Now that I'm pretty mature I don't have acne anymore but I have some scarring on my back and shoulders which look like small red bumps on my back, almost like a large mole. They have treatment to smooth it out but the redness would still be there, so I think I could cover it up with tattoos' I like but that be expensive My question is, although I don't have many, is this a turn off for a lot of girls or do you really mind it at all? Guys, if you have it how do you deal with it? There are many girls out there that think I am attractive but I feel theyd almost be repulsed. However, I don't know if Im making it a bigger deal than it really is.

So I'm 21 (still young I guess) but I've never had so much problem before with acne or frequent breakouts. I mean I would get an occasional pimple in high school but nothing like what I have now. I mostly breakout on the sides of my cheeks and the chin area. My brother says it's because I've been eating out too much and my dad says its because of stress (I moved back home about a year ago to care for my grandma, who has late stage 2 Alzheimers and am still continuing school and work). Well the real question is what can I do to stop the breakkouts? Are there any good treatments (at home remedies/over the counter medicines/or whatever... Open Question: Roaccutane treatment for Acne...Advice?
I'm 15 and have just got back from the dermatologist after being on erthromycin for a year and a half...it has made it slightly better but it is still pretty much there. She suggested roaccutane...which would be over in 4 months but i would have to start taking birth control...but i'm a size 18....so i don't want to gain weight!! I also heard of bad side effects...which are rare but still occur such as depression etc..I also can't be in the sun....so the Summer wouldn't be a great time to start it I am now starting a new antibiotic...can't remember the name...but obv not as powerful as roaccutane....so this may just be another p*ss about antibiotic which could do nothing and I could have it over in 4 months with roaccutane. I have had acne since I was 8/9 years old so I'm getting extremely fed up...I'm also at risk of permamanent scarring...:S Sooooo....bit puzzled you know.....any advice from people with past experiences with roaccutane and acne clearing up from antibiotics would be greatly appreciated! Also....my mum is freaking out a bit over the whole birth control thing and the monthly pregnancy tests....so is roaccutane really worth it!!?? Thanks!

I'm going to start off by saying that i don't really have acne, i have a couple zits on my chin and some on my forehead, honestly nothing major, but i have scarring from when i did have it kind of bad so i got Proactiv, I started using it on christmas because it came in the mail the day before. I know i havent been using it for a long time at all, not even two weeks, but from the stuff I have read about it, it only works for a very small amount of people. I'm seeing a dermatologist eventually but I honestly don't think I need too, its not that bad, but i feel if it was completely gone, I would be a lot happier. Any really good over the counter Acne treatments that will work for scarring/stopping future? I'm willing to spend what I spent on proactiv (50$) because if (again this is a worst case senerio where proactiv isnt working within the 60 day trial) what should i get?

Hello, I had a single treatment of microdermabrasion 1 year ago to treat light acne scars, I don't remember if I took care of my skin like I should have done (all day sunscreen) or if my skin was too sensitive... I developed very fine lines all over my face, when I smile it feels like waxy skin, and you can see them. Like if i had a layer of dry white glue. Also, at the side of my eyes, i developed little bumps (like a rash, same color as skin) that have not gone yet, like it is part of my skin now. It almost feels like my skin reacted making a new rough skin of layer. I was thinking of repeating the micro or doing some kind of chemical peel to take the layer out again. But I don't know if I am going to go through the same. Anyone has experienced similar results, or have any advice?

I was recently prescribed Retin-A and another acne medication for treatment of acne. I have used Retin-A many years ago in conjunction with glycolic acid (applied by a dermatologist) and it was like a miracle cure. I stopped using it for a while though. Now I am in my 30's and after applying the medicine I noticed from day one that my skin began to develop a natural glow and my pores look smaller... now it's all gross because the acne from below is coming out, but this will go away soon. My question is, is there any other parts of the body that can benefit from Retin-A. I understand that I would not be able to put this all over my body due to systemic effects that it could have. What should i do with my zits? I heard if you squeeze them when it is scabbed and then put acne medication (I have obagi) it won't scar up. I always end up having scabbed white zits, and they look really bad but i dont squeeze them because people tell me it is going to scar up. I have a few acne scars, and I really want them gone within a few days, but I don't have time to get to a dermatologist. Does anyone know any home remedies, like a face mask or something? Any ideas are helpful!

ok so two days ago i woke up and between my eyes it was all swallon and the swelling has gome done put now i have a hard oval shaped bump there...i tried sqeezing it and poked it with a needle a few times the break it open a little and sqeeze...well when i sqeeze it only clear fluid and blood comes out..no puse...i have tried hot and cold packs the last two days and soem over the counter acne treatment but it wont come to a head and i squeezed it and poked a needle at it a lot and it is all red and irrated now....so im afraid it will scar.... help please!! any idea what it may be or how to get rid of it

Hey there! I'm in my late teens and I have superficial acne scars (only concentrated on my cheeks) from past acne breakouts. The regular doctor that I went to once said I can get my face fixed with microdermabrasion etc etc by a dermatologist and since my acne has mellowed, I was wondering if it is safe for someone my age to undergo either dermabrasion or chemical peels??? Has anyone of my age ever been treated under such treatment??? Any advice??? Thanks heaps!

i have these blotchy light purple marks where my acne used to be above,and beside my lips.they are hideous and once a new bump comes it almost always turns into a purple spot after it the bump fades .and when i go out into cold weather my skin turns paler and the spots get darker.are the purple spots only on my face because its winter??? will they dry out and disappear in the summer???? ive been putting acne on the spot treatment on them but only for one day.il try it every night now.is there any creams or any help about getting these purple spots away?? thanks so much.
