My goal is to record video, edit them (using camera or PC software), and post
on Utube. The manual instructions tell me to choose VR format, when formatting
bro–new DVD-RW. It says: If a disk is recorded in VR dormat, the dta can be exported on computer. It does not tell you how to do this.
I was able to record and edit the movie right on camera.
Problem starts when I was willing to transfer the video to PC.
After I edit DVD-RW on a camera and put the disk on PC disk derive – PC could not recognize the format of the video file.
I downloaded a few Software such us Handbrake, Ulead Video Suite, Movavi Video suite.
None of them are able to recognize the file format.
The error message I get:”DVD – RTAV format not supported.” The file extension is .IFO
I know, if I would format new DVD-RW in video format and then after finalizing edit through one of those software – I would be okay.
But I have a few movies I already recorded in VR format. I am looking for a solution to
Transfer those into PC. Please help,
Oksana.
Open Question: camcorder ?!?!? Whats the best for us to buy? ?
My hubby & I have been looking at camcorders, trying to pick out the best for our lives & budget. We have twin boys that do about every sport there is, that's the main reason we want to get one but there are so many different varieties to pick from and they are so expensive that we're stumped. We would really appreciate some advice. I know we need a good zoom (football field) and we don't want to mess w/tapes. We've been looking at primarily sony & panasonic. But I would like to keep this purchase as cheap as possible (would love to pull it off for $300 or less). I had my eye on the Sony Handycam DCR-DVD610 Hybrid Recording Camcorder. Truth be told we get so frustrated looking, we feel totally out of our comfort zone because there are so many selections and then we're unsure of things like...do we need to buy extras?
Any suggestions for a camera & the best place to purchase one? Thanks so much for any recommendations!

Open Question: would a 6V DC(output) adapter work well with panasonic cordless phone with which a 6.5V DC adapter ws given? ?
I actually bought this panasonic 5.8 GZ cordless phone (model no KX-TGA430B) from US (to INDIA) . An adapter (that works with 110 V input AC supply) was provided. I was stupid enough to connect that adapter in india to a 220 V input AC supply . Obviously, it was permanently damaged Anyways, I bought a new indian adapter that works on 220 V AC input supply. But there's a problem. The original adapter was 6.5 V (DC) , 500mA (OUTPUT) and this new one is 6V (DC) , 500mA (OUTPUT). Is there any problem. The phone is working well, but can there be any problem in future?

Open Question: I Lost All My Camera Accesories!!!!?
I bought a panasonic DMC-LZ10 like two weeks ago. I remember taking the camera and it's case out of it's box then leaving it somewhere(in my house). We have been getting ready to move so constantly packing and throwing away things. Now I can't seem to find the box. Which I never actually looked at closely but from other sites there was suppose to be
* The 10.1 effective Megapixel Lumix DMC-LZ10 camera
* Two AA alkaline batteries
* Wrist strap
* USB cable
* A/V cable
* CD-ROM featuring PhotoFunStudio, ArcSoft Software Suite, Adobe Reader, QuickTime, and drivers
* 138 page camera manual (printed)
So I've basically lost all of that. Now I'm hoping it's still in the house but after 4 days of continously scouring each and every room in the house i have a feeling my mother threw it out.
Now what can I do. Is it possible to get my warranty to kick in and help me even though i'm not sure I can register the product with only the camera and the reciept. I bought it online. Do I say all the accesories got mysteriously damaged or do I just tell them the truth IF my warranty covers this.
Also can these things jsut be bought seperately from like best buy?
Thank you so much. That was a big relief to me!

Open Question: Why do the new Sony LED TV's not have SAP?
We are shopping for a new TV with secondary audio system because my wife is blind and the descriptions on SAP help a great deal. They are also helpful to the sighted in that they point out visual things that we might otherwise over look (like something going on in the background.) Panasonic has an SAP button on the remote. Sony does not, nor does their menu include SAP. Panasonic does not have an LED TV, which is my preference. Who manufactures a 40-42 inch LED TV with SAP?

Open Question: Sony Component AV Cable Problem (PS3)?
I bought one these a few weeks ago and have been using it on my Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ7OOU. I ran the display on 720p and it worked fine until today. I turned on my PS3 and it had gone back to 480i and it says its a Composite / S Video. When I select Component / D-Terminal (which it is and was selected as when it worked) as the connector it allows me to, but only runs in Standard (NTSC). I Test it in 720p and it goes to the screen (in 720p def) and says, "Resolution: 720p Currently displaying in the selected resolution. The screen will automatically go back to the previous resolution." With the 30 second countdown. It doesn't allow me to accept the setting and it only shows the circle button as the option to go back. Another thing that caught my eye was the "Select all resolutions that are supported by your TV." & "If the resolution is not correct, the screen will go blank. After 30 seconds the system will go back to the previous screen." is in a very faint text that was hard to see at first and not white like the other text. When I press [], > or ^ it doesn't do anything, and when I press X or O it takes me back to the previous screen and the resolution is in Standard (NTSC) again and when I go back to Video Output settings its in 480i Composite / S Video. Yes, everything is connected in the right place. No, its not the TV. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. PS, is there a good, HDMI cable on the market for the PS3? It might just buy that if this one is broken. Thanks.
Open Question: Where can I recycle old appliances near Modesto California?

Open Question: Will this battery replacement work?
I own a Victorinox swiss army knife with digital altimeter that needed a battery replacement. According to the user manual, the battery should be Panasonic CR 1225, 3V. However, I found that an alkaline AG10 (LR1130) fits perfectly well. The digital altimeter seems to work well, despite the fact that the AG10 battery delivers 1.5 V (and not 3 V as the CR 1225). My question is... will the digital altimeter work well with half the recommended voltage? Can the electronics be damaged if using 1.5 V instead of 3V? I also found the the CR 1225 is a lithium battery, whereas the AG10 is an alkaline one... would this affect the performance? Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Open Question: Incoming fax problem Panasonic DP 2310 - comm. code 490 - how do I fix this?
Our Panasonic DP 2310 fax function has problems with incoming faxes from certain numbers. The communication gets cut off before it's finished and I only get a partial fax. Then it keeps trying and I end up with 10 pages of useless partial faxes.
I have tried a different fax machine on the same line, and it does not have that problem, so it's not the fax line. I have also put in a DSL filter since the internet line is also the fax line. No luck - we still have the same problem.
The communication log shows a code of 490 every time one of these faxes comes through. The manual indicates "Incoming data has too many errors - check with sending party" - but like I said, if I switch the fax machine there are no problems.
Does anybody have any further ideas?
Open Question: How dangerous are battery leaks?
hello people,
so how dangerous are battery leaks?
i'm just really worried. i bring a graphing calculator to school and i'm just really afraid that if the battery leaks it can somehow get into my food. (i know it's probably unlikely, but it could happen). so...
what happens if the battery (or batteries) leak, and the leak gets onto my food, and i eat it and only realize what happened later when it's too late to seek medical help. what will the battery do to my body? how toxic is it? these are duracell AAA alkaline batteries.
and also i bring my Cd player to school, and it has Panasonic Super Heavy Duty AA batteries. what happens if those leak and get ingested?
And also,what happens if i accidentally swallow a battery, or like a part of it?
and are all types batteries equally toxic?
do batteries have expiration dates? what if they're expired?
sorry...i'm just really paranoid, and i'm so scared.
thanks in advance for your answers
thanks ralph.
obviously i'm not gonna put my battery in a bag of cherios. but what if, say my calculator is in the same bag as my box of cherios, and the battery leaks through the the box and into my cherios?
Thanks Ralf.

Open Question: Please explain 1024 X 768 HD resolution, WHY are they made?
Hi, I always do my research when buying anything expensive and I've come to a screeching halt here...
Why do most 42" plasma sets have 1068 X 768 resolution when the standard for source is 1368 X 768? I own one of said sets and personally picked it out of the entire line up in the store because it's picture was obviously better. (Panasonic - I also read nothing but GREAT reviews on their technology/sets)
Now I've found that it's cutting off parts of the picture. (Xbox, PS3, PC, Blu ray, standard inputs, everything is blown up out of frame). I've used the stretch/skew to shrink down all my inputs to fit the screen. Now I can't help but feel that hurts picture quality although it still looks amazing. I also can't help but feel a few hundred more lines of resolution (even on 42") would resolve more detail. But from what all the critics say, you will struggle to tell the difference between 1080P and 720P at 42" so the 1068 VS 1368 will look exactly the same.
But what are these critics comparing? Yeah, almost any HD set looks great on a good quality, well lit close up shot. You can see the pores, sweat, each piece of hair but what about backgrounds? Do the higher resolution sets produce consistently clearer backgrounds?
They say you can see a difference between a PC hooked up on 720 VS 1080P, why wouldn't you see a difference in a movie or game?
I'm sure you can see it's all very confusing.

the panasonic is the 42 "Viera"
the Vizio is the 42 (VP 423)
