cavilier by the way, so anyways i needed to come up with some paper work i needed my bank statement and to show him i had full coverage insurance on the car so a week later i took it to him and i guess he never submitted it to the lender at the time he recived the imformation so two weeks go by and in those two weeks i got laid off and the same day the finance company called to verify my employment there and they were informed i was laid off due to economical cut backs and the economy so i get a call the following day from the dealer saying the loan didnt go through and that he was going to try and get it to go through some how some way so the next day he calls me and says hey i got a friend thats willing to say i work for him so the loan could go through well i thought about it and im not going to commit fraud cause this guys itching to get a sell i told him no and he said well were going to have to make something happen other wise hes got to take the car back. well i said if you are taking the car back i want my 800 dollar down payment back and he starts going into this prorate garbage and i read my contract and it says nothing about that any where in any of the paper work so he said something like "you act all big and bad on the phone why dont you act like that in person?" i then replyed "you never talk the way you do unless its on the phone nither!" so i got mad and hung up the phone i called the lender and let them know what was going on and hes been reported for this issue and then i called automax the real one not this garbage auto place and i told them this story and they told me that im entitled for a full refund of my down payment by law. well im not sure about any of this and i need some help i really need a car and im stuck between a rock and a hard place so what do i do? thank you for dealing with this and sorry for any punctuation.
well the guy came at 3 o clock in the morning and took the car even before my posted date to pay for the car and i called him and he says that the car was repoed? i called the finance company and they said the loan never went through so how does he repo a car before the payment date and that didnt even have a loan on it tell me that and hes got my tag and my kids car seat my cds a bunch of stuff the police told me it was a civil matter and that im going to have to take him to court?!?

My g/f of 3 and a half years dumped me about a month ago. She lives in Scotland, and I live in NYC. We met online, and a year later she helped get me on a plane to meet her. We had been madly in love ever since and we even talked about marriage and starting a family one day.
I visited her three times since, and spent over a year living with her total. We had been having problems for a while since my last return, arguments and petty fights over trivial things, but all in all we always talked about it and made up. I never wanted to fight but sometimes I wouldn't know how to express myself to her and it'd come out wrong.
A month ago she broke up with me during a minor disagreement, she said it was one time too many. Since then we've spoken a couple of times and I tried all I could in the hopes off not only finding out what I did wrong but also what I can do to fit things. She says she hasn't been happy in a while and that the distance was too much to bare. She also said that it looked like I wasn't doing enough to get there. I tried many options, including going back to college over there so we'd be together. When I had the papers for the loan, as well as the enrollment application done, she dumped me before I could even tell her.
I love her very much but it seems like she has no intention of giving us a second chance. I've been working overtime so I could go see her but I don't know if I should. Our relationship made me grow up a lot, and deep down I want to be the great man she saw in me; not for her but for myself. She was my world.
Am I holding onto a hopeless dream or would seeing her help? I love her with all my heart and it kills me inside to have lost her. I'm not sad cause I lost her, but us and everything we could have been together. I've had failed relationships before, even long lasting ones, but none hurt this much. Is it too late, or do you think this ship has sailed?

whats better to take? I enrolled to Everest College for Criminal Justice and start in 2 wks. It is very expensive even with financial aid. Which is what I want to do as a career, and is ALOT cheaper. The only down fall is no hands on learning. Please give me some advice!

I am currently in a DTR program at a local community college, pursuing an associates degree in dietetic technology. I plan to transfer to a UMDNJ, an online college program, to get my bachelor's degree and eventually become a registered dietitian. I have a definate interest in nutrition and I want to help people become healthier through diet. However, all I have heard is that RDs don't make that much money. Before taking out student loans to continue with school, I would like to ask anyone working as a dietitian to honestly let me know if its worth it. Where are the best jobs? (I live in the Philadelphia area) How much money is there to be earned? I don't really have any interest in working in a hospital. I would rather work in public health, with the WIC or Headstart programs. My teachers have obviously told me that dietetics is a great field to enter in to. I need an honest answer from someone working as a dietitian. Thanks !
Open Question: Do Companies that give bad credit personal loans allowed to ask for a couple months payment up front?
I applied for a bad credit perosnal loan online. A company called Birchmount Lending called stating i was approved for 5000.00, with monthyl payments of 224.54 for 2 years. But since my credit wasnt the best i would have to give them 4 payments upfront. Tell me what you think

my husband to be and i are renting a home now, everyone i know has just waited until theyre 35 and just got a cheap loan and bought a cheap house, were 26 with 2 kids and his 30,000+ income, and i make my own healthy online income, we have the money, were cleaning up our, not so bad credit, and with over 5,000 in income tax's each year, we have PLENTY of money but NO CLUE where to start getting a home loan the right way, do i just go to a realtor? OMG help us, HUD? FHA? we are considered to be low income, GRANTS????

I owe $2000.00 and cannot not get any loans. I work full-time but I live on my own and have a child and I can't return to school until I pay off at least $2000.00 of the $4000.00 I owe from summer.

Resolved Question: Trouble with car dealer after purchase!?
We bought a car from a dealer and had all the paper work signed, we were waiting on on transfer to go through, was not a loan or any financing-was cash. other than that the dealer said the car was ready to go. my fiancee left me at the dealership, she had an important appointment we forgot about and i ended getting a ride from the dealer's courtesy van to the hospital to meet her there. while we waited for the transfer. an hour later the dealer told us (obviously) we couldnt get the car til it went through. he said something about a loaner i didnt want it and was kinda mad. 30 minutes later he called back and said they received the transfer and we could go pick it up, told them to deliver it if it did go through. 15 min. later he showed up with the car with new plates and the registration sticker on it. a week later they reported it stolen, said we took it off the lot and a bunch of other crap. we had security footage from the college campus where it was delivered, proof of payment, and the police even checked the registration and it was in our name. everything was dropped and the car was to be returned by the towing co. instead the detective had it returned to the dealer and now they wont give it back and wont return our calls. yet we have had several thank you letters and congratulation letters from the dealer and from mitsubishi, even got a login name for SIRIUS online(which we love SIRIUS). An attorney got the charges dropped and the car was to be returned but wasnt so he wanted $2500 cash-not easy to come by- so he dropped us and we didnt get the car. Anyone have any Ideas? by the way, did not see the car on the lot, which means someone is probably driving it, since dealers like to put miles on new (unpurchased) cars. NEED HELP!!!
i thought about going to the media but from what i was told it was in the bloomington pantagraph and on the news about it being stolen. the police had a state wide APB on it. i know it was in the paper, i saw it. it was all false. which if they filed a false report to begin with, shouldn't the detective have done something about that since our charges were dropped?

Voting Question: Has anyone got a NatWest Graduate account?
I've had a student account with NatWest for three years and have now graduated. I think my account has switched over to a graduate account (it now says student/graduate when I log in to online banking)- but my overdraft has yet to be increased and i have heard nothing about graduate loans etc. Will my graduate overdraft automatically come into operation? Grateful to hear from anyone who has been in the same situation.

I am asking people who believe in a higher power, karma, or just plain kindness to be able to pledge to me $100 each. Of course any amount would help. I need $100,000 to get through the schooling and pay for cost of living with my two children and wife. I am unemployed recently and applied for federal aid, come to find out a pell grant is maxed out at $4,500. As far as a loan goes, my credit is shot due to non renewal of my contract at my job. Long story short I lived on my credit cards for a s long as I could. My family and I slept on the floor of my in laws restaurant for a year and a half. We worked for 12 years for them total with no pay. I had a second job that I was paid that left me with only 2 hrs sleep a day. I lost my house, cars, credit and pride. We helped them since they gave us shelter and food.I had no where else to go. We all worked for no money the whole time to help them out. Now the restaurant is closed and I am desperate to get back to school to make up for lost time. I beg for people out there to give a guy a chance, I am determined to make it. Voting Question: Does credit scoring differ in the UK as opposed to the USA/Canada?
For some time now, I have known my credit rating to be poor, due mainly to youthful irresponsibility resulting in one default and several late payments.
I recently purchased my experian report, and have obtained a credit score of 702, and live in Northern Ireland. I know that I'm unable to even obtain a contract mobile phone at present, yet much online literature seems to put 700 and above within the good credit category?
I ask mainly because I may wish to take out a loan to start up a business within the next years or so, and am afraid past mistakes may have ruined my chances.
I also have moved around alot, had several different addresses, several different banks and numerous jobs in the last 6 years, don't see myself ever being able to afford my own house, and have yet to find a steady job that will be able to sustain me until such a time as I'm ready to go into business myself, given my lask of formal academic or vocational qualifications and haphazard work history.
Any help shedding light on what my score means and how I can improve it would be greatly appreciated!
