Another great theme would be a St. Petersburg (Russia) casino. That would just be crazy!!!

hi guys, i'm planning to go to Macau n Hong Kong in September, and i think i will stay at The Venetian Macau. and i'm wondering about the dress code. before having her baby, my sister got me a job in las vegas working at bouchon bakery in the venetian casino. i felt great! she offered and said she would send me a book of all the breads and so on, she even offered to take me to work and yes i offered to pay her for gas. i bought my clothes for work and was planning on going this week. she has her baby and tells my mother that she knew nothing of me going. i was a little disappointed. i felt that was unfair, she offered! now she says she wont have time. why didnt she think of that before? as of things couldnt be worse, not only did she back out on the favor she was going to do for me but now has asked my mom if i can go help her out with the kids which i see as pointless. ive helped her out for 4 straight summers and im tired of it, she makes me do it all - the cookin, cleaning, and taking care of her kid sometimes 10 hrs in 1 day. should i b mad she bailed on the favor or overlook it?

Resolved Question: Sightseeing in Las Vegas?
Going to Vegas with my parents(age 40+) and we plan to stay at the Venetian. How many days do you suggest we stay to see all if not most of the top attractions of vegas. No gambling but will visit the top casinos to check out the ambiance and hotel scenery only . Aside from natural scenic sights we are also interested in attractive man made structures. No shopping but interested in seeing shops that look attractive. We can set aside a maximum of 10 days if needed.

My friend and I are going to Las Vegas for a long weekend and we are taking her 14 year old daughter. Which hotel would be the best location if we wanted to do a lot of shopping, wandering into different casinos, etc. We don't really gamble, don't go clubbing, obviously since we'll have a child with us. Right now, I am looking at the Venetian, Ceasar's Palace, Treasure Island, and Paris hotel. If anyone has something they don't like about any of these 4 places, I'd love to hear it.
I'd also like to know which one has the best breakfast buffet!
Price not such a big deal, central location and good shopping is key.

I was thinking about moving up in the world as far as front desk work goes, I currently work at a locals hotel/casino making a fairly good rate. The thing I hate about job hunting is that you don't know your salary or hourly rate until the interview process. I hate to go through all that to find out I would be making less...the bottom line is supporting my family and thats pretty much number one. I know that the drinking age is 18 in Hong Kong but is it heavily enforced? Is it kind of like going to Europe where nobody cares or is it like Canada or the US? Also, if I were to go up to the slots in a casino like the Venetian in Macau and I am 15 turning 16, would they kick me out?

i am thiniking to make a trip there from the u.s., since hearing they just opened the world's largest casino (venetian macau) and recently overtook vegas in profits. are things such as the table card numbers of blackjack or poker, or slot machines worded/numbered in chinese or english? if it's in asia, i would imagine it would be in chinese, so how could this cater to americans and the rest of the tourists? if they were in english, how would it cater to the local chinese that can't read english? thanks for any hepful info. i don't think there will be anything like vegas, but the macau cotai strip sure sounds intriguing for recreational entertainment overseas.

My fiance is currently working at a big strip casino as a floor supervisor and hates it (the place he works for not the job), he has his second interview at The Venetian ( for floor supervisor) and I was wondering what people who work there think of the company?

I recently was gathering information for my occasional trip to vegas well While doing so I accidentaly mixed the Venetian Casino with Dallas, TX and that searchbrought up an address in Dallas,TX.. well I knew that had to be an error so i tried mgm and another company which also showed addresses close to the venetian in the Dallas area. Now if you're not from TX you should know that Casino gambling is illegal in Texas.. But it looks like some companies must have a foothold here just waiting for it to be legalized so they can build A.S.A.P. Any insiders have any info or is it just something else. What do you think?

I think Las Vegas is the world's biggest rip-off for the following reasons:
1.) Everything is cleverly disguised to take your money, and lots
of it. The casinos themselves are giant hoover vacuums
for the sole purpose of seperating you from your money. Only
seniors, and mind-numbed seniors at that, could possibly find
1000's of slots ringing in the Key of C at the same time entertaining.
2.) The shows are way overpriced. Get real! $100 a ticket is
normal now everywhere. Sigfried and Roy were the first to
charge$100, now everything's $100+.
3.)The food is way overpriced. Didn't it seem like yesterday
when food specials(SURF AND TURF $7.99) were everywhere?
Now you have to be rich as emeril to buy a burger!
4.) Every major resort is essentially a giant shopping mall,.
disguised as a theme(forum shops, venetian, wynn's, NYNY,
etc.), with a thrill ride attached. You can get the same visceral
thrill by walking around the Mall of America
5.)Airport slots,to suck whats left

Live in UK and hubby and I are going for 5 days at end of October. Got a book about it and looked on websites wot to do there - Grand Canyon def, and Death Valley, But there are so many hotels and casinos to see while u're there.
