Open Question: Party Ideas for a 50 year old?
My mom is turning 50 and we are throwing her a surprise party. I want it to be fun...not necessarily with a theme, but some games, like poker, for some people...scavenger hunt??? There will be about 30 people and it is at a house. Any party ideas will be great!

Last night I was at a party with my boyfriend (been with him for 3 months), and we were playing strip poker with another couple who just got engaged and are my boyfriends good friends. I was very intoxicated Anyways, the other couple talked my boyfriend and I into having a foursome, we agreed. Everything was going okay, until I looked over and the other girl was kissing my boyfriend and than started to give him a head. All of a sudden I started crying hysterically in the middle of the foursome. The other couple left right away, and my boyfriend held me and said "it's just you and me babe" and he said he was sorry. Okay, so I have this good friend (girl) who I really like alot and I just went on vacation for a week with mine & my fiance's daughter. So recently I've been having a very strange reaction to drinking alcohol, I begun testing myself a few weeks ago in the privacy of my own home. I'm actually intoxicated right now as I am writing this. I have had about 5-6 shots of Captain Morgans (80 proof) in the last 3 hours. This is what I am feeling: I basically feel like I have tremendous energy, I tested myself lifting weights, I can curl almost 15 pounds more than I normally can while I'm sober, my heart rate is slightly higher than normal (but not at an unhealthy level), and I have the feeling that like I can do anything.
Now I know that might sound weird... but the strangest part is that I can think clearly in spite of all this. The things I feel like doing, such as going out and partying at a club or finding somewhere to go with friends, I can stop myself easily. I still have total control over my actions, and of course would do nothing stupid (unless you count online poker, which ironically I play better under the influence).
The reason I am posting this is b/c I want to know if anyone has experienced something similar or if this may be a cause for any alarm. Please give me any advice you may have.

In science class we have to watch these videos and take notes, some times, if we're good, he lets us just watch and not write anything.
I got this idea, and I tested it today. While we were no taking notes, I got me and three of the people sitting next to be to slide down, so they were leaning against the wall and sitting under their desks. Nobody noticed except for the one person sitting by me in the row across from us. The teacher didn't notice us, and we goofed around until the video was almost over. Then we climbed back up and acted like normal.
What if I invited friends to sit next to me, and we could bring food, drinks, ipod, cell phones, even cards and play Poker or something. We could go all out on this. I mean pretty much a small party, underneath our science class desks.

I heard a story, i think on the radio, about 2 years ago. A comedian was being interviewed, and he was telling about his time in russia. He had signed up for russian classes because he thought the teacher was hot, he thought he was in a spanish class for a week or so. A class trip to russia was planned, and not enough people signed up to go, he was asked to tag along and did. While in Russia the group had a few mob guys escorting them around, and one day after drinking, he had knocked on the wrong door and the mob guys just looked at him like they were gonna kill him and he thought he said "my name is [don't remember his name]" in reality he had said "I am a machine". The mob guys laughed and repeated "I am a machine" over and over, and they played poker. Later in the week they were on a train and the mob guys were robbing it and had him collect the goods. The police showed up and he was freaking out and the teacher he was with kept saying i told you not to talk to those guys, i cant do anything for you, and stuff. The police get to the guy and eye him up and ask if he is the machine. He says yeah i guess. The police officer laughs and says Machine, tonight you party with us. So he spent a few days partying with the russian police, even driving the cop car. I think the comedian's first name might have been bert. If anyone can tell me the comedian's name or the source of the story, that would be awesome.

Im planning a casino party night and there will be 3 games: poker, blackjack, and bingo. The way i was gonna do it is give everyone a certain amount of monopoly money at the beginning and thats all they would get for the night. Then they could buy chips with that money for poker and blackjack, and buy in to bingo games with it. And at the end the top few people with the most money would get prizes.
There will be around 30 people there and I need help figuring out how much monopoly money I should give people and how much money=1 chip for poker and blackjack. There will be about 3 hours of playing and i want to make sure there is enough where it can last people for at least a decent amount of time, but I dont want to give too much either since I only have so many chips. I could come up with about 1000 chips, but could buy more obviously if youd think I need more and pretty much have an endless supply of monopoly money through me and my friends. I will have loser games and other stuff to do for people who lose all their money.
Any ideas?

So this past weekend my boyfriend had some of his friends from work over to our new house to have a little cookout and to play some poker. To help with the food, he charged people that were going to eat $5 and he only did that because we were going on broke but he still wanted to have a little fun and we spent over $80 on food for it. Then for the poker, he charged $5 to pay the house and a $20 maximum buy-in. So all was well, everyone was having fun...until my boyfriend's brother and dad saw people cheating, one of the players wife just jumped in early on and dealt most of the time and she would slide chips to her husband, and then what ruined the whole night...there was a misdeal, so the pot was supposed to stay, so she figured "hey, everyone's drinking, no one will notice" and slid the chips into her husband's pot. My bf's brother saw it and flipped out. In the end, we ended up losing about $140 due to people cheating while playing poker, me paying for more beer for everyone (no one had change for $20's so I was just going to pay for it and after I left they all decided to take the chips aside and take it out of everyone's pot who was drinking it...so they took the chips aside, but then one guy snuck it all back into his pile.) ...my bf's cousin couldn't find her bag that she had brought, and then the next day I found that $25 was missing from my wallet. I knew exactly how much money I had in my wallet after I made a beer run, we went to the gas station the next day and I had $3 in there AND in a different place then where I put my money. My purse was in our bed room most of the night and there was only 1 guy that used the bathroom in our bedroom that night. It was the same guy who's wife kept stealing chips for him and putting them in his pile for him.
My question is...is there anything I can do about my missing money? I have no real proof that he was the one who took it and it was a little party, so I always expect things to get missing anyway and I should have guarded my purse better. If I can, I will call the cops about it. I don't care that I don't have the $25...it's just money. But if someone was really that hard up for money, if they just asked for some money to get gas, cigs, whatever they were using it for...I would go without to help someone (and we sure are going without...we now have like $70 to make it until NEXT Friday.) ...but the fact that someone went into my purse and just took it is what pissed me off enough to call the police about it.
What should I do? Should I get my bf to try to handle it first, since it's his co-workers? I don't know.
Oh yeah, I'm definitely getting my bf to say something when he gets to work today...the only people there were some of his co-workers and some of his family...and I'm fairly certain they wouldn't steal from me. And I don't care if I never see that $25 again, it's not about the money now...it's about having respect for people that invite you into their home. And if it was someone from his work that took it...I want them to know that I know it's been stolen. Because I think they were thinking, "hey, everyone's been drinking, no one will notice." Buuuut....I didn't drink. I had Mountain Dew all night, because I'm just naturally paranoid about having people in my house, which after last Saturday just affirmed that even more. And I had counted my money after I got the beer just so I would know how much I had left, so I knew how much I had.

My husband's brother is Bipolar and is currently taking Lithium.
To make a long story short, he and his wife are both nuts and when they split up - which is quite frequent - he often lands on our door step.
Well, two weeks ago he showed up and has not left.
He has drawn the conclusion that he dos not need to "work" because he has no obligations - Even though he has two daughters that he fails to support and owes my MIL alot of money...
We are best friends with our neighbors and have a poker parties every Friday night. He tagged along and proceeded to drink a ton of their beer and started making our friends uncomfortable by saying things that the average person would NOT say.
To top this off, I suspect that he is NOT taking his Lithium, which can prove to be disastrous because he has schizophrenic episodes.
So, this morning my husband went to breakfast with his best friend and his brother - once again - tagged along and made our friend uneasy again.
We are at our wits end but honestly do not know what to do. Family will not intervene so, we are stuck dealing with this fragile man and continue to be hijacked by his intrusions and rambling thoughts...
So - what would you do about this? I have told my husband - who is normally very up front with people - to tell him that he needs to get a job, work on getting his own place and leave our friends alone. But, we are so reluctant because of his "fragile" state...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I love this guy as if he were my own brother but we are so worn out by this that we have lost our own sense of direction!
He receives his medication through the government. He was institutionalized last year when I started demanding that the family step in and help. For months, he has been fine but I see that "spacy" look in his eyes again...

I don't want to just put it back into my account, that takes over a week because i live in Canada, which also rules out suing the paypal plugin that allows you to create a temp mastercard and transfer to a third party. Im curious to find out if anyone else has had a problem with these incapable idiots. I have had an account for 3 years and deposited in excess of £10,000 over that period. I had some problems a couple of days ago to which i was told they would get back to me within 24 hours. I then emailed again and was "ASSURED" it would be answered within 24 hours. Still, it has not! I have contacted them again and again, and they just refuse to reply. Anyone else had the same?

Ok. This dream was so weird I almost blew up.
Background: ive been in love with steve for a year but we never wenr t out cuz im chicken. then my best friend asked him out and they went out for 2 months. then they broke up and i started liking him more. now i like him a little less but still. ive only drempt of him twice.
In my dream i was running on a road with all the graduates of my middle school. then suddenly heads and hands started faling off of them. I called Steve and said OMG! this party is da bomb! come on and check it out! So he came and his hand fell off and he said wow this is fun!! THEN we went to an antique shop and he bought me a plant with my aquantances giftcard. Then he drove me down a lane lined with burgers, french fries, and milk shakes in a hot pink barbie looking sports car. I also owned a phone exactly like him and exactly lke the one i had from another dream that i had of perfection. Next, we went to a poker studio with my friends and one of my friens skirt came off and she got embarresed. She and her worst enemy were best friends. then Steve asked me if i thought this guy jon was beautiful and i said he was so beautiful i cud cry. so I made myself cry even though it was because of him. I put the tear on my finger and gave it to him. he reached out and did little chomping spunds pretending to eat it. but then when their attention was elsewhere, he took the tear, licked it, and looked me in the eyes. My heart beated a lot but i felt like i was going under. I loved him so much in that dream but now my heartonly beats when i see him since he broke my heart so bad. I dont understand this dream because in it we were best friends, maybe even a couple because i kept calling him and he was taller and looked 16 (im 13). what does this mean?????

My husband and I were invited to a "Couples Party" by one of his golf/poker buddies. My husband made a point of calling it a "Couples Party" when he told me about it, and makes a point of calling it that everytime it comes up.
I met the host of the party once or twice when he came to do work on our house, and I know one other couple that will be there. They make a point of calling this a "Couples Party" when talking about it as well. My husband and the other couple know everyone that have been invited, and it seems as though I've been left to go to this party 'blind'.
Am I reading too much into this, or is there something peculiar about this invitation? i.e. Key Party, Swinging

I've questioned my husband about the true intent of the party, and he has denied that it's a swingers party. When it comes to nudity, sex, etc., I feel that maybe he's a little too naiive to think that his Pals are into this sort of lifestyle.
Irregardless, it's a party invitation and a night out. I don't drink, so will obviously be driving. If things get uncomfortable, at least I'll be able get home safely.

...so we created this huge list (17) of misfits at our school - all of different ages (7th -11th grade). Is that pathetic? Since all of them are outcasts (and unsocial) how should we keep it fun? We already planned to serve weird food. My friend also suggested we watch cartoon porno. What else can we do. What would be something cool. All the none-loners in our classes just wander on the streets; how would a band of 17 misfits wandering around the streets. The budget is under ten bucks (couting food). The will stay from 9 - 2. Is poker okay? And what kind of alcohol is festive but not formal and "fun" but not a drunk's fav? Oh, and this whole party is a scheme to get people to join a Good-Deed club that we made to make up for our lack of sport participation for college.
