It only started as a stomach ache. After attending multible clinics, it turned out to be panic. The doctorc recommended taking anethesia drugs to help relax and get calm. Now, after using Lorazepan, or Activan, it's always hard to sleep, trouble breathing(especially during night, stomach pain, unusual weakness, loss of appitite, and almost every possible side effects that Lorazepam could have. Please help.

This is for my grandmother. She is 79 yrs old and just started taking Lexapro this morning for the first time and she experienced nausea already. She is also taking Lorazepam. I know she isn't supposed to take it but the doctor doesn't want her off it immediately yet until she feels the effects from Lexapro because she's taken Lorazepam for years and would have withdrawal symptoms if taken off it suddenly so she's slowly taking my grandmother off it soon. My grandmother hates meds and always had stomach problems but can take med for gas. She doesn't eat a lot and I forgot to ask her if she took Lexapro with or without food. I'm afraid she will stop taking lexapro because of the nausea which she hates. I told her to keep taking it and if she did the side effect would subside soon and I told her to drink water as that may help the nausea. I'm about to call the doc about this but thought I'd ask here first to see if that saves me a phone call to the doctor.

Just a month ago I was told that I may be suffering from panic attacks. The doctor prescribed lorazepam...my condition seemed to worsen. (Dizzyness, fatigue, rapid heartbeat)
This past weekend they switched me to Citalopram. This landed me in ER with stomach aches, an urge to cry, laugh, fight and vomiting all at the same time! They recommended that I stop taking the medication. Now what?
I'm completely drained by this ordeal...and sick of crying and feeling so confused! (((I 'm freaked out))) I know this isn't going to help my condition.
Now I'm feeling like I can't trust any of the meds out there...something else to panic about! ( the side effects)

I am taking 225 mg of Effexor XR once a day and I also take lorazepam. My dr. has suggested that I take a very small dose of Risperidone (.5 mg) once a day to see if this helps with my depression. I am concerned about side effects of this medication so I wondered if anyone had first hand knowledge of this drug. Although it is just a very tiny dose, I know that it can cause weight gain. I am already very overweight and would not want to add any extra weight to my frame. Plus I wonder if it makes you sleepy during the day. If anyone has additional information about this drug, above and beyond what I have asked, please feel free to provide it.
One thing I would politely ask is that you don't simply surf the web to find an answer, because I have already been researching this medication. I really just want to hear from people who actually have TAKEN the drug and would know first hand what the pros and cons are. Thanks everybody!

My doctor has just put me on two new medications, Lexapro and Ativan.
I am not someone who likes to take any kind of medicine, even things like tylenol, so my body is not real accoustomed to medication. This being said, I've had a few side effects that I was wondering about.
With the Ativan, which I was perscribed to help me sleep, relax my muscles, and deal with anxiety, I'm not having any issues. I take it right before bed.
When I wake up, I take the Lexapro. This morning, I woke up at six a.m., took my dose, and fell back asleep until 10! I am not a late sleeper by habit. When I did get up, my arms and back felt lame, which I assumed was from the muscle relaxant in the ativan. But the worst of all was that I was shaking. My gross motor skills seemed fine, but my fine motor skills were shaky and unsteady.
I was wondering if these are normal symptoms, or if I should call my doctor. The shaking subsided within a few hours. Thanks!

Im not sure if other people have had as many side effects as I have while being on Zoloft but I am trying to take my dosage down & get off of it completely. I have gained 27lbs in a 2 week time period & that alone can make any woman depressed. I can't sleep so I am taking Lorazepam to help with that. I have all the sexual side effects as well. I have horrible night sweats and I will still wake up 10-20 times per night. I've had weird and bizarre thoughts that I cannot control. I am always tired and I have horrible dry eyes now. Which I had to get Restasis for that side effect as well. I am trying to get off this crap & it's only making me feel so much worse. I have been on Effexor, Wellbutrin, & Prozac before & I haven't had a whole lot of luck. The other ones caused me to have severe panic attacks & I ended up having my license suspended while in highschool because they were so bad. Has anyone gotten off this and everything went away & they were okay? I need to know what to expect!

I used to take plain ambien, and never experienced this. The last few times i've taken ambien CR i've slept fine I took 1 6.25mg ambien CR about 2 hours after taking an ativan/lorazepam. Had wierd muscle jerks as I was dozing off (only after taking the ambien), then woke up an hour later in a panic/fearstricken state, heart pounding, sweating, adrenealine rushing, not knowing what i should be afraid of! I want to sleep but I'm afraid to take a second 6.25mg ambien. My muscles also got really flakey right after taking the first dose. If I tense up my leg muscles they'll like start trembling. The last time i took 2 6.25mg's and a 1/2 ativan and i slept fine. Is this a side effect of the ambien, but my body is fighting it? Would the ativan have anything to do with this?
Or maybe they should be called night terrors?

if they can be alternated succesfully. I have been diagnosed with adult Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity, but did not want to take adderall xr at the time, which is what was recommended by my doctor.
I did however later start taking lorazepam prescribed recently, by another doctor for night anxiety and trouble sleeping which was affecting me a lot. However my ADHD seems to be affecting my daytime activities so I was leaning towards talking to my doctor about getting the adderall xr. However I did not want my doctor to think that I was mearly trying to get this medication just for kicks. I guess it boils down to this.
Can adderall xr be taken during the day for example and then the lorazepam in the evening without any problem. I do plan on talking to the doctor about it. But I wanted to see if anyone had used them without serious side effects. Like I said I do plan on talking to my doctor but wanted to hear general opinions from someone who had used them. thanks

My dad, in his late 50's and has asperger's syndrome like me and diabetes, is taking tons and tons of medications. However, I've been noticing him in the past looking at porn magazines as well as porn websites. Plus, when I try talking about it with him, he just talks about it for a little, but then stops. So, I'm researching his medication he's taking because there may be some type of side effect in one of them that could be causing him to look at these porn websites/magazines. Anyways, he's on Lorazepam, Lithium Carbonate, Lisinopril, Nexium, Effexor XR, Clonazepam, Lamictal, Precose, Seroquel, Prozac, Abilify, Metformin HCL, Risperdal, Actos, Glipizide ER, and Gemfibrozil. I did a touchie bit of research on the meds I'm taking, and I found out that Zoloft or Adderall has a side effect (rare) called Intense sexual desire, or something of that nature. I just want to know what it means.
