  • Open Question: Late period but not pregnant. What?!?
I am a sexually active 16 year old girl. I have been having my period since I was in grade 6 (so since I was 11) and it has never been regular, but never this bad. I am at 40 days since my last period and the longest I've ever gone before this is 31. I have taken two pregnancy tests and both have come up negative. I haven't had any weight gain or loss and I have not been under any more stress than usual. I have had all of the symptoms of being pregnant which are almost identical to my monthly symptoms. I usually play soccer and we just won cities so could it be the opposite that if you STOP being so active your cycle is off? The only birth control I use are condoms so it's not that and I don't take any kind of medication other than one or two pain killers a month. Help me!

  • Open Question: When dieting, when is the best time to see the results of weight loss?
I don't know if I'm losing weight or not yet, but I've been on a strict diet for the last 5 days and I haven't had any soda or fast food. I've been eating Cheerios/skim milk with a yogurt Dannon Light and Fit smoothie, carrots, a turkey sandwhich, Sun Chips (one serving), water, Smart Ones entrees, a banana every few days, an apple, and orange juice. I'm very serious about dieting/working out this time. I've stepped on the scale every 2 days since I've started this diet and I don't know if the scale at work is accurate. I've weighed myself twice already and I was orginally 160lbs and then I became 158lbs, than 154lbs. Everyone is telling me that this is water I'm losing. All the food and water I eat I guess is the first to go. Is that right? Does this mean I've lost weight already? I mean, would I have to lose 5 - 10 lbs before seeing the results?

Hi, I am 26 years old and would like to lose 2 stone in weight. I am currently just under 12st. I am 5ft 8 tall. I go to the gym 4 times a week, one pure weights session, 2 body pump classes and one pure cardio session a week. I have been eating healthy, snacking on fruit rather than chocolate and crisps and eating fresh salad and grilled chicken for my evening meals most days. I am at breaking point with what to do now because surely after months of training the fat should be going and my weight should be dropping?? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can kick start the weight loss? Do you think protein shakes will help? I look forward to hearing what people have to say. :)

  • Open Question: Weight Loss Question? Please Help!?
Ok well I would like to lose about 10 kilograms. I am not majorly overweight, but I tend to carry excess weight on my lower abs/hips/back (muffin top area) and would like to get fitter. I have read that when fat is burned, it is first burnt off from wherever there is the most fat (usually in women, their boobs, men their guts)......however, I was wondering...is this true? Because my boobs are not that big. Would that mean that fat would be burned off from my stomach/hips first since that is the largest deposit of fat on my body? There is less fat on my boobs and butt, so there is less fat to use up/burn from those areas? I am just a little confused and would appreciate it if someone could help me understand a little! Thanks.

  • Open Question: Is this weight loss specific to running?
I lost half a stone a while back through running. I was only a bit overweight and needed to lose a little from my bum and tum. However, all the weight came off my boobs and they looked like deflated balloons! (much to the dismay of my husband!). The weight has crept back on since (stopped running) and my boobs are back now, but I'd like to lose that pesky half stone again. If I start running again will the weight go from my boobs again? Is this specific to running or will other exercise do this too? I'm curious if I'll always lose from there or if there are other exercises which will make the fat go from other places. Is it just an unfortunate fact of all weight loss or is running particularly bad for creating 'puppy ears'? Hey guys, thanks for the weird and wonderful weight loss miracle tablets etc but I'm actually asking a specific question about running...

  • Open Question: Several questions about weight loss?
I have been trying to lose weight for a long time but always tend to get off track. I've now decided that I am going to be very serious about weight loss. Right now I am 5'8 and weigh 145 pounds. I don't have a very large build but I've always used the excuse that I'm "big boned" as why I am a little heavier, however the more I look at myself I actually have a relativity small build. I wouldn't say I'm fat but I definitely have a little baby weight that needs to come off. For example my stomach...I do have a pretty strong stomach however there is a layer of fat over the top causing my abs to not be visible. I've tried everything to get rid of this. I'm wondering how much cardio and what types are best for burning the fat off my body. I lift weights a lot so i definitely have muscles but they aren't as visible as I would like because of the extra weight I'm carrying. I'm just wondering what people have had success with and what I should do to drop about 10-15 pounds. On the eating side of things I know I have to make changes. I'm a rather picky eater and tend to eat Cheerios for 2 of 3 meals. I also love ice cream! I know I need more balance in my diet. I've heard that keeping a food diary is the best way to stay on track with eating. If anyone has any suggestions on how to stay on track with avoiding snacking and junk food, the advice is greatly appreciated!! Anyone who can offer advice or help is a great help! Thankss

  • Open Question: Does whey protein speed weight loss- even though I don't lift weights as often as I do cardio?
I'd like to lose 10 lbs or more in the next 3 wks- my diet is good, I just need a little push to get there. I am working out 2 hrs a day, five days a week, with about an hour of cardio and half an hour weights and other exercises (warm-up/stretching for the rest). It won't bulk me up will it?
