Open Question: Pregnant with an Eating Disorder?
I'm 28, 24-weeks pregnant, and have a 15-month old daughter. I've been struggling with an eating disorder for the past 14-years and I can't seem to fight this battle. I'm thin obsessed and I know I need to gain weight for the health of my baby, but it's so hard fighting the weight gain. I've had bulimic urges lately. I noticed they are caused by the indigestion I've been feeling during my pregnancy. I've managed to keep myself out of the bathroom, thanks to my daughter being around me all the time. I've also had some anorexic urges where I just don't want to eat, just to be thin and not gain any weight.
Has anyone ever gone through this? Is there any advice anyone can give me to fight this thin obsession? I'd like to stop being so obsessed with thinness, but I get this great feeling when I do lose weight and feel thinner. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks for listening

Due to an illness I lost a lot of weight and am borderline underweight. For health reasons I want to continue working out as I have been for years. I used to run up to five miles or so, but I know now that I will continue to lose weight. To me that is unattractive. I also do light weights, but I don't know where I will get the protein. It is hard enough just to eat enough calories to maintain my weight now.
So, does anyone have a suggestion as to a supplement I can use to maintain or gain weight while I work out 4-5 times a week?

I don't even binge i go practically all day without eating then i eat dinner or something and i hate that i feel full and the thought of all those calories so i have to make myself sick. I just had dinner and I'm fighting with myself to not go to the toilet and purge. I know all the health implications and how unbelievably selfish i am but cant stop doing it. I'm a 13 yeard old girl, 14 in less than a month, and I'm just barely 5 ft 2 inches. (I'm reallt 5 ft 1 inches and 3/4) I went for my physical yesterday and my doctor said you usually stop growing 2 or 3 years after you get your period. I got it when I was 11, a few months away from 12. My mom is about 5 ft 4 and my dad is about 5 ft 8. my brother, who is 18, is 5 ft 8 and my other brother who is 20 is nearly 6 ft. (5 ft 11 or something?) So, do i have any chance of being around 5 ft 6? im like terrified that i'll stop growing by next year and only be like 5 ft 3 or something!!!! I can't take it anymore! My name is Ryan and I'm 26 years old having the toughest of life right now and I do not know what is going on. Everything around me is going wrong. I live with my parents and that is hurting me because my mom has been unemployed for over a year and shes 57 and doesn't seem to want to work again, but she needs to because my dad is almost 65 and he works at a chicken place and has to work overtime just to make a decent paycheck and that is taking a toll on him. Then I am engaged to this girl for almost 2 years and I really start to wonder why we are even together. I get these feelings inside about why I am with her and the things we say to each other when we get upset with one another, though not as harsh words as they were before. She used to tell me how she was so financially responsible with her and her ex's money, and yet being with me, so is over on her bank account, she has other bills in collection, and wants to go back to college but can't because she can't afford to pay that. I don't understand why she has turned like this being with me when she told me she never was like this? Then I have a 39 year old brother who can't manage money and is always in financial trouble, him and his wife together. Don't know what to do there for their part. Then I have a 34 year old sister who doesn't think the world of me because i get spoiled, which i regret now. She hardly talks to me when coming over for a cookout and if she does, i know she isn't sincere about it. Then last, I have a 33 year old brother who didn't finish highschool nor get a college education and he has a $12.50 an hour job working in healthcare delivering oxygen to people with respirtory problems, and hes married with a wonderful wife and 2 great kids. He also has a nice dodge ram truck, loaded, and has other necessities that are really nice. Then comes me, everyone is on my case about what I am going to do with my life, and yet I can't figure out what I really want to do. I keep battling these issues amongst my family worrying about them, and I get confused on helping myself. I ask myself now why does it seem that so much is going wrong now and why can't things go great for me? I am getting too stressed out trying to figure out my life and for me to get somewhere so that I can make something for myself. Living with my parents doesn't help my self-esteem, though it takes a good stable job to be able to get a place. I do not know what to do with my fiancee. Don't get me wrong, she is nice and helpful and she loves me with all her heart, but I just don't feel that connection that should be there. I do and say things to her that I've never done to my ex that I was also engaged to for almost 3 years. Though my ex's name gets mentioned a few times still, with her mail delivered here. And i don't want to be with her either. I just want things for me to go right and for me to be happy. OK, towards the end of this year a kid at my school asked me out, and liking him back (which you would never guess since I ran away from him the first time he tried to ask me out), I gladly accepted. We went out on a few dates, but then the school year ended. And this upcoming school year, I will be attending a boarding school.
I had to go to camp for seven weeks and during that exact same seven week period he whad planned to go home to Europe, both of us returning on the exact same date (even though we didnt know the exact date of each other's return when we first left). After about a week, when I was certain he was back , I texted him to say hello, and we led a casual conversation about what each ofther had done over our vacation via text. Then, a week later, after having no correspondence that entire week, I say hello again and evntually he asked me out. At the end of the date, he asked me out on another one which was eventually canceled because heis mother had not told him of a doctor's appointment that had been scheduled to finish up health care forms for school. A few days later another casual texting conversation, and yesterday another casual onversation again about Risk (I was playing with some friends).
He normally always says good night if we are texting at night and every so often, there is a good morning texted from him as well. Yesterday He started texting me and asked "what time did you get up at this morning?" and from there our conversation just expanded to other topics.
This morning he texted me again (no good morning this time) and was just like "everyone is getting ready for school. it sucks"
Is he trying to push me away b/c I'm leaving?

A little of my background:
I am one of four children, (3 from my mums first marriage to my dad, and the fourth from her second marriage) im a mature nearly 23, live with my partner and im engaged, i have a younger sister 18 who is expecting her first child in seven weeks and lives on her own, my younger brother is 12 and lives with my mum and her fiance in the isle of wight along with my other brother who is 8.
My mum is 41 and recently had a heart bypass having suffering several heart attacks over the last few years, along with a stroke, which she has now recovered from.
She has suffered with diabetes for the last 11 years and is insulin dependant and was also diagnosed early on in the year with having PVD (peripheral Vascular Disorder) which basically effects her circulation (blockages in her veins) and after speaking to her surgeon she has been told that she will have to have her legs amputated and if the problem is not controlled over the years her arms will also have to be amputated. The surgeon said he has never seen a case in such a young patient and he has also never seen the disease grow so rapidly, people who have the disease are normally elderly.
My mum now struggles to cope with the two young boys at home on her own, 1- because of her mobility 2- because of the pain and 3- as she gets depressed about her situation.
Both myself and my sister and the rest of the family live in the midlands so the only support network my mum has is her fiance, and he works internationally, so is rarely at home, and the telephone.
I am looking at setting up a charity as a tribute to the my mum and the persistance she has, and the determination to still be a normal mum to her children. She has had the worst luck in life and i would like to do something for her to show her my appreciation of her efforts.
This charity will fund support networks for people in my mums situations as i have found that there is nothing around, there are no telephone numbers to ring should my sister or brothers wish to talk to someone other than my mum about her health, or generally someone they can go and cry to should they not want to upset the rest of the family. I have tended to find that because i am the eldest i am everyones support, their rock, and sometimes it would be nice to air my thoughts and feelings to a complete stranger who is not involved in anyway, and there is nothing around. The charity will also hopefully fund marketing campaigns for diabetes and its effects on the patient and their families, and again provide a support network for them, it will also train children in emergency situations should a diabetic fall into a coma or have a hypo (which can both kill a diabetic) and they will learn about diabetes and its effects on the body.
I am looking for help in doing this, as i havent the first clue where to start. whetherit be registering the charity, are involved in a charity, how to deal with donations. Any help is welcome, and please if anybody needs a shoulder to cry on, or have troubles you would like to air, please use this page, we could all do with comfort form time to time.

im waiting for a follow up appointment with a dermatologist after the first one was abrupt and dismissive of the complaint.....told me it was nothing.
ive been checked out at the sexual health clinic months back who told me it was nothing, they couldnt find anything on the test......but to go to my doctor to maybe refer to a dermatologist.
the problem and concerns i have is regarding my penis, when erect, its only just about 6 inches or maybe just below.
plus the head of my penis is small, alot ive seen have a big mushroom , broad appearence........mine doesnt but is flat.
also the reason im seeing the dermatologist is because the skin covering the head of my penis is all torn and cracked.....the surface of the skin is all cracked......it looks very unusual.
normally the head of a male penis as a smooth baby skin appearence.
mine is all cracked, like little tears covering the head part.
the dermatologist said she didnt think it was a skin disorder, she didnt know if the cracks will eventually clear but said they might ' reduce ' in time..
meanwhile she reccommended i use simple emoliants to wash down below.
she also refered me to have pictures taken of the skin to be sent of to a specialist for more reccommendations..
i have to see the dermatologist again in a couple of weeks for the outcome of that..
im 30 years old now and im really anxious about this problem.....as a man i feel very inadequete and inferior..
i hope to god, i pray that the cracked skin will clear up in time.....the not knowing is really tormenting me.

yes i have my forskin.......the condition doesnt hurt...im very sensitive down there.......i can get erections ok...

I can't say for sure when this started, but it's been a while. I've been getting cramps below my belly button every month-ish, and they feel like menstrual cramps, except they're a little more painful and I get them at ANY time, not just when I'm about to start my period or whatever. They last several hours and often I end up going to bed with them, but I always feel fine by the next morning. I'm going to the doctor on August 28th and I'm going to ask about it, but I just sorta want some peace of mind until then. Health issues tend to unnerve me a little. ;)
Could this have something to do with my, er, menstrual cycle? Or maybe digestive problems? Something else?

Well, long story short throughout my childhood I wasn't fed very health food and stuff. My family has always been poor and my mum had a lot of trouble bringing me and my brother up (because of the debt my dad left my mum after their divorced when I was a baby.)
Due to this I put on aa lotof weight because of the fatty crap food we were eating, but I don't blame my mum.
I'm now 16 and about 15 or 16 stone, and I can't even look at myself in the mirror.
Me and my mum are going to diet together and I want to lose weight quickly, but healthily. I don't want to starve myself. I have a really slow metabolism though.
I would really appreciate some suggestions of foods and exercises to try.
If anyone could help me with this I would be really thankful. I really wanna turn my life around.

Open Question: Could this be reflux (8 week old)?
My 8 week old daughter has been having stomach/gas/vomiting problems since she was about a week old. Due to health/medicine reasons I couldn't breastfeed & started her on Enfamil Lipil with Iron. I switched her to Enfamil Gentlease & she seemed to be doing fine as far as the gas/crying part. Now, it seems EVERY time I burp her she throws up. She's gaining weight as normal, but I feel so bad that every time I feed & burp her she throws up a lot. She doesn't cry when she's throwing up though so I know she's not in pain & she doesn't do it unless she has a burp after she eats. I'm in the process of getting a new pediatrician because the one I had would NEVER call back after hours or answer any questions at the office. My mom suggested I put a teaspoon of rice cereal in the bottle to thicken it for her but she still throws it up. Could this be reflux? The other doctor just told me "she's eating too fast" but I take her bottle out of her mouth every few seconds & give her breaks.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but she gets the hiccups a LOT especially after she throws up.
I'm NOT feeding her too much or often. I feed her whenever she is hungry & starts to fuss. Then, she gets about 4 ounces every 3-4 hours & sometimes it's longer because she's not hungry. That's what the doctor at the emergency room told me is best for her. He also told me to burp her every 3-5 minutes which I do.

I am searching for my biological mother and/or relatives.
I was born to an18yr old, caucasian, 5'4", 125lb, reddish brown hair, hazel eyed, emotionally immature, Catholic, high school graduate office worker on 6/17/63. My biological father was black.
My name at birth was Cynthia Marie, 8lbs, 13oz, 21in, long curly hair, healthy. The name of the hospital in Erie, Co. (Buffalo), NY not listed on birth certificate
My mother chose to surrender because she no longer had a relationship with my father and she was going to marry a caucasian boyfriend that could not accept a child from another race.
My temp foster parents (who ended up adopting me and giving me everything a "little princess" could desire) Had to send me back to my biological mother at 6 months so she could see how "dark" I got.
The info I have on my biological mother was sent to me by the state of NY Dept of Health. All that it said about the father was "reported healthy by mother."
I just want to know who I look like, have medical and family history. Anything else(contact or relationship via mail/internet etc) would have to be carefully considered.
I have tried adoption search sites to no avail.
I know alot of people should remember this situation.
ANY INFO no matter how small, could be just what I need to finally put the most basic and natural question of who I look like to rest.

Open Question: Can they take my dad's medicaid away???
How can they take my dad's medicaid away? He is on disability and they said his disability check is too high (1800 a month) to get health coverage. He was getting coverage and they discontinued it just like that. His medicine alone is over 300 a month. He has 35 percent heart function, an aortic anyurism and had a 100 percent blockage in his leg. He has trouble walking more than a short distance. He has worked hard his whole life (sometimes holding 3 jobs at once). I just think it is unfair to take away what he was already recieving and from someone who paid into the system since he was a teenager. He is 60 years old now.

Today the Kennel Club hits back on its website claiming to care about the health of dogs.
Who do you trust more to care about canine health or know more about genetics? The KC representing breeders, who want to make money, or vets and genetecists who have dedicated years of their lives to independent objective research and made their own professional observations?
I remember some 20 years ago a cousin mentioned to a dog breeder (from whom she bought a German Shepherd pup) that the dog she bought now had difficulty walking. He said this was how the breed was meant to look. I had to disagree with this idea even then. I don't think any breed is meant to be crippled to be a good specimen.
